    The sound is second to none. Like you, I want something that growls but is not obnoxious, loud but not too loud. The drone on the inside seemed very tolerable. I’d love to get the decibel readings. The 10 speed transmission really makes the sound almost dance as well. Secondly, I’m completely jealous of how handy you are, installing that on your own. You made it look so simple and yet I’m sure it’s not as difficult as I’ve made it in my mind. Thanks for sharing, I’m looking to do something very similar, if not the same to my AT4 soon.

    Really glad I happened upon your videos. I really enjoy them. I've got the identical system, but with the Touring muffler. Your neighbors have likely shared their thoughts, but for me your vid definitely reaffirms my choice. My truck is *loud* early in the morning! Two other notes, for whatever they're worth. First, there wasn't a Borla hat in my box, which makes me go wah. Second, very good call on the thorough inspection. I've got the longer "standard" bed, and even though the description and manual stated the kit included the extra intermediate pipe, it actually didn't. This delayed my install, and I was disappointed in how the vendor (and Borla, I suppose) handled it. Ultimately, I went to my local exhaust shop where they removed the length of pipe needed from my stock system, and welded it on to the Borla. Stainless-to-stainless, no harm-no foul, other than an extra hit to my wallet. A bit frustrating - you'd think a $1,450 (US) system would include much better QA/QC - but I still smile every time I drive the truck. Thanks again.

    I really wanted that for my birthday this September 17th but it wasn’t in my budget.
    Now, I understand GM has the RED GMC grille emblem that lights up!! I really would’ve wanted that for my birthday. My GMC Sierra DENALI ULTIMATE truck is so much fun to drive and when I’m in town or on the highway I notice other GMC beauties. Perhaps next year I’ll get both.

    Based in part on your videos, I ordered Borla-140768BC today for my '22 Silverado. This is the Touring version. Debated on S-type, but my truck is an LTZ, not a Trail Boss or RST, and it is not lifted due to my nearly 71 year old knees. Just want a bit more personality. Had Flowmaster duals on my '01 Suburban. Very noticeable when towing our travel trailer at 68 mph in third gear (2,700 rpm - couldn't hold 4th). Thanks for all the useful information.

It will be heard inside the cabin, but not too noticeable on the highway and under cruising conditions. The system is sanctioned by GMC, so it's rather tame..I did consider the Atak, but I wanted something less noisy. One other thing, the sound is definitely off with DFM. enabled. No more rear end bounce and the fronts have 3 circlip settings to level the front. I put my fronts on clip#3 setting and it leveled it off nicely. I'll keep watching for mod ideas. Thank you.

Third, I have a friend that had a good hook up for me to get a Borla setup for a reasonable price. Lastly, I haven’t had the opportunity to hear many others. Hey don, I know you have probably gotten this question about 300 times now but I’m going to ask just for my reference. With this borla S-Type system, is there much drone in the cabin when cruising say 50 and above? This truck will likely be my next vehicle if I can’t get a 1SS 1LE which I’m hoping for. But if not trail boss or at4. And how happy are you with the exhaust now after a couple of months after it’s broken in? Any leaks? How’s it holding up to our Canadian winter? It’s 304 stainless right? Thanks Don love the videos and keep it up!

    • @Donslife
      @Donslife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah the drone question. Just to make sure my definition of drone matches yours. I had a Magnaflow on my 6.2 Denali and it would hold an annoying midrange tone/frequency when at highway speed and low engine load. So a loud humming that you could almost feel. The Borla S type can be heard at all times, but has not come close to droning. I can have a conversation with the family overtop of any exhaust noise. I can even record videos and it doesn’t cause issues. No leaks either and when I take it to the carwash they tubes I can see come clean. 304 Stainless for sure. It settled a little after a month and I just adjusted the tips, super simple.

    • @Donslife

      I haven't heard the Touring for my truck, just a 5.3. It was an improvement from stock if you are looking for a little more grunt, but it does not compare to the S-Type. Neither drone which is really good, but to have the S-Type, you have to be okay with grunt every time you accelerate. Even feathering the throttle, you'll hear it. Also if you have a risk with annoying neighbors during cold starts, the touring is probably your safe bet. Mine roars like a lion for the first few seconds and then tames after warming up. As for the true dual - No I haven't heard one. I only looked into Cat-Back systems with a single connection

      It has the auto stop/start enabled by default every time your start the truck. The ‘eliminator’ let’s you choose the setting to be on or off by default when you start the truck. It remembers your setting. Yes I know I could just push the switch every time I get in the truck.
