White Abario is still a bit green. I'm thinking if they had another half furlong Charge It would have gone right on by. With less than a sixteenth to go, rider on Charge snatched him and to take him to the outside of White Abario, but that one had drifted out impeding that move. I don't think Charge It had enough distance left to catch the 7 but if the rider on Charge It only had to push the button once, who knows. I'd REALLY like to see the head on video of the stretch run

The rider on Charge It grabbed him to shift him out bc HE was the one drifting in bc he was on the wrong lead, the rider was trying to get him to switch leads. That's why he was pulling him to the outside, bc he was on the left lead instead of the right lead.
Possible signs of a tired horse also. First Saturday in May will send them farther than any have raced to date. Charge it should like the added distance, some others not so much. WA is a beautiful horse though and was outside most of the race and ran further than the rest and still won

White Abarrio has to be one of the favorites on May 7th. Impressive win ! 11/4 miles should be no problem. 5 weeks to get ready off a relatively easy win. His stalking style is perfect for the big field in The Derby. As good as any 3yo I've seen so far. Not all that well bred but seems to be very talented. Love horse racing this time of year ♥️🏇
His stride didn't look as strong as Charge It's in the last 50m. I've liked White Abarrio since his previous win and put $100 back in Jan for him to win the Derby, but I'd take Charge It over White Abarrio now and at a better price.
Classic causeway got a great start as usual. Jockey eased the horse at halfway as if injured,? This can't be the horses true running? Wouldn't abandon the horse on this run. Horse that ran second is the one that impressed me most in this race.

Messier is destroying this field. He's faster than Epicenter and Forbidden Kingdom. It's as clear as day. He smoked Forbidden Kingdom in the Bob Hope who then won by 9 in the San Felipe.
Forbidden Kingdom had excuses in that race with Messier, Forbidden Kingdom was out in front in that race and the jockey was trying to hold him back for a long time to rate him, the next race against Messier that is not going to happen the jock will let him all be out and Forbidden Kingdom will go wire to wire just like his last race.

What a horrible ride by Charge It jockey, when he fell back into 4th place all he had to do it keep the horse straight and might have passed White Abarrio..
Saez is one of the best riders there and is winning at 23%. The horse Charge It was making only his third career start and first race going further than a mile. He was running very green in the stretch (see how he changed leads again near the 1/16th pole--clear mark of a horse still learning) and Saez was doing everything he could to get the most run out of him.
He was trying. The horse was green and was swerving all over the stretch, as well as switching his leads. The jockey was trying to keep him as straight as he could. This is only the horse's third career start, he's still learning.
He got challenged on the lead and didn't like it. So he gave up and threw in the towel. That can sometimes happen to horses that get challenged on the lead after having a loose lead and things go their own way the last couple of races. Also probably got tired bc the pace was super quick early on.
Late run by “charge it” just looked to green coming down the lane to the wire..much bigger strides than the rest gobbling up ground but just wasn’t ever gonna catch the winner as Abbario switched leads and cruised thru the finish... What I love to see in a could be ky derby winner?!🧨💰

I hate favorites and abbario will be one if not the favorite on derby day,and as always I’ll wager against him hoping for an awful trip which is always a possibility but in my opinion I can’t leave him out of my Superfecta ticket that’s for certain.

He actually did the right thing by putting him in against some tougher competition bc he wasn't running against much at Tampa. Now we know what happens when he gets confronted on the lead vs being be able to control things on a lose lead. He was doing fine until Simplification and Pappacap came up to him and passed him, that's when he completely backed off and quit running. He didn't like that those horses passed him, but instead of responding by surging forward, he threw in the towel, which happens to a lot of horses who get challenged on the lead for the first time after having things their own way in their last few races.

Some horses who go so long with getting things their own ways on loose leads (like CC was doing at Tampa) often don't like it when a horse challenges them and passes them (as Simplification and Pappacap did) and it can really wreck their confidence. (That's what happened to Nyquist, after he lost the Preakness, he wasn't the same horse). If there was something seriouly wrong with CC, you would have heard about it by now, and nothing has been said, so it's clear that he is fine. He got tired. Horses CAN get tired and quit running. Jockeys will EASE horses to the wire in a race if it's clear that they are not going to win. You clearly know nothing about racing otherwise you would know that jockeys often do "hand-ride" their horses for a majority of a race and only bring out the whips and the urging near the end of a race (especially if it's a longer race), bc they don't want to spend their horse's energy early in the race.

Papacap drifted out and charge it ran right on the heels of white abbario and had to steer out again, way to close to the line

WA ran approximately 70 feet further than Charge It in this race. So....not that Charge It can't win, but WA was the superior horse this race.
