Transitioning the video of roughed in dirt holes to seeded holes is a phenomenal effect. Excellent patience to go back and get the shots for comparison!
Man I’ve been waiting for a video like this, seeing an architect at work really shows how much thought and work it really takes to make a good golf course
Couldn't agree more with everyone else. Fantastic content. So interesting to have an architect be bluntly honest about thinking who will be playing the course and taking that into major consideration with the design.
Interesting to hear Bobby talk around the 5:30 mark, almost horse whispering the course design. He's either a genius or a complete nightmare to work with! Quite the contrast to the GPS / CAD design effort. Great vid, would love to see more from the drawing board onwards
as a land surveyor, this kind of foreman is the worst. you have to be able to measure/plan for drainage and when it doesn't flow like it should the surveyor get's blamed. I appreciate his sculptural tendencies, and I'm sure his decades of experience account for all of that, but whoo, what a headache! I'm a North Florida native, and I know just how hard it is to get a course to drain. My summer job in college was on the maintenance crew on a muni in my home town.
LOVED this video, really hope to see more! So interesting and satisfying to see the process and hearing from the architect, plus it was beautifully put together!
What an awesome insight into course construction & architecture, really cool to see the bones of a course come together but with an organic and calculated balance. Thanks for the awesome content NLU crew!
Really awesome video! Every time I watch your videos I wonder how you guys have less than 100k subs. You guys have been so focused on growing the game, you haven’t grown the channel (not through lack of amazing content)! I keep scratching my head after every video. You guys are the best!
I watch NLU content and listen to the podcast religiously, and I truly love basically all of your guys' stuff. "However," this might be the most interesting short vid you you guys have made. I could easily watch a more in-depth piece covering golf course construction as well. Thanks NLU!
Really interesting stuff! If I had a chance to do it all again, I'd have a go at golf course architecture. Another version of this on a property with trees to contend with would be wonderful. Thanks guys! 😎⛳
Thanks for the peek behind the curtain. This will be the Closest golf course to my house but I’m “only” 44 so no membership for this youngin. I believe they are allowing outside play until the community is built out.

i liked the seeded holes more than the roughed dirt holes....

I hope this is part of a series love when you guys and the Fried Egg bring on the architects
This is crazy. I love seeing how stuff gets built and how the architect can think and see his vision in the literal dirt. Hard to wrap my mind around.
As a surveyor and golf nut, I really appreciate this kind of content.
So awesome this is one of the best videos NLU has made yet!

7:08 - 7:20 chef's kiss x a million! Great interview and great video production pieman!

What a great inside in one of the nicest jobs on this planet. These guys are doing a great job 👏🏼
Some of the best content NLU has published
The bunkering here looks so good
That was a great video. They're really birthing a golf course, bringing it to life. Love the insight this offered.
Thanks for this Soly.
Cant wait to play it. Drive by every day.
You can see his Pete Dye heritage - creating on the ground, the timber sleepers. Great video NLU - thanks!
Love this view of golf course design and thought process on how everything needs to be laid out!
The production is super impressive

Agreed their counts are lower than deserved. Still not sure why that is but the glass ceiling is coming down soon baby
This is so awesome to hear thought process and see how the design moves through phasing! Great job guys!

this is great stuff- more of that please!
Need more of this in my life
This was awesome, that is all!
Very cool to see from this prospective. I went to school with his kids and never knew he was an architect.
Really interesting stuff! If I had a chance to do it all again, I'd have a go at golf course architecture. Another version of this on a property with trees to contend with would be wonderful. Thanks guys! 😎⛳
Good footage boys
This is awesome 👌

AMAZING how he can visualize a course from scratch.
NLU vids are just built different
Love the interview and content. Wonder what type of soil mix they have just before seeding?
Exceptional stuff.
Yall at NLU should try designing your own course on PGA 2k21 Course Design
More architecture/construction content!
Whats the cost of the project?
"Flexible tined harrow" in Florida, a turdbuster in Oklahoma.
i like it
You show me a freshly cooked, juicy cheeseburger....
...I'll show you an empty wrapper.
Sticky. Bobby. Weed.
Good lord, this should have been 90 minutes, not 11.
Try and convince me Soly won’t design a course one day, you won’t
no travel ghin.
