on the subject of how universes work with magic the gathering. I honestly believe that it is a multi solar system with few exceptions, such as Sarah‘s realm, which is just a Golden sky Palace à la the hit 1997 hit movie Hercules or duskmourn which is just a moth demon possessed house whom consumed the very plane itself stars an all that combines the hit 1986 novel it by steven king, the hit 1984 famly film ghostbusters, the classic 1998 japanesse horror story ringu (this goes on for several minutes as i list every inspiration that duskmourn had… but forget stranger things because the only contribution to the set is giving us seems to be the timeframe in which the house took over)
How do you explain Glistening Oil? When it comes to Phyrexian’s lore accurate any hit on the party is basically an instant kill Or maybe some kind of home brew where someone with a Phyresis infection takes a type of poison damage and rolls with disadvantage to charms and disadvantages on death saves?
Alternatively give them corruption counters, every time they take damage from certain enemies they receive corruption, if they get 10 they are perfected. Healing/ restoration can remove some.
@@puckintalk6117 I like this idea, I feel there could be some kind of risky ways to also remove this corruption, like a painful medical check to make it fair to the players
Also two questions for you Puck first can you talk about your thoughts on the forgotten realms players guide and forgotten realms campaign guide that they announced for next year and second once those books come out can you run a sequel campaign to the Mercs of Mischief you guys were the first actual play I saw and how I learned how to play DND it would mean a lot to me
I plan on doing a video about all the new books once I get my hands on them, as for mercs, my next stage plan is to put together a group that will be playing live in the same room, with some familiar voices poping in for npcs and guests, I need to move to a new town and get some things sorted out, but the ball is rolling.
I do plan to use Phyrexians in some of my games, but I'm more concerned with the stages before or after the unvasion. Like, imagine dealing with aftermath of Phyrexian invasion of Theros, where they killed multiple gods.

It doesn't laugh or cry
All it does from dawn till dusk
Is make the soldiers die."

I would make it work like the disease mechanics, like mummy rot, or something similar.

@@puckintalk6117 that’s great
Planet or alternate realities I say why not have both because you can do that thanks to the astral sea

You can go back even further, the original invasion of Dominaria was catastrophic, multiple heroes, gods, and godly dragons died.
