Two great days riding, with even more beautiful scenery, with a couple of vineyards thrown in between. Sounds like great fun to be had in Tuscany.

My partner and I were inspired by your fantastic Tuscani Tour that we had to do it ourselves. We returned yesterday after riding my GS across France, down the Italian Mediterranean coast to Pisa, we stayed for nine nights just outside Siena, toured all the places mentioned in your video, then returned via Lake Garda, the Brenner Pass, crossing Austria, Germany and France to Calais, then home. We met loads of great people, bikers and non-bikers, weather and food were amazing and best of all were the Tuscani roads.

Friday evening, I’m having a glass of chilled Leffe while watching you and your good lady cruising around the Tuscan countryside, what a terrific way to unwind at the end of the week! 😀 Would be great to hear your views of doing this sort of trip on the RT as opposed to yours (and mine) beloved GS’s, it’s been many years since I rode an RT, was very surprised how nimble it was! . . . but those roads - 'Desmo' this, V-twin that, even bacon-slicer Guzzi singles, no wonder they also make pretty good tyres - a scratcher's Heaven : )
Watching the video with morning coffee and nothing but the sounds of morning birds was a pure delight. The trip was of a lifetime. Thanks for the ride-a-long. Good catch of your sunglasses, mine would have been all scratched. Total sun is nice but sometimes rain is a good challenge to us riders. Didn't see any cobblestones, not my favorite either. Carol had the best ride with the guide knowing the road and could enjoy riding pillion on such roads. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Yes she did well there - Adrian is an expert rider and knows these roads like the back of his hand.....
I will give you $30 AUD if you peel that film off the tft, or at least flatten out that bubble. I can't see anything else.

I feel very cultured after watching this! I agree with not filming meal times but would you be able to take photos of the food as would love to know more about what is eaten on tour.
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing guys. Certainly a tour I will looking into for next year. Combining riding great roads on top of the range bikes on offer and dinning on authentic Italian food is a winner in my eyes.

I was lucky enough to tour Tuscany last July and the famous tuscan landscapes and more importantly the tuscan light that draws all the landscape painters were in full abundance

Hi both, got to be honest and say I preferred this tour to the Alaskan one. Tuscany is truly beautiful, and so verdant, presumably made more so by the unusually wet weather, and as you said for the older rider just the right mix of riding and sight seeing, and for what I could see good value for what was five star luxury. And me being on my third GS ADV I have somewhat overlooked the RT. Thank you.

Excellent presentation Mr. Flyer truly “amazing” have shared it with my team of relatively mature retirees from various industries including oil field divering and engineers and medical men etc. Quite a few GS and other BMW riders plus Ducati and Busa’s. Your relaxing tour is right up our street with good food, wine and plenty of coffee stops. Out of the ball game for 5-1/2 months with destroyed disc and vertebrae from bout of septicaemia at Christmas. Recovering well and just about to get back in the saddle of last years F900 XR- XT. Only 1000m on the clock so far. Your two videos have spurred me on, great stuff and many thanks.

Myself & some friends stayed in that very hotel in Cortona a few years ago. We were on our way back from Sorrento & the Amalfi Coast. A bit surreal to have the hotel lobby on the top floor. Our bikes were parked between the Hotel entrance and the restaurant entrance.

Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable. Agree with6 earlier comments that fewer, but longer, videos for your tours is the way to go. This approach keeps all your viewers happy. The downside is less output for your efforts but I suspect this wont be a problem for you. ATVB

This was a very enjoyable tour to watch. Spectacular locations and landscapes. I would love to do something like this, but sadly it is well out of my budget. I would have to do it on the cheap staying in cheap BnBs out of season or camping, but I guess the roads and beautiful towns would still be there.

Great set of videos! Glad to see you on an RT finally. They're great bikes! Put a better windscreen and bar risers on one and you're good to go. I bought one after watching lots of your videos (even though you favor GS) and dealer visits to evaluate both RTs and GSs. My physical stature and riding "likes" seem quite similar to your own and the RTs are simply a better fit. The leg position, as you mentioned, is a bit of an issue, but no bike is perfect. All other ergonomics are excellent.
Yes they are great bikes - got me thinking if I could live with one and lose the GS and Wing.....nah!!

Yes we locked the steering - we left the bikes with Kiko - our "tail end charlie" who looked after the bikes whilst we wandered around the town...
Great video, I’m hoping to tour Europe next summer and Tuscany looks like a great option. I have an RT (TFT model) and I’m curious what mount did you use on the handlebars, please? Thanks for a great video and it was nice to see your wife’s views because my wife will be on the back!

