This song is the opposite of racist. Like great literature, the lyrics reflect the universality of people sick of criminal behavior. Cowards attacking the vulnerable and destroying our country. Anarchists don't have a noble cause, they are just greedy. By the way, Jason Aldean has a fantastic voice and delivery! This should be song of the year!

The lynching happened about 100 years ago and most people have never heard of it. Jason did not pick out the site, the production company did. Other videos have been filmed there and no one cared. This song has nothing to do with race and every thing to do with good and evil and the differences between city and small town.

Exactly gentlemen, its about denouncing the senseless violence and crime, and lifting up the grass roots strength of community. Interesting note, i was an OTR truck driver, and back in the 90s when i was still driving, you could still find community pride even in the middle of compton california. One more note, the riots ruined the lives and livelihoods of thousands, and took the lives of good men like retired police officer David Dorn at the cost of taxpayers to the tune of @2billion dollars. nail on the head. the story I heard is an 18 year old black man was accused of molesting a white girl and he was beaten and dragged by a car and hung from a 2nd story window of that courthouse. I would not have heard of this but for the call of racists from certain crowds. that was in 1927, I think. Y'all have a blessed day.

That bit about the courthouse is just a detraction from what is being presented here. There is no racism in this video, just a panoramic view of the destruction and chaos that has come into our country in the past few years. He is saying in a nutshell: this far and no more...stay out of our neighborhoods, and stay out of our business, or there will be a reckoning.

I have watched an INNUMERABLE amount of reactions to the song "Try That In A Small Town" by Jason Aldean, most by Black brothers and sisters. All but 1 (ONE!) of them has given a positive reaction/view of the song/video.
People who have put out negative comments,what are you thinking about?! This song and the video are definitely saying : when you gonna stick up for one another?! Hasn't there been enough violence and criminal activity going on?! Why aren't you, who are in the big cities, getting to know your neighbors to get along with each other?! Why you letting this violence and criminal activity happen in your own back yard?? You too busy rushing to work to make the almighty dollar and wearing BLINDERS as you pass by your neighbor every single day?!! A small town has the involvement of community, of brother/sisterhood, of peace no matter if there black,white,brown,yellow,etc! They don't want to have that exposure to their children and grandchildren. They're trying to bring up their families to be in an attitude of respect for each other, the law, other's properties, at peace with all peoples, BUT not to stand for any nonsense that could threaten them or where they live --- don't even try coming to our town to do that stuff 'cause we won't tolerate it,there will be consequences, thus the COURT HOUSE!! Why are some people looking to make this song, lyrics and background pictures something they're not?! There's no subliminal messages in it!
