I used my TTWT discount to purchase my toothbar and have been very pleased with it. I dug out two huge roots, filled in some holes, raked some brush and loosened some compacted soil. Thanks for informing me about it and for the discount!
Tim, I love the fact that your daughter doesn't display any of that "I'm too cool for my parents" attitude. You seem to have a healthy family dynamic, very much the result of putting God first. I'm watching your videos on a rainy day. Too wet to run my tractor so I'm living vicariously. Lots of rain on the way, so I'll keep watching. Keep the vids coming.
I definitely agree that the 1 series is a very useful tractor. growing up on a farm with much larger tractors, you tend to miss out on the abilities of the smaller versatile machines, such as the 1 series. Before I purchased my 1025r TLB, my friend told me that getting the back hoe was a waste of money and that in general the smaller tractors were useless. Then just the other day, (1 month later) he asked to borrow my 1025r to dig a trench in his back yard. "Don't you have a big Case backhoe?" I asked. To which he replied: "Yes, but it can't get into the back yard." Can't help but feel a little bit of pride in my purchase! The 1025r has been no where near useless! Great videos! keep up the good work.
Thats an excellent project for a 4 in 1 bucket. Open the bucket.. go over from the top.. clamp on.. and roll back taling the bush roots and all. Shake the dirt off and barely anyhand work. Easy peasy.
This is how we used to do it: 10 or 12 feet of grade 80 towing chain, and two dozen bolts/nylock nut combos on it around the middle through the links. Come off the bucket, around two (vertical) suckers twice back to the bucket. We tore out small palm trees that way (SoCal).
Love your videos guys ,, I don't have a JD like yours but I do have a show room condition Wheel Horse 520H .. The only thing I haven't got yet is a Backhoe.. But I will .. But yes my favorite thing to do is play on my tractor...so again thanks for the videos I really enjoy them!!!
When you get older you appreciate having something like Johnny so you don't have to do things by hand. Especially because your hands are worn out and hurt so much. You will understand when you're older Cat.
The backhoe option is handy. With our 2130 [no toothbar] we'd dig under the rootball of 8-10 foot willows and transplant them. Not likely a recommended usage but it worked It was our Yard Tractor mainly used to power the grain dryer and 6ft tiller. Two 4640's and a 700 Versatile did the rest. Today? A 318 ;)
Good memories for us. This episode was several years ago. You’ll love the Heavy Hitch toothbar. We have many videos showing it doing many different tasks. We were surprised at how much it helps!
Hey Tim.. You have those cool hooks on the top of the bucket and a chain or a strap around the trees hooked to the hooks would keep it vertical until you uprooted it.
Good idea. I’ll get in my time machine and do that! :-). Just kidding. I know what you mean. Hard to think of everything when actively working at customer site.
My toothbar came in a few days ago. Still haven't used it. Watched another video showing that if dirt gets into the set screw holes, it may never all come out again. He put wax in the holes. I'm going to do the same tomorrow afternoon when the wax arrives. Then I'll use the toothbar. Have to dig a foundation for a garage.
Tim, I was all set to purchase a 2018 1025r filb but the deal breaker is the lack of cushion vavles or cylinders especially the boom. Not overly fond of Kubota's forward/reverse control but their backhoe is way less jerky and the loader has bucket curl and lift at the same time. Everything else I have is green but JD didn't sort this one out unfortunately
Tractor Time with Tim haven't pulled the trigger yet, trying to figure out how to get a Kubota backhoe on the Deere or Deere's forward/reverse control on the Kubota :-) Better idea might be to buy a Komatsu (best control I ever ran) mini excavator and the and a 1025r. I think that's the only way I'm going to be satisfied. "There's no limit to the amount of fun your money can have"
I have to get the tooth attachment for my bucket on my 3032E tractor so I can clear out bushes like your tractor does. I love how great that little tractor does so many jobs and do it well, and those teeth you have attached to your bucket really help too. I got a new tractor last year and love it so far, but neither it or the 790 model I have can do everything and the teeth attachment for the bucket would help so much. Does the John Deere dealership carry those at their dealerships or do you have to go through a 3rd party to get them?
Go to heavyhitch.com to order. Use coupon code TTWT for a 5% Discount. If you are not comfortable with ordering online, there is a phone number on that page. You can use the coupon code via phone. Make sense? Let me know if you need more help.
I bought a "ratchet rake " from ratchetrake.com and it's perfect for bushes, shrubs, saplings and whatnot like you did there beside the house. You don't need lift, you just pull in, put the rake down that attaches quickly to the bucket and back out and it'll pull things up by the roots leaving the top soil. It's like having a new machine. Just thought I'd share. I really like mine.
Hi Tim Jeff from Sheridan . To comment on the thumb I have one on my kubota and love it a must have. I have a question on your tooth bar? I have a bobcat with the normal tooth bar but with my new tractor I was looking at the one from bxpanded call the piranha it is kind of a new style. But yours looks like a cross between the piranha and my older style. What is your thoughts on it. I am kind of an old dog stuck keeping older styles that I know work but the newer styles look interesting.
+Jeff Clemons I don't have the PTB, so I can' directly compare. Folks who have it seem to be very happy with it. The Heavy Hitch version has replaceable points, so you could make it just like your traditional version. I like the split points a lot. Really helps when digging. I suppose I could bring it up there and let you play with it...
love the videos I've learned a lot I bought a 2210 with pallet Forks box blade counterweights and bucket at a yard sale 3 weeks ago what do you feel the main differences are between the 2210 and the 1025r
2210 is smaller. There are a couple of issues you need to be aware of...fan on the hydro somewhere I think...hard to reach drive shaft grease fitting...be sure to grease it, and be careful with the PTO. The housing has been known to break. Greentractortalk.com has more info. Don’t let those issues get you down. It is a great little tractor and will serve you well!
