I just took a self-drive demo trip for an hour today in a Model Y. I have driven a Honda Fit EX for the last 118,000 miles and absolutely love that car (zero problems, cheap to drive, comfortable). Having said that even at $30K more to purchase, I'm very tempted to get a Model Y after this demo drive. I mean, DAMN. The MY blew me away. It was like stepping 20 years into the future, from my perspective. Knowing what I do about it's safety, efficiency, size, and autonomous capabilities, I am almost certain to buy one in the next year or two years, unless I decide to move out of the US and live in a place with excellent public transportation (like South Korea, for example).
Model 3, with tax credit, starts at $34, 990 here in US, $42, 490 w/o it. So basically the same as a top of the line Accord or Camry (without the usual Toyota dealer mark-ups). Honestly if you can get the credit that is a steal.
Thats what im talking about. Try speccing a camry or an accord to be the equivalent of a base model 3. You need to do heated seats front and rear, heated steering wheel, their updated infotainment, and keyless entry and remote start. Thats a fully loaded Accord or camry. THEN you add the dealer markups. Last time i did the calculations its 10k cheaper to buy a model 3. Even better if you have solar installed at home etc.
If you can get a loan, with out subsidies, tesla is still a better deal. Higher purchase price without subsidies but the cost is also calculated with ownership $ and service $. Purchase price does not equal the true cost one should think about imho. Model 3 cost of ownership = a corolla
I can attest - The New Model 3 is an outstanding car. My AWD LR exceeds advertised range and efficiency - it is built rock solid and has been flawless over many months of ownership. Well worth trading in my Mercedes E350 for it.

When dealerships are trying to sell gas guzzlers for insane amounts with high interest rates and all these vehicles are sitting is pretty telling to why Tesla is going to continue to outpace their competitors.
The referral code gives the person referring $1000 merchandise credit or free supercharging. Not cash. I had $500 incentive and it was difficult to use as merchandise was limited and I charge at home so free supercharger were hard to use.

Just a heads up if you plan to trade in a Tesla for a new Tesla. I was all set to pull the trigger on a new Model YLR and had a trade in value in writing from Tesla that I felt was ok. A day later, when it came time to schedule my delivery date they suddenly dropped the trade in value by $800. The original trade in value was based on giving them photos and all the data on my Model 3 that they requested. Very disappointed. I really enjoy my 2 Teslas and in the past I felt their whole purchase process was very easy and straightforward. Was hoping this was just a glitch. But apparently not. When I cancelled the car I was getting quickly disappeared from my app and the $250 order fee was removed. Still a month to the end of the quarter so maybe they will add some additional discounts and I will try again.
They have started delivering the cybertruck 3 weeks ago in canada. We are starting to see them in our streets. The ct is going down in price rapidely imagine when the rwd comes out. We might be looking at a 50-60k truck insane.

California, I'm paying for two drivers with no marks on our dmv record, $214. After a year and low mileage, they dropped it down to $152. I'm with Tesla's Insurance. Haven't searched around yet but I plan to. I'm paying 150 for a 12 year old Prius at Geico. One driver.
I live in Texas (suburb of Houston) and have a 2023 MYLR. My wife and I are retired so we don't put a lot of miles on the car. I have Tesla insurance and am currently paying $101.33 per month which I think is reasonable. I don't know whether Tesla insurance is available in TN or not but if it is, it's probably the way to go.
Tesla is pulling out all the stops to beat 2023 sales. If they have declining year over year sales the stock price will tank. VW group is beating them in Europe, if $7,500 incentive goes away in US and Chinese competition heats up 2025 could be a bad year for them. Unless they can keep lowering their costs, profit margins will be taking a hit.
A great car, but not much use in the UK where we use our cars for transporting things around and use it as the main Family car. It was such a shame that it wasn't a Hatchback, they would have cleaned up in Europe.

The TESLA is much more reluable than any TOYOTA ( no transmission, no radiator, no water pump, alternator or battery to go bad ( typical battery life of a Tesla is over 350,000 + miles. ) Brake jobs are extremely rare on a Tesla ( regen braking, puts electricity back into the battery instead of wearing out brake linings) no oil changes or fluids to check( except windshield fluid) The Tesla is the safest car on the road ( consumer reports) The body is a miracle of modern manufacturing. The front and rear assembly are each 1 part instead of the average 150 parts assembled to make the same section of any car. On a long road trip first you’ll need to drive 5 hours to run the battery down. Then plug it in at the SUPERCHARGER displayed on your navigation system . ( there are 195,000 Chargers in AMERICA only 146,000 gas stations and some gas stations are already putting in chargers) 15 minutes of charging gets you 200 more miles of range. ( or another 3 hours of driving. ). You don’t charge it all the way up because it charges much faster in the first 15-20 minutes. So make the bathroom break or meal quick.

My 2024 M3 LR RWD gets 4.9 miles/kW, and uses 20.3 kW /100 miles over 1st 2500 miles of ownership.
