    Classic! And still great 14 years later. Smart viewers might also notice how 9 / 10 "domain experts" will disagree with every single point he makes.

    With a little more finance and operations, this video is a boiled down MBA in a nutshell. Not bad. It's clean and understandable. I'm getting my MBA this winter and I'm taking this all in lol.

    It feels like this video is stuck on fast-forward. I don't know what tools he's using to pace himself, but he definitely needs to upgrade to something that can help him slow down. He's NOT pitching to VCs right now; he's explaining something to a classroom audience.
    I'm just glad my computer isn't broken because I seriously thought the speed of the video playback was off. Now I see it's just him! :) All kidding aside, the info in the video is ok... provides at least some useful guidance.

    • @DavidSRose
      @DavidSRose 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The goal is the same, even for a five minute "quick pitch". But instead of the +/-13 slide sequence I discuss in the video, try something like:
      Logo / Name / Tag
      Team
      Market / Pain
      Product / Solution
      Business Model / Financials
      Unique Advantage
      Raise / Valuation

    Best way to pitch vc...

  • @ratholin
    @ratholin 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    So basically, keep things dumbed down and pretty, people will spend more if you can keep their attention without making them think very much. Anything that can draw their attention away like a lecturn, or the color of your shirt or a typo will send them off to la la land. I think this should be called. How to pitch to a VC with ADD.

    He's a bit annoying, but that's because he's on a timer (15 min).
    He also didn't suggest the dumber the idea the better it is. On the contrary, he say that vision and realism is key @ 4:25. Stupid ideas have no vision or realism.
    I thought it's informational. Well, to each their own.

    The irony makes me laugh, where he slams Bill Gates' pitching technique whilst praising Steve Jobs....all the while he talks about (and talks with) Power Point presentations...a Microsoft product. So to me, in the eyes of a VC, the most powerful thing to get their money is have a GREAT idea about a product or Service that people will demand.