Watching from Canada.. like your vids and follow you. Just purchased a new 1025r with FEL, mmm 54d and box blade. Can't wait to start playing. Any good places in the northern U.S. I could buy other attachments used? Looking forward to some new vids from TTWT.
The best place I know of to buy used attachments is craigslist. Thanks for the kind words. We are thrilled to have you as part of the TTWT team! I notice this comment is on one of our older videos. Have you seen the newer ones? Some of our recent ones are our best...at least in our opinion. It doesn't get much better than "original tractor cab', 'Jack the Ripper' and 'Katriel planting potatoes'.
I found a place in Alberta that makes new custom implements that are awesome and very reasonably priced. Literally half the price of new from a John Deere dealership. I bought a loader mounted hydraulic snow blade and a hydraulic grappler. It’s called Fisherco Attachments. Good luck and happy digging :)
You have to be 17 to drive a car in the UK, even as a learner. The sole exception is for those in receipt of certain state mobility benefits for disabled people, who are allowed to drive cars at 16. This contrasts with most of the EU, where you have to be 18 to drive a car. You can have a tractor licence in the UK at 16, though I doubt many people take that test, as you get a full tractor licence if you pass a car test. You only need a licence to drive on public roads. If you drive solely on private land, you don't need a driving licence.
Very Good video! I have a 1025r and am pretty much sold on the Heavy Hitch Toothbar. However, I wanted to get your opinion on the Piranha Tooth Bar as well. Have you ever looked at that one?
I have not used a PTB. I LOVE the Heavy Hitch toothbar. Easy to install/remove, and totally transforms the tractor into a digging machine. It also works great for grabbing and removing vines, roots, etc.
Just a question on the "forks" lol, how do/are the clamp bolts holding up? I see they use a allen wrench to tighten? Do they have anything to protect them from damage? Great video. At times your wife reminds me of John Henry trying to outwork the steam chisel. Now, if she had HER OWN JOHNNY......
Yes, this was almost 3 yrs ago. Christy was just getting used to the power of the tractor, so she would dig right in and try to do it herself. +Tractor Time with Tim the reviews and the videos on TH-cam made it an easy choice imo. two bolts and that's it. I got some smaller stumps and some brush that needs clearing so I'm hoping to be getting it in a month or so!
I find the set-screws easy. I think I would recommend focusing on how the functionality is different. Piranha seems to be more 'cutting', while the HH seems to be more 'digging'. I would like to try the Piranha myself to compare. However, I find the HH version VERY good at digging.
what you talking about lady, if my kids say they don't want driver license until 18, that awesome. thats a 2 years of less headache for me and save me tons of money.
Interesting. We knew that our daughter would be moving out (to college) after high school. We knew she would have to drive in difficult situations by herself at that time. We wanted her to have as much experience as possible before she was put into these scenarios. It helped dramatically. You saved me the time. I was just getting ready to give you a link to this video. I thought this video would help you decide. Again, be sure to let them know where you found it.
Interesting comment. Others have questioned why I chose to use it at all. I suppose the answer is that I had new toothbar, and I wanted to see what it could do.
I would like to see kids have to wait until their 18 to get their license. The kids I know that their get their license earlier just don't seem to have any common sense. That's why where I live we see all of these teenage wrecks. I had to drive tractors and cultivate corn when I was 14 year old. I had to learn real quick to keep the tractor in a straight line or I was in trouble.
I don't appreciate you showing me this new toy... I already had to call up my local JD dealer, now this? Now I'm not even sure which will kill me first; my lady, my wallet, or my lack of intelligence...
+Mycouponman thanks for watching, and thanks for your comment. You are right, there are many different ways to arrack the problem. Quickly evaluating and selecting a suitable option is what makes it fun.
Those old 4 cylinder Farmall and Allis Chalmers tractors ran (and still run) really smooth. Way ahead of the 2 banger Deeres. Deere was really lagging until the 4010/4020 came out.
Not a good idea to remove your ROPS when operating your tractor. Keep it safe so we can all enjoy watching your shows. Just as well you cleaned your ears out at 11.30 To much of a close up
Most common mistake on TH-cam videos: Talk too much about crap and time of year we care nothing about. Always have to fast forward as much as 5 minutes to get to something useful.
Raul Hogland, it's funny, but to me the talking is what makes this channel more fun than other tractor channels. Plus there is a good group of people to chat with in the comments. The comentary is entertaining, then all of a sudden you learn something. When it's just information I want, I hit the forums. They are searchable and you get lots of oppinions.
VeeDubJohn Really? You care what day they shot the video? What their cousin bob are for dinner? Etc. etc. billions of videos. I don’t know of anyone who watches tractor videos for entertainment. Most intelligent people get past their pride and really value honest feedback. Especially if it is your profession or you are somehow trying to make money with your speaking. But the rest are simply and severely offended. Snowflakes. Oh well. I tried
Wow Raul. You appear to be having another bad day. I can promise you that folks do indeed watch this channel for entertainment. I guess we (and our viewers) aren’t nearly as smart and sophisticated as you.
I used my TTWT discount to purchase my toothbar and have been very pleased with it. I dug out two huge roots, filled in some holes, raked some brush and loosened some compacted soil. Thanks for informing me about it and for the discount!
Thanks for the feedback, Gary. Glad you are enjoying i!
the commentary really keeps the video going, great work. The family participation is very awesome.
+kbcjeep thanks! We have a good time together

