For example type to Siri it doesn’t let me send messages at all and talk to Siri it doesn’t do the animation for some reason I’m not sure what’s wrong hopefully it’ll get fixed soon. I would say I’m amazed by the battery life. Was expecting it to be worse.

It’s not about a singular feature. Apple Intelligence is composed of different AI models and those require 8GB of RAM to operate on-device without needing cloud assistance

Apple will also have a partnership with Gemini (Google based) next year or so! Apple doesn't have their own AI either, its all OpenAI based too! Just because they call it "Apple intelligence" doesn't mean Apple has its own AI software! Even Samsung can process AI on device only, but that doesn't mean that part is Samsung based. it's still Google under the hood! 😉 😜 😘

well, that was fast. In less than five minutes, I got a notification on my phone that I had the Apple intelligence features. The new way of indicating that the digital assistant is active looks pretty space age. I can’t wait to experiment with the other stuff.
As soon as they released a 15 Pro, it was obsolete. Not every phone can support every new feature. I get the frustration, but that's how technology works. If they pushed a feature to older devices, people would complain about it using too much battery, running slow or hot. Apple has shitty things, but its better to talk abt the actually bad shit

When looking at a photo or video- within seconds my photo or video cuts out and the screen reverts to the Home Screen!👎🏼👎🏼 •• And, in our Recently Used section of Emojis (where we keep our favorites) the 18.1 update DELETED ALL OF OUR RECENTLY/FREQUENTLY USED EMOJIS ‼️👎🏻 Then when trying to tap and re-add our favorite emojis (like previously) this bad, new version will NOT add the new emojis we want to add back to Recently Used section‼️👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 Any input about these big problems, & IF Apple will fix these glitches (when)??? Thank you!

And you are right about notes transcript will be available to older iPhone as well. So there is a good chance call recoding might come to older iphones without call summary option. I’m currently running iOS 18 public beta, not the developers so I’m patiently waiting to be able to play with these Apple intelligent features. I think every single one of them can be useful with our day-to-day tasks, especially the writing tools.

Probably none of it, tbh. There is a beta 18.0 on all supported phones, 18.1 is 15 pro/pro max due to the chip it uses. So, unless they let everyone else go out to the cloud, the answer will be none of the features.

I feel like we are finally honouring Steve’s legacy. Steve always said, Apple are rarely first, because we make sure when we do release, it’s right. Tim strayed from this a little. HomePod with Siri wasn’t ready and was absolutely blown away by Alexa. Siri has been junk for so long. They’ve obviously been trying for years and years to get this right. The team up with OpenAI is proof, imo, they just couldn’t get it right internally. The Siri we are seeing now is how it should have been from the beginning. I genuinely don’t believe the processing power of the 15 and 16 is what’s needed for this. I reckon it’ll probably work fine on the 14 pro max for instance. But technology from a hardware perspective has been stalled for many years (discounting foldable phones, which have proven to be a flop) so Apple are doing what they need to do to keep the shareholders happy and sell more devices. If it weren’t for Apple intelligence, I’d have no reason whatsoever to upgrade from my 14 pro max.

I updated my 15 pro to the 18.1 developer beta, and I got accepted into the Apple Intelligence already, however some features are just simply not showing up for me.. For example, the rewriting messages as concise or professional, nowhere to be found. Same with even the focus mode option of reduce interruptions, nowhere to be found. I am so confused

After trying the Apple Vision Pro, I'm going to use my iPhone 15 Pro Max to record photos in panoramic and videos in spatial video so I can relive those moments in 3D Apple Vision Pro.
With the phone call recording can you check to see what happens when you call someone and then they loop someone else into the call? Does the third person get a warning or does the recording not work or does it all work and the third person has no knowledge of the recording happening?

runs great on my M2 MacBook Air, as its the only apple device i have that can support it at the moment.

You can’t, it’s greyed out in the top left until they answer or it goes to voicemail

Good morning Brandon I updated last night to 18.1 on my 15 Pro Max, and Siri is no longer working. The new animation starts when I say hey Siri, but then the app crashes do you know what work around?

No once you move to the 18.1 you cannot receive 18.0 updates
I updated my 15 pro to the 18.1 developer beta, and I got accepted into the Apple Intelligence already, however some features are just simply not showing up for me.. For example, the rewriting messages as concise or professional, nowhere to be found. Same with even the focus mode option of reduce interruptions, nowhere to be found. I am so confused

Unfortunately they won't be giving Iphone 11 models any of the AI integration. But we will still get the software update.

Why cant they give call recording without transcribing feature tonold iphone. I dont want to upgrade for this one feature of call recording

Just to make sure, do the mail app features still work if your email address isn't an iCloud one? I'm thinking about switching to iPhone later this year, but I might not if I have to get rid of my Gmail account to use all the features

After trying the Apple Vision Pro, I'm going to use my iPhone 15 Pro Max to record photos in panoramic and videos in spatial video so I can relive those moments in 3D Apple Vision Pro.
With the phone call recording can you check to see what happens when you call someone and then they loop someone else into the call? Does the third person get a warning or does the recording not work or does it all work and the third person has no knowledge of the recording happening?

im on 18.1 meta 1, i have the siri AI but the double tap at the bottom doesnt bring up the type for AI. i have 15 pro max
Anyone else not able to double tap twice to type to Siri? Haven’t been able to do it since the update. Case on, case off etc. nothing works.
