I just got the SE which was $35k. Drives great and not AWD. No need for AWD if you live in Florida. You’re absolutely right about the smooth responsiveness of this car. Plus I get about 42-43 mpg average. I do think it’s a fun comfy ride and much more affordable than the luxury types ie BMW!
Nice review. I also have the 2025 XSE but in FWD. Just got home from work and drove in sports mode to have some fun. Love the instant torque in this car with this motor. It can definitely get you in trouble if you're not careful. This car can easily get up to speed and over speed limit without even knowing it, especially in sports mode. Penalty, of course, is hit on mpg. My 28 mile drive home will usually get 50-53 mpg. Tonight I got 43 mpg driving in sports mode and going 80+ mph.
@@Big.W. No, I've not used it much. I think I've only used it once since getting the car. It's a cvt technically, and changing the gear didn't feel like it made much difference other than sound.
@@kinw5648 I still do it in mine, if I’m coming around a corner, I’ll have it downshifted for that wound up push through the turns. Or if I’m coming down a big hill or coming to a stop from 60mph. I have a 2025 Camry Le awd on 19s
I've never seen someone have this much fun in a Camry lol It's pretty much the only AWD midsize available aside from the Sonata and K5. Altima and Legacy got the axe and I don't see either of them coming back.
Awesome review Matt 👍 You have gained a follower from Aussieland 🇦🇺 I test drove the top of the range here which is the SL and was super impressed. I never thought I would say that about a Camry. Those leather seats super comfy, heaps and heaps of torque, extremely refined and super reliable. Unfortunately as a loyal Mazda owner they have lost me due to them being slow bringing out a hybrid. Well done Toyota you nailed it and Matt wishing you all the best ❤️
Ive noticed toyota really has done a good job making their vehicles more torquey. My 2024 tacoma takes off like crazy and i can throw it around curves with confidence
I love the wheel design. To be honest; I thought the slower hybrid drivetrain (compared to the V6) would weaken sales, but you're right....selling like hotcakes! I see them all over the Atlanta metro area. Another great review, thanks for posting!
It’s funny cos when the Camry first came out, I genuinely thought it would drive the same as the old one but all the reviews I’ve watched even down to Motortrend whos not usually very nice to Toyota, have all ranked the Camry above its competition. I mean it’s basically hybrid only midsize option that gives you this much HP, AWD and high MPG’s
I wish somebody would do a video to explain how the AWD in the Camry actually works. Don’t know if it’s worth it. Questions like does it work at speed? Is it only for starting in slippery conditions? Can it be engaged manually? Those type of questions please
Great video Matt.. im still looking for a new car really leaning on picking the Camry .. im thinking of giving up the extra and getting the SE awd model.. could you test out the se and compare the value to xse..
My friend just replaced his Accord with one of these and it's a real stunner. I miss the V6, though, as it was a real animal, but this thing seems really punchy.
Hey Matt. Since the redesign, I'm not so sure about the front grill. To me, it resembles some kind of net? It's not terrible, i think it's not that attractive. Has anyone else brought that up? Your thoughts? Otherwise, great design. Great work as always!
Thanks for the review, good to see The Japanese keeping the sedan alive. I still don't understand why Honda does not have a All Wheel Drive Accord? I actually like the new Accord, but living in the Northeast I want my sedans to have all wheel drive. This Camry seems promising. Question does the Toyota crown use the same hybrid system? I drove the Crown and I thought it had good punch as well when accelerating. The crown was solid, really well put together.
Do you know whether the passenger seat has lumbar support function with the power seat? I’m modding that with my SE. I’m thinking of upgrading because there are numerous upgrades with the XSE
Great video as always, after renting a 2025 Camry back in July and it was really uncomfortable during my 12 hour trip. After 5 hours I needed to adjust the lumbar
I think Toyota could've just massively increased hybrid allocation and still kept the non-hybrid 2.5 and the 3.5 V6 around. This was just unnecessary. This generation is just s comprehensive facelift with everything mechanically being the same so keeping the powertrains around would be zero extra work. In the Gulf region and Eastern Europe they have the hybrid optional and the 2.5L with 8-speed as a base powertrain.
Nice review, but that’s expensive. 43K for a Camry… That wireless charger might be a deal breaker… I can’t imagine not having a place to put my phone in a brand new car.
The new hybrid Camry is actually fun to drive. Very quick startup and smooth riding. Responsive torque feedback with overall great mpg. Plus a nicely equipped one is less than $40k. ($30-$40)
What? Exhaust tips are SUPPOSED to be black from driving? GTOH with that nonsense, all that is is unmitgated DI at work. Look at VWs and BMWs from the late 2000's, there's COATS of DI carbon stuck to their pipes and none on any of their Japanese contemporaries. None. 2013 G sedan with 205K km, bought in 2016? Shiny stainless pipes. Same for the 2007 HR roadster that revs to 7,500 all Summer, clean pipes. DI = engineered death.