@@TheMissendenFlyer Got myself a GL Tour 22 last year after hesitating between, the 1250 1600 and I am still wondering if I made a mistake. Impossible here to test drive a Motorcycle unless a friend has one. I am so tented to go and trade it in but what if .... You know, the what if. LOL.

Excellent and very interesting video. although I am curious that you rode with the windshield down on the RT, even in the rain... how was that or was there a reason for it?
Only that it made for a better view out of my helmet mounted camera....

Nice videos Andy, thanks again. Have you any plans for a week or two long continental tour with just you and Mrs F? (Or even you and a riding mate). Just to see the other side of a tour in Italy, France or Spain or similar where you plan the routes, stops, food, sightseeing and accommodation yourselves. Perhaps something on the fly where you make the choices and decisions on the day and then describe the highs and lows? That would make for an interesting journey....!

Great comment, we've just returned from our own DIY Tuscani Tour, riding from the UK to Siena and back. All accommodation found as we travelled; fantastic, just do it and have an adventure.

Lovely, even without sun. Was the person in blue jacket ahead of you at around 9min, an advanced rider? I've just begun IAM and can see that they were actively positioning the bike ahead of the the next turn (rather than staying in the middle of the lane)

I get abs…how many aids do you need to enjoy fantastic scenery? If you are pushing your settings then, maybe the scenery is not important and the riding over-rides the scenery….looks fab either way 😀

Thank you - took a lot of effort that one but I was pleased with the results - it's how I'll do then in future (but likely a bit shorter).....
Great video of your tour. On a personal level I much prefer the longer video's like this rather than spreading it over weeks, you can always pause it if you choose to have a break 👍 I suppose the downside is that you're more aware of all the adverts but hey ho, still a very good watch and your thoughts on an extended ride of the new RT make me wonder about my GS. I do struggle with the design of the RT front end which isn't to my liking but still an excellent touring bike.
Thanks for the feedbak - also of cousre if I make longer videos I get fewer views overall for the same work!! - I could have split this in two for example...anyway, a bit of an experiment only doing 2 long episodes to see how it does compared with my recent Portugal and Alaska tours (which were lots of 20 minute episodes).
I must say, possibly the best tour series you have done. Great filming, narrative and scenery. Tuscany appears a must-do tour.

Comment No. 2: I did put on bar-backs, lower pegs, and a daylong seat on my 2017 RT. I has made that bike an All Day bike.

Yes the go pro showed it. The sword in the stone was cool but the chopped off arm bobes gross, very icky.
Another great video TMF, thanks for sharing your trip with us. Dynamic mode doesn't "hang on to the revs a bit longer" it stiffens the suspension and re-maps the throttle response, perhaps you're thinking of the DCT Goldwing? My favourite mode for sure :)
Great tour. If you did it by yourself out of pocket you would be out much more and see much less. So winner appears to me.

Thanks for my Wednesday morning ride through a small part of Tuscany. The ride through the tree lined route, not unlike UK in many ways...better roads though,. l believe Mr's flyer is correct about having a home base, less stress....The stops, points of interest at villages, the photography first class Andy...Bike touring at its best....

What were you using to mount the RAM kit onto the handlebars? One thing about the RT is it presents certain challenges to the motovlogger. I use an adapter that fits to where the BMW badge is located in the centre. I might spec the tubular handlebars on my next one.

enjoying the series on Touring in Tuscany! One thing though is you keep going on about how fantastic the food is but never saying what you actually eaten? Beans on toast? There is no need to film people eating just take a photo or two of whats on your plate! I am sure all or some of the other riders must have done the same at some point? oops at 40.39 i get my wish Thanks! something I was always told off for not showing inside the Taverna with the food on my videos riding around Cyprus!
Yes I get told off about it too - trouble is I;'m usually hungry and eat it before i remember to photograph it!! Must try harder....

I am an adventure bike rider (Tiger 1200) and I also drive a white van for work and quite frankly I’m a bit fed up of you mentioning vans in your videos, they are entitled to the roads just as much as you are, so please give it a rest.

Awesome. What a life you lead. Just a little bit envious. However, I did go out on my bike for 3 hours today here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. It was a very chilly 14 degrees C when I set off but got to 20 degrees at midday. It is winter here in Australia after all. 😎

I Hate the Rain specially while touring its so Uncomfortable and Slippery THe ABS Kicks in Quickly & also the Brakes don't work 100%

No - not a chance since it's a Honda feature.
@@TheMissendenFlyer me and lads where chatting about the GS and other boxer BMWs and we all agreed that is they matched the auto box to the boxer we’d all be moving from our current bikes

I'd never purchase a laminated jacket. Unless riding through winter. It's imperative to be able to remove the waterproof layer in hot conditions.

It's doable (we did nearly 40C last summer in the US) - need to open the vents and only wear a base layer but it is possible....
