    Do you think you can take on Pabe ghat? What's the hardest climb you've done - let me know in the comments!

      Great coverage.. the hardest climb that I did till now was Jarsheshwar, going up twice. Coincidentally Shobhan was part of that climb!

      Thanks Sacchit! I guess you haven't done Sinhagad and Lavasa yet? Those are pretty much the "standards" for Pune - definitely harder than Jarsheshwar too, though I can't comment about going up twice :)

      Enjoy, and start early - that's one long ride, but definitely worth it!

      The Indian Cyclist So nice of you to respond! The only thing in my way is the lack of a large orange helmet and Aunty Bertha!

    I have done this climb untill I guess the two cows shown in this vid but to my bad luck had a cramp and had to return from there. But the fun and grind is totally worth doing. This is the even tougher then sinhagad I guess. Every cyclist should try this once to check his/her limits...Cheers to life and health. Thanks for posting the vid enjoyed and relived it.
    Tip- Do carry plenty of water as you will not get anything in between.

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely harder than Sinhagad for me, and because of the gradient, the heavier you are, the worse it becomes! I have yet to ride up without stopping - the last 500-800 meters I had my phone constantly on, looking at how much I had left :D Glad you enjoyed the video, the next time you try this, you may want to try Kadve Khind too: th-cam.com/video/p9IV0kH_L1o/w-d-xo.html (or maybe just Kadve Khind!)

    12.4 % Gradient 😮😮 i guess trekking would be quicker than pedalling

  • @blesonthomas

    How did you calculate gradient of elevation? U have any app to suggest which helps to find out high elevation areas in maps?

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're looking for climbs, the easiest way is to just use the Strava segment explore feature with a climb category of 3. Most (but not all) of the climbs will have Strava segments already defined. Else, turn on the Terrain view in Google maps - you'll see the elevation lines (though there isn't necessarily a route up all mountains :P).
      The data for my graphs comes from someone who cycled up with a cycle-computer that records altitude as well (with internal barometer), defined as a Strava segment, and then analyzed using VeloViewer - see link in description.

    There is a road which leads to Taljai tekdi. I will say that stretch gave me nightmares.

      Thank you! If it's the regular climb to Taljai, I covered it here: th-cam.com/video/6Ox2pm88Gc8/w-d-xo.html Do keep climbing, it's very rewarding and opens up a lot of new possibilities for cyclists.

    Can this be done on a road bike? Any other ways to connect except discord?

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you can do it on a roadie, there were no dirt trails, just terribly bad roads in spots - so possible, but won't be too comfortable. You should make sure you have a spare tube and puncture kit. Discord would be great, but feel free to ask more questions here, or message on facebook: facebook.com/theindiancyclist/

    So didn’t yet get diverge:)?

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha Blesson! No dude, I actually saw the Diverge in person and it was a bit disappointing in the flesh; they also had a Diverge Carbon on display which looked awesome .. but twice the price. I hadn't planned on buying yet, but after seeing the Comp E5, the desire has gone. I'm feeling much happier now with the Sub Cross 20, and might take another look at gravel bikes when the new GRX groupsets make it down to affordable machines. What did *you* buy?

    • @blesonthomas
      @blesonthomas 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Indian Cyclist same old Metrix 20 ! Love this hybrid machine with 35 tires!
      See that roubaix also..I guess it got future shock and is much lighter! Might be agile and handle lil tougher terrain,wth an advantage of weight! Got huge fan following also!
      Or we will continue with our hybrids as long as it tells us it can’t handle no more! Lol
      Happy cycling! Great narration and lot better graphical presentation👍🏻

    • @TheIndianCyclist

      I think it's going to be hybrids for quite some time, for me! Scott [Hybrids] FTW!

    Am sure I fear bopdev more than pabe and even sinhagad

    • @TheIndianCyclist
      @TheIndianCyclist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bopdev has a formidable gradient to be sure and it's my favourite :) Why do you fear it though, and have you ridden Pabe / Sinhagad?