One of my potential next new car i like the new camry
Definitely sounds like the most fun of the bunch, maybe I like the look of the accord more though
I agree! The Accord rides a bit softer, but the X Factor in the Camry is the engine. So zippy while still giving a comfortable ride.
dont forget something that he rides xse which is stiff compared to the le or xle which will be softer suspension

Those wheels looks good
It sounds good in my opinion
Nice follow up on the Camry. I wish I could have gotten the AWD. The front wheel is still a nice ride. For a commuter enthusiast like myself.
225 hp for the fwd and 232 hp for awd (total system output), there is a slight difference
The awd does give extra 7hp, over the front, not a ton, but as you said it also adds extra torque of the line 😊
While it probably won't happen, id love to see the iforce max 4 banger put in the camry.
This power train in a two door Solara would be fantastic.
I wish somebody would do a video to explain how the AWD in the Camry actually works. Don’t know if it’s worth it. Questions like does it work at speed? Is it only for starting in slippery conditions? Can it be engaged manually? Those type of questions please
I can imagine if you don't need all the bells & whistles of the XSE, you can save a bit on an SE.
They did a great job on it. My main appeal is a spare tire 😂
Great video Matt.. im still looking for a new car really leaning on picking the Camry .. im thinking of giving up the extra and getting the SE awd model.. could you test out the se and compare the value to xse..
I already reviewed the SE and compared the value back in the spring. Here's the video: th-cam.com/video/cPu5bVUcI5I/w-d-xo.html

it only feels punchy, it's not actually fast and the engine is weird.

@rakhsiprayogo82 im good... But the Camry is a seller for a reason...
I hope they make a GR model or something special.
I’m hoping for at least 340 horsepower plug in hybrid version like the Toyota crown prime
Not happening. Nobody would buy it.
Brb, 55k dollar Camry 😂
Marked up to 67k
They won't. Toyota is now in the process of reducing variety to cut costs by streamlining production.
There is no Toyota Crown Prime.
They’ll eventually add a prime version which will make it perfect.
Thoughts on XSE vs XLE?
XLE
Just comes down to personal preference on the vibe you want.
XLE is what I got. Tested and drove both. I chose comfort and luxury over sportiness. For sportiness duties I own a manual Z06.

9:30 that's probably a preproduction car.
I want the Camry for it's retractable moon roof so it feels like a convertible lol. What other cars in this price range gives you this?
Looks nice, sporty but that powertrain boring soulless, not thank you.. they should have kept the v6 as an option

Toyota did this because they had to comply with CAFE standards. It’s the same reason why the Accord dropped the 2.0T
@@Blank00 With Trump having won we might see some changes to that.
@mattmaranmotoring please share whether you think this is more fun than the 2025 civic hybrid and the Si
Fun is subjective. Si is more engaging than the hybrid and the Camry, but Camry and Civic Hybrid are faster.
