    I just had my 4th dosage and it has improve my life DRAMATICALLY! It actually began working after the 1st dose and to be honest, I had some reservations about this treatment. However I'm glad I went with it. The advice I can give is have your GI doctor monitor your infusion level by checking your level THE DAY BEFORE your next scheduled infusion. This way your levels could be adjusted accordingly, never allowing your levels to drop to zero before your next infusion.

    Thank you for posting this. I am going for my first treatment on Saturday and have been terrified reading everyone's comments online. Watching your video and hearing about your experience really helped. I'm still scared but feel more confident because you shared your story. Thank you.

    I have been in your shoes. The benefits outweighed the risks. Until I was told today I have cirrhotic liver. So be careful about long term use of Remicade. I've been on it for over 2 years for Crohns. I've been in remission, but now I've got the liver issue to worry with.

      Yeah, sorry to hear! ... the Remacade is the worst for liver damage in the bio class of drugs. It has a 8.3% liver damage for the 100% of patients who uses it. I went over 10 years now without meds but now I'm coming out of a obstruction on my own but really considering a biologic now though. This is a lot worse than I remember and had Crohn's for right around 35 years. I also got osteoporosis for long term predizone use when I was younger.. just another reason I try to avoid the pharmas sh*t as much as I can.. Nothing good ever comes from it.

      my liver was swollen in the first place that's why I finally figured out it was Crohn's. what is going on with your liver? what are you going to do now if you don't mind me asking

      Nothing to fear, it's actually better than you think. The key is to have your doctor monitor infusion levels so they can made adjustments the day before infusion. Also, better to schedule your next infusion soon than later, you don't want you levels to drop below zero.

      @@petemendez6978 I will be starting Remicade within the next 4 weeks. Im confused by what you mean by infusion levels?

    • @petemendez6978
      @petemendez6978 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flmoseley8141 your doctor should monitor your infusion levels prior to your next scheduled infusion and make adjustments according. You do not want your medication levels to completely zero out a week or two before your next infusion.

    Thanks for sharing. I’ve had UC for 17 years. Tried just about every type of medicine, some worked well for quite a while, but been dealing with a flare up for the past 2 years. Tried Imuran with Prednisone a couple months ago and my symptoms got worse. Finally decided to try Remicade. Got my 2nd infusion last week and haven’t noticed any improvement. Debating whether I should go in for my 3rd infusion or discontinue and try different diets.
    Thanks again for sharing :)

      my1978z So very happy to share! Please don't give up on the Remicade just yet - Sometimes it takes time :) My doctor kept me on both prednisone and imuran while I started - A year later I still take imuran and an ASA in addition to Remicade! Hoping for the very best for you - 3rd times the charm?

      ProdiJay Always advocate for yourself. What you want for your OWN body matters more than what anyone tells you - Present your research and concerns to your doctor and don’t be afraid to push back. Here their side but also make Your’s heard and weigh your options accordingly.

    Great message. How have you been doing lately? I have read that it's very common (50%) to develop a resistance to the medication after as soon as one year.
