Terry I couldn't agree more about what you swing. I use to metal detect when I was a kid I'm 60 now. I bought a Vanquish 440 in September of 2022 and can not believe how great it works. I have found 8 gold rings a few gold charms and necklace. I have about 25 silver rings 5 necklaces a couple bracelets about 20 charms and pendants and enough clad to fill half of a 5 gallon bucket. I have also found a few silver coins and a few coins over 150 years old. All I can say is learn your detector on what it's telling you and go enjoy this wonderful hobby 😁

Good sound advice, especially about just go detecting and don’t worry about permission in public parks. Asking will mostly get you a “no" from someone working there who will hedge their answer as they may not really know the rules.
Sometimes I find more treasures walking through a paved parking lot in a shopping center.... Last month, for example, I found a folded $100 bill up against a curb stop of a parking space near a shopping cart corral. Just keep your eyes open all the time, especially where many people travese. Be it at empty vacant old fair grounds, or the parking lot of your local supermarket… Treasure is abound. My 1-week old Xterra Elite that I bought as a backup detector( th-cam.com/video/LJuQgrzibLA/w-d-xo.html ) located a Franklin Silver Half-Dollar 5” down at an old farm stand property on it’s second time out... Keep swinging that detector !!

I can't afford a fancy detector - hence my B.H. Tracker IV. That being said - I always hit up tot lots and under bleachers (using a sniper coil.) I've found quite a bit of clad (which is fine with me.)
