    I’ve done vinyl plank over tile before. With no underpad you’ll always hear tapping in certain spots when you walk.

      I've seen a new home build on slab, it had a low spot and with the padding it still made that tap noise. Ha. They had to redo it

      I bought Shaw flooring like this he's installing. It was a bad flooring because it didn't interlock. So pieces started coming apart everywhere. Shaw sent a flooring expert out who said it was installed wrong. I was out $10,000

      @@jglakecity Shaw sent THEIR flooring inspector! You might want to dig deeper! I'm not saying it was or wasn't the installer, but the manufacturer always tries to plame the installer! Good luck!

    Listen people not to bash on this installer, but if you read instructions this guy should have left 1/4 gap from wall to allow expansion. Other way he could have done is cut into baseboards and hide flooring with proper gaping from wall. The way I do it per instructions is I remove all base boards and leave the proper gape with is usually 1/4 to 3/8 spacing and then install trim after new floor is installed. The person before me installed laminate floor and during summer my floor expanded and started bowing up due to now expansion gap between wall and floor. I see this mistake so common with no gap. These people will have issues when humidity during summer will expand the floor. Have fun walking on that.

      Probably a flip, or nobody cares anymore lol those floors will be replaces in 3-5 years when they get tired of the look, working on older houses 40-60s they did make stuff way better but a bitch to take off or break! damn boomer

      It's LVP no need for expansion also no need to remove baseboard , just add shoe mold or quarter round also no underlayment because it's lvp and it's floated on top on existing flooring

      @@SanAntonioNewHomesForSale interesting, I installed LVP in my house and the manufacturer called for an expansion gap. Yes, of course you can do 1/4 round but it looks terrible. I also still think everyone should do under layment, way quieter.

      Most vinyl plank flooring come with the padding and moister barrier on the back side of each plank.

    I spent all day looking for wood grain laminate flooring. Why does it all look so cheap? I think I would have kept the tile in this case, unless you wanted to change from the beiges to the greys.

    So we got tile under a floating floor. Thus is suppose to be a low maintenance floor not a floor the will need pulled up when the tile starts releasing or one gets shattered when something heavy hits the vinyl

      Theres usually about 7 different shades per flooring applied. That's why you should separate them before you start.

    Nice and tight so that way it comes apart as soon as it gets warm or cold? should have undercut the round molding and put it away from the base and added quarter round or take the base off and reinstall when you're done

    No room for expansion and contraction of the planks. You’re supposed to have a 1/4” gap between the wall or existing baseboard. Then you add you shoe molding or 1/4 round trim. Not undercutting the trim on that threshold hold is very much amateur/hack move.

      Plus the height difference on the ceramic tile I'm sure is not perfect there will be deflection when you walk on it it'll come apart I would have primed the tile and feather finished it flat

    Low budget for sure. But my peeve here is the installer is just pulling the planks from the case. The light color next to a darker piece is soo annoying! I put them against the wall where it may be a couch or furniture and way less noticeable like this

      @Anthony O yeah we usually open all the boxes and mix when it's a pattern that really sticks out. Sometimes you have no choice though unless the customer wants to pay for extra material and labor.

      Depends what type of flooring is installed. Most of laminate flooring can be I stalled of most flooring just not carpet.

      I install this floor everywhere LVT is not garbage, but when I talk to customers I always explain the pros and cons to removing baseboard pro it will look better con it costs alittle more good trick I use it but absolutely I try and talk people out of drop lock LVT it always comes apart

      Well there are diffrent brands tuffcore makes the best LVT but others are good to I just had to install a paradigm droplock LVT that was garbage so I do understand some is garbage but not all of it is garbage sir

    Op I sure hope you don't have ppl living downstairs. Not to mention, its just not comfortable for you to walk on. With the clattering clap clap hollow sounds and unevenness.
    You don't want to pay for the extra lining/padding? Well, at least lay on a few layers of Bounty Paper Towels!
    Do it properly, people. It can raise the value of your home. At the very least, it wouldn't depreciate the value.

    That's gonna buckle, shrink, expand, and fall apart. Need a 1/4 inch space between walls and flooring. When it does buckle and shrink that's all wasted product.
    Guys, if you're going to do this gain some knowledge first. Dont waste your time or your customers time and money. Do it right the first time. Otherwise I will be around to collect doing it right when they call me up.
