jonas is such a humble champion... don't underestimate him a being low key guy... .. he just keep getting stronger every stage Yellow jersey is a possibility tomorrow
Everyone seem to say JV will just getting stronger every stage, but it can just as easy to say he will get more tired and less able to recover just like ever other tdf racer! if hard racing will make a racer stronger, they are should go for 3 grand tour instead of otherwise around!
Not tomorrow no. If he can avoid loosing more than seconds tomorrow he will be happy. He is just not in shape and hasn't even reconned the route. If he has any chance this tour it will be in the last few days of it.
@@mracer8i don't get why people Say he will be stronger. There is an argument to be made that he will actually fade because of lack of training volume.
You think it is a possibility that JV can beat Pogi by over 50 second and Remco by 45 second on a 25.3km(16 miles) itt? wow!!
Do you have any inside info on what kind of motor they'll be adding to his bike?
Man, Jonas and Visma are certainly playing it close to the chest this year. Cleverly so, of course. But I cannot shake the feeling that they are underselling it with both Jonas and Wout (shoutout to Wout for bringing his number to the kid in the background). Might also be wishful thinking on my part.
Jonas is not in his top form yet(only 4 weeks to prepare), he'll definitely be at top in the crucial moments.
The way I see it, Jonas is still building up form, Pogacar with the Giro in his legs will go down in form. Week 3 will be the real judge of the TdF. Like Jonas said "our time will come"
Im not so sure about that, and im actually rooting for jv too. I think rather they are lacking the cards to play, so they are holding on for dear life and cannot execute the plan they wanted - mountains where jonas is strong will be so hard without sepp also. I think only jonas himself can pull through this, and he still isnt 100%. I also think that he will vastly underperform in time trials this year because of lack of huge preparations, another of his big strengths lacking support. We shall see, but at this point the odds look in favor of tadej, but time till tell how vingegaard turns out this year.
This time trial will reveal a lot i think.
@@gg05irgm What do you think after the time trial yesterday? I was quite impressed with Jonas. However, it also revealed that Wout truly is not close to being his normal impressive form. Not surprising after his crash but a blow. And you are absolutely right about the high montains without Sepp. I hope Matteo's form also progresses through the weeks a bit so he can stay with Jonas a little longer.
In any case, I'm absolutely with you: This is Tadej's Tour to lose and I don't expect him to majorly blow up in week 3. But I guess, we will see. :)

Without much help in the mountains, this TdF will be a true test for Jonas. He will have to do it on his own. It will be interesting. UEA looks crazy strong in mountains. It will be hard to defeat them. Also, it is sad to me that Roglic also does not have much help in the mountains (where is Jay Hindley?). However, he is no longer at his best. He is now on the Ayuso/Landa/Almeida/Yates level... and he used to smoke them. I wish he could compete with Pog/Vinge
He's the best TT guy , but only at the TDF 🤔
Only in the later stages of the TDF. I would expect Pog and Remco to both be better in week 1, but Jonas to have an edge in week 3, if they had all come to this tour at 100%. I don't think Jonas is that much stronger than his GC competitors. I think what makes him a great GC rider is that he can handle the fatigue of a stage race really well and stay strong for longer.
@@joelecho Definitely. If Jonas can be top 10 tomorrow and loose max a minute he will be very happy. He is not in shape and hasn't even tried the route. Last year he rode the TT route many many times before the tour. This year... no. No chance at all to win it tomorrow. Mostly likely Remco wins, and Pog gets top 5. Jonas hopefully top 10. Maybe 7 or 8.
If Jonas only loses ~20/30 seconds tomorrow it's not too bad. All of Jonas' stages are yet to come, I think he can take time stages 14,15 and definitely 19-21.
You're dreaming. What happened last year does not apply this year. According to you, forever and ever, Tadej should have had a crisis in the 17th stage 😊.
@@Pipe_JL but also according to that logic Pogi can go 1-2mins down on GC and he will smash everyone on last TT just like he did in 2020 lol. Every year its different.
If Jonas is that much better then Pogi on the high mountain, then tdf is over and there is no point on GC racing!
Seems like Pogi was nursing his wrist injury last year and came out swinging, only to blow up from a preparation deficit.
Yet oddly, this year, all ive heard, "Jonas's only going to get stronger as the race goes."
Maybe I'm missing something?

Yes no much power on his legs..he will lose 30sec-1min on tadej. But normal..
Why? He beat Tadej decisevly in TTs in the previous two Tours.

I think Remco has a real shot of taking the Yellow Jersey in tomorrow’s TT.
No way. He’ll win the stage yes, but Pogi keeps the yellow easily.
Come back and roast me tomorrow if that does happen but I don’t see Remco taking 45 sec on pog in a 22km TT

Not long enough...Remco will win the TT, probably, but will NOT take that much time. POGI is a very good tt guy.....wouldn't surprise me if POGI were to win the tt....
that would be a really strong ride, the course is too short for big time gaps
Remco can gain abit time here, he is going to lose alot of time in next stages with big climbs for sure.
