I think the idea was for this weapon to allow a short burst of suppressing fire to force enemies with bigger guns to hide, while your buddies can get back into the tank or escape the scene. Alternatively, it allowed various bodyguards and stuff to pack quite a significant punch into their pockets to surprise the attackers, who may be armed only with pistols. In both scenarios, this is a gun for surprising your enemies in asymetric scenarios.

Few fun facts: The rate reducer really makes it way slower and more reliable too. There was also a shoulder holster for this boy. The 32 ACP was not picked up for size sake as it was later introduced in 380 and 9Mak while keeping the original size. The reason for that was that 32 ACP was used by the Czechoslovak police since 1920s and it only made sense to use the same cartridge. 9mm Luger version existed too known as Vz 68 but was way bigger.

Greetings from the Czech Republic. I have some interesting things for you:
    1) Vz.61 is an abbreviation, the whole word "vzor 61" = "pattern 61", that means that in 1961 the weapon was introduced to the armed forces. This marking method was used for various Czech weapons, but also for civilian equipment and machinery from 1945 until 1989.
    2) This weapon was originally intended for tankers, motorcyclists, and other military specialties who needed a small weapon because the vz.58 automatic rifle (pattern - see above 😀 ), popularly called "kosa" ("scythe"), would be too much for them. But soon the police and secret services from all over the Warsaw Pact and other countries took a liking to her. That's why it appears in so many spy movies 😀
    3) Currently, this weapon is still used by armed forces in more than twenty countries.
    4) It is often claimed in the literature and on the Internet that this weapon was the inspiration for the Uzi submachine gun. But that is not true. The Uzi submachine gun is structurally based on another Czech weapon - the ZK476 submachine gun.

61 was not created nor designed to be SpecOps/Spetsnaz/KGB units, it was created to make a weapon for Tank crews, Helicopter pilots and other vehicle crews that would be small enough to fit into holster (with the 10 round holster) while still being able to provide crew with enough firepower. Another use was for Paratrooper Squad Leaders that either used Vz.58 S (Folding stock version) or they can carry this. Another usage could be for assistent MG gunner so he can carry more ammo or for another support units or as a secondary weapon for MG gunners, AT gunners etc.

I made a suppressor for a friend's vz61 and used ard rubber baffles in front of a steel baffle. 6 mm spacers between them. The foremost baffle was a 10 mm neoprene disc with a very small hole punched through it. The whole setup was ridiculously quiet. Save for the action rattling, it could have been a welrod. Accuracy suffered a bit from the neoprene baffle, so hitting anything smaller than a soda can beyond 50 metres was anyones quess.

Brandon's left hand in his pocket (and right hand loose) for the intro Skorpion reveal is actually something the secret service are trained to do to conceal similar weapons. Especially when walking the outline of the gun can be seen and as Brandon demonstrated the jacket moving can get in the way of deploying the gun. Yet despite knowing that as one of the first things to look for with larger concealed guns it still managed to fool me.
Also when unarmed agents often tend to walk like that out of habit so it can be a useful giveaway in any situation. Though Brandon's first attempt having the left hand loose unfortunately suggests he likely isn't James Bond. I'm very disappointed.

Then the "Scorpion" is reliable and you can enjoy it to the fullest. The stock was normally used by leaning it against your cheek and shooting like that. • @wolfvonturmitz5652

Hey Brandon! Couple informatioms for you to know abou this gun!
    1. There is a trick how to shoot it better with that tiny stock, 2 options really, maybe 3.
    2. I served with it, it was ment for tank crews, pilots, officers, jail guards atc, instead of pistol, like a pistol but with more supressing capability.
    3. It is quite accurate, surprisingly accurate, one just needs to get used to it, there are many dead prisoners, who were shot from the tower even in 100-150m range. Also a lot of people shot on the border fence, or running from STB in the streets, to testify about it! But those commrades wont tell you much now. You can still ask those service members though.
    4. I served with it for a while too. It was quite handy during christmass patrols through trading centres. We had 9mm CZ 75D Compacts + vz. 61 on a sling. Once I managed to stop car full of Gipsy ghetto thugs who tried to disrespect police enclosure, it cant stop a motor, but sending all 20 bees in to front glass is good argument enough. Within 25m -50m its still very accurate. And recoil is none.
    5. We are Czechs, we had no Gulags and we dont have Russian accent ;-) ! In fact our language is very hard sounding, more like if you try to read english with Latin, not Latino, pronounciation, you know... DUMUS, SUMUS, HUMUS... And! Instead of Gulags, we had Uranium mines that our commies used to depose off people.
    6. Fun fact is, that its the only comm block gun, that was acquired via third party en mass even for western MI5 and CIA :-D and not only Warzsaw pact or Terrorists.
    7. There is fairly large silencer for it, thats quite good and we have a lot of aftermarket tunning parts for this little PDW.
