that is so exciting. i just ordered the X1 Carbon. I didnt know this feature was included. I will have no end of entertainment colorizing models....forget doing real work.
Takes a lot of time for these complex models. It's why it would be better for designers to publish pre-painted models for everyone to enjoy. I have to go through this for every print.
This looks so easy man. I'm studying up while my p1s with ams is shipping. I've been designing some toys for my kids for Christmas and ima be printing like crazy until then. Awesome video man. I subbed
Thanks for the great video! I did learn a few things about the painting. But overall I'm glad to see I have been doing it right. I always wondered if there is a faster way, but I see it's a tedious task for everyone! Depending on the model of course. Thanks again!
4600 color changes.. wow jezus. You will end up with a huge pile of material waste?.. that's kinda a bummer. Perhaps u could better print the bowser in one single color and paint it with model paint.. I would never dare such a print with my bambu lab; with the pretty big risk of failure / insane long printing time. One color would take +-9 hours?
He actually printed it and it failed multiple times. I seriously cannot see the point in trying that. I see the AMS as a simple solution for a low number of Color changes. Bowser with that many changes is just a bad choice for the ams.
I use the AMS for 2 colored objects max.. but most times i just throw in 3-4 rolls of PETG so i dont have to look at refilling my rolls for a while or use the AMS when there's only 3-4 color shifts throughout the entire print.. with a flag for a country for example. @@Blei0
@@Blei0 well, I’ve actually been looking and apparently the Enraged Rabbit Carrot Feeder for Voron/Klipper is natively supported up to 9 colors and (not officially) up to 12 I’ve seen. For Prusa, apparently some people have made mods up to 12 as well. But I also disagree with people who have said that the Prusa and ERCF are, “Just as easy and reliable” as the AMS….. I know we’ve seen failures on this channel but from printing parts for my wife’s small business that are multicolor (usually 4-6)…. The only failures I’ve had have been due to damp filament layer adhesion issues. The AMS works great and for the bulk multicolor printing I do…. It’s totally reliable and the waste is completely reasonable for the end product and profit. Like…. I understand waste filament isn’t great when we’re talking about in the grand scheme of things but people saying “just paint it”….. when talking about profits that’s hours of unpaid labor that can be done by a machine with a level of waste that doesn’t even begin to cut into the profit margins.
Press save once in a while 😉 I’ve lost too much work when I’ve not saved and there’s been no auto save. On things like this you don’t always want to do it twice… [edit literally after I posted this - around 32:00 - you say to save 3 times hehe]
Was really interested in that SpaceMouse Pro until I saw 13:36. 🙂 I'm just getting into 3D modeling/CAD and would love some fluid, intuitive way to maneuver the camera in 3D space.
I wish you're being successful being a salsa dancer. But I can't respect you for leaving almost one million subscribers hanging and vanish without any explanation, people are worried that you had passed away, while you are literally dancing salsa.
With the rotation - I think it's always rotating around the center of the plate (or some other fixed point), NOT a point centered in front of your viewport, which is what you would probably expect. It's really annoying particularly when zoomed in a lot.
Question: You make a point of using the circle tool as a last resort because it creates triangles. what is the downside to making triangles? just a bigger file size?
I came across your video because I was searching of a way for me to paint a contoured area and the sphere or circle tool is just taking too long. I wish bambulab could come up with a straight or "free flow contoured lines" and force the line to color through the triangles so the color borders are more precise instead of jagged. Precision is not an issue when printing small objects, but if we enlarge it to say 1000% the printer changes colors often and the jagged lines definitely show up.
Great video - thanks for sharing your process. Do you sell your models, give them as gifts, or collect them? This model is clearly an investment of time and money, so I'm curious.
So 1.6 kg of material is like 30 dollars. Would be cool if bambu can nail down a tool changer. Good tutorial on painting though. When I first got my Kickstarter I printed Leonardo ninja turtle and the slicer wasn’t quite good enough for painting like it is now. I basically manually painted it.
Hey! I’m Lucy and I work for ARK Media (KOMI & affiliates) & would love to feature a comp of your videos on our pages. 😊 Can we use them with full credit to you? 🥰
Wouldn't it be easier and better if you build the 3D model and assign colours on separate objects/sub assemblies which the slicer then reads and select the assigned colour which you have configured your printer with? This is a mesh you've downloaded, thus why you're doing it in the slicer here, but I still would prefer assigning the colours in my "3D modeller/CAD/whatever you're using to make models" and just use the slicer for generating the operations (G-code etc) for the printer. The slicers I've used are generally rather dumb when it comes to making any kind of edits, and they're not supposed to either IMHO... ;) I only use resin printers to print the designs/assemblies I make in CAD (SolidWorks and Fusion 360) so multi-coloured prints are a luxury I can't afford, but it sure as hell seems to be a very nice feature!

Make more of these coloring videos!!!!! Ngl it’s so soothing and comforting

You have one thing most of us don't have: patience 👀
Nicely done Mihai ;)

This is great! It's so nice to have you share your process like this!❤
I hadn't played with gap fill at all, I can see how useful it is!!!
You are so welcome!
Great video. Thank you for sharing!
Wow 🤩 so efficient and so many colors!
Thanks for the nice tips and workflow.
You’re welcome 😊
Excellent tutorial. Please do more of these!
Why didn't I look for this video before painting an entire model by hand with the mouse circle brush? Nice vid, man.
This is a great video. I learned so much about the coloring process in the Bambu Sclicer. Thank you for sharing!
Very nice tutorial, Mihai! I was curious about the painting process :) Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you so much for this. I just needed to make some minor painting changes and this tutorial was perfect.
the best 3d print youtuber
I’m waiting in The delivery of my X1 Carbon this video is very informative to me who is just getting into printing. Thank you.
Thank you for the much needed tutorial! 😁
Very well demonstrated. Thank you for this.

5 days! I´m astonished
Thanks for the tips!
Love this, maybe you can do time lapses of the process. It would be cool to see it on other models and prints too.
He sounds like Mario, so it fits

@@Blei0I Guess….. what would you use instead? I don’t feel like other multi material units are any better.
@@johnbrooks7350 For this model: I don't know. There are just too many colors for any system I know - at least for printers that are affordable.

Thanks for the video im sure a lot of printers learned a lot of things about painting
I hope so!

this is amazing. I would be so nervous the entire time for almost 5 days....lol I would be afraid to sleep or leave my house while it was printing...
Perfect! Thank you for this video! Subbed

Have you released these colorized versions anywhere?
Thank you so much for this video
Great content like always 😁

I was looking for something like this. I just got P1S and I had an headache trying to paint a 3d model.
Great painting tutorial. Only an hour yo paint that? That woukd take me 5hrs to do lol
Now for the dry Bowser Arc 😅
Hi, I bought a Bambulab A1 with AMS, can I add another AMS to have 8 printing colors? Or it only works on carbon x1 or higher.
I like others am asking. do you offer the printed/colored file? Dawn
Hi! I do not seem to have the paint bucket in my Bambu Studio. Is there something I need to click to make if show up?
Same flow works in PrusaSlicer
Thanks for this amazing video! Is there a place to download pre painted models for bambu? Can you share your 3ml project file?

Yup, hoping for a Bambu toolchanger as well!
What model file do you use? 3mf?
Do you take orders?

Any fails in 5 days of printing?

can u add stl link to description but actual doesnt work and all list of used filaments?
but from a bussines sidepoint not very profitable if the cost for filament is already 35dollar unless you at least triple that price? :)