I went back tonight and watched all of the tooth bar videos on your channel Tim. I just got one myself and never realized how much I needed it!! Haha
Cool!!!

Yup. I have access to an excavator but there are places it just will not fit.

When you get older you appreciate having something like Johnny so you don't have to do things by hand. Especially because your hands are worn out and hurt so much. You will understand when you're older Cat.
Contrats Katriel! Tim you got to do the fun part. It looked to me like Christy and the tractor were doing all the work. :-) Great video.
+mi2tn yes, Christy does most of the work for our family. She is amazing!
Sounds like my wife.
Wow that Tooth bar made simple work of that brush, perhaps the main or tap root was holding in the ground but the backhoe took care of that.
I love all video that you put out

Good memories for us. This episode was several years ago.
You’ll love the Heavy Hitch toothbar. We have many videos showing it doing many different tasks. We were surprised at how much it helps!
I love the narrator you have....she has a very interesting imagination and makes for good vidjas
Thanks Harley. We never know what she is going to say!
The commentating on this video is the best! lol
HA!! another fun video!!! I had to do that last year,,,beats doing it by hand!!
+bill45colt thanks Bill!
Just ordered a toothbar using TTWT discount. Hope it can transplant some blueberry bushes with it. Thanks Tim.
You’ll love the toothbar! Congratulations!

I just carry a small screwdriver. Works beautifully.
I DO recommend that you lube the threads on the set screws frequently.
Nice vid Tim and contreal

That is a decision you have to make. All of the brands have trade offs. Sounds like you got the one you wanted. Congratulations!

Ok i got to admit that front bucket is pretty cool and did any buddy else get the ''SING'' commercial
Does the RPMs have to be that high on that size tractor to make it operate properly
Where did you get the exhaust extension?
I have to get the tooth attachment for my bucket on my 3032E tractor so I can clear out bushes like your tractor does. Even here in Italy you have to be 18 to drive; anyway keep up the good work and greetings from Italy @Tractortimewithtim

Katriel, I think the drivers licenses issues are that the regulations are more strict, shorter hours,no night hours ect.
you make good content
Rock in video.
Good video congrats on 2k subs keep growing
+Kadin crawford thanks for the encouragement. I hope you can tell that we are having lots of fun together.
+Tractor Time with Tim yes I can tell
Big boy with the gloves on gettin after it.
LOL.. OMG Katriel is so witty and funny.
+GallopingGhost thanks!
Fun fact of the day, in Texas you can drive a tractor on the rode without a license.
Chase Colorado too!
That's pretty much Nation wide. Typical Texocentric viewpoint of the world. Your state is not that impressive.

Hello sir Johnny got his workout in this video.
I like the chrome exhaust pipe
+Travis Houseman I'll sell it cheap. I took it off the tractor several months ago.
Here in Norway you must be 18 to have driving licence to drive a car. You can practice from 16. Tractor you can take driving license when you are 16.
you need a license to drive a tractor? Even on your own property?
You have to be 17 to drive a car in the UK, even as a learner. The sole exception is for those in receipt of certain state mobility benefits for disabled people, who are allowed to drive cars at 16. This contrasts with most of the EU, where you have to be 18 to drive a car.

Yes, this was almost 3 yrs ago. Christy was just getting used to the power of the tractor, so she would dig right in and try to do it herself.
There are Allen head set screws which ‘pinch’ the toothbar to the bucket. The heads are hidden during operation.
We’ve got several videos showing this.
Check them out. Also, don’t forget the coupon code TTWT for a 5% discount at heavyhitch.com
Gee thanks now I have another on my list of "to buy" . Quick install ?
Trivial. Sit it on the bucket (it will sit by itself), then tighten the set screws (7 of them, one behind each tooth) with a 5/16 allen wrench.
I recorded my initial install. Maybe I'll combine it with my first "uninstall" and publish that video at some point.
Perfect , thanks
Toothbar is Removable teeth, AKA Dentures ! ... Johnny gets a set of Dentures!
One question though Katriel; Why do you need to be 18 in China to drive a rickshaw? For that matter, why would you want to?
I think I'm getting the piranha bar for my 1025r
+Chris Pastuf sounds good. Why did you decide on it over the Heavy Hitch version?
+Tractor Time with Tim the reviews and the videos on TH-cam made it an easy choice imo. two bolts and that's it. I got some smaller stumps and some brush that needs clearing so I'm hoping to be getting it in a month or so!
I find the set-screws easy. I think I would recommend focusing on how the functionality is different. Piranha seems to be more 'cutting', while the HH seems to be more 'digging'. I would like to try the Piranha myself to compare. However, I find the HH version VERY good at digging.
Yeah that'd be my primary use would be to basically scalp the ground. The shrubs and stuff I'd like to take out aren't very far down root wise.
Is this yalls main job or side job? I love the shirts lol
+Chase we do the jobs so that we can make the videos. I am a software developer. What do you want to do for a career?

+Chase sounds good. That is a good paying career.
what you talking about lady, if my kids say they don't want driver license until 18, that awesome. thats a 2 years of less headache for me and save me tons of money.

Welcome to our channel.

Thanks for pointing out flaws in a 3 yr old video. Sorry we aren’t up to your standards.

Really?
Tractor Time with Tim can’t please everybody Tim
