- Curry breaks single-season record, ties single-game mark for 3s in OT win.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Stephen Curry's 3-pointer from beyond 30 feet with 0.6 seconds left in overtime gave the Golden State Warriors a 121-118 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.
Curry finished with 46 points as his winning shot was his 12th 3-pointer, tying the NBA single-game record. He also broke his own NBA record for 3s in a season, leaving the new mark at 288.
With the win, Golden State became the first team this season to clinch a playoff berth.
Curry, the league's scoring leader and reigning MVP, missed about six minutes of the third quarter with a left ankle injury. He drove to the basket and rolled the ankle before Thunder guard Russell Westbrook stepped on it.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 37 points, but he fouled out in the first minute of overtime.
The Warriors won the previous meeting with the Thunder 116-108 at home on Feb. 6. The teams play again Thursday at Golden State.
Oklahoma City led by 12 in the fourth quarter, but the Warriors rallied. Klay Thompson made a 3 from the left corner to cut Oklahoma City's lead to 100-99. It was the first 3 of the game for any Warriors player other than Curry.
Durant responded with a 3-pointer with 14.5 seconds left to put the Thunder up 103-99.
Thompson quickly scored a layup, then the Thunder turned the ball over, and Andre Iguodala was fouled with 0.7 seconds left. Iguodala made both free throws to tie the score at 103 and force the extra period.
STAR POWER
Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy attended the game. The Cowboys played in the Sugar Bowl last season.
TIP-INS
Warriors: Curry has made a 3-pointer in an NBA-record 129 straight games. ... C Anderson Varejao played in his third game with the Warriors. The Cleveland Cavaliers traded him to Portland and the Trail Blazers waived him, allowing Golden State to pick him up.

Hi to 2050's people. We're in 2018. This video still incredible isn't it?
Yes it is. This is the best basketball game EVER played. Just breath taking amazement. Steph Curry, WOW
Yea. I'm Steph Curry at age of 62. I can still remember it. Best game ever I played!!
Replying to solidify my place in 2050.
This comment should be on top lets everyone give him a likes so the future 2050's fans could see these easily.
I was here too!! It's 2019 now so.. Oh Yeah Yeah!
His last shot broke my brain when I watched it live. I was not mentally prepared for that. I went for a walk around the block, questioning key aspects of my life at that moment.

The funniest shit is when everybody in the crowd put their hands on their head when Curry got the ball for the last shot.
hahahahahahahahaahhaha!!!! me the same!! and so many ppl bending down over when that shit splashed down!!!!!!
"They do have a timeout decide not to use it, Curry from way downtown BANG!! BANG!!! OH WHAT A SHOT FROM CURRY!"
Absolutely iconic. If you could only pick one game that embodied Curry's greatness throughout his entire career, this is the one you go with no questions asked
His 62 pt game could too
54 against NY is up for conversation because it was his first “curry” game that defined him and many recognize as a benchmark for what the game became today. That game was one of the first games we ever saw of multiple fast, deep, acrobatic no hesitation looking 3’s in which the rest of the league slowly started to emulate.
I mean that NBA Finals game 4 is pretty good contender now. Considering the context, I think that one should be 1A and this game is 1B.
But also his 17 in a playoff OT, that game as well.
edit: With that all being said, I think this game is singlehandedly the greatest regular season game and performance of all time. It felt like game 7 of a finals series. And although there has definitely been players who have scored more in a single game, including Curry himself, this game is just different.
Nobody really knows or remembers this game but the year prior to this he scored 51 on mavs and was on absolute fire. Also earlier 2016 he played clippers at oracle and was absolute clutch.
@@brayanbaez1584nobody remembers this game?? You crazy… he did this against Westbrook an KD when they was at the height of they game! An to cap it off with that deep 3 will always be one of his most remembered games!
“Bang, Bang! Oh what a shot from Curry!”

nobody gonna mention igoudala clutch free throws
nah his free throws made history cause that win gave them 73-9
+Remmark Sunga your right dude ...
if klay didnt hit that 3 and the reverse layup, iggy would of never got that chance
he got blocked in game 7 and ruined the chance to be back to back champs
+Carmelo Martine you can't blame iggy for that, it was just a superhuman play from Lebron.
Everybody's talking about Curry's outstanding performance, but no one realized that Klay had a quiet *32-point game.* Dray tallied *2 points, 14 rebounds, 14 assists, 6 steals, and 4 blocks* stat-line, and Iggy's *two clutch free-throws* forced the game into overtime. This game is one of the most intense and exciting in basketball history! February 27, 2016, will be remembered as a historic day in the NBA.

Because KD left
So what now? It's not like he used to pay his OKC fans rent. He's just a player who moved on, like once Shaq did and many many others.
And you can easily name him the most likeable player that's ever been in the NBA :)
Because of Durant.

I watched this live on TV. Will never forget the feeling when curry drained that 3. Best game of all time in my opinion.
I was working at an oyster bar in a hard rock casino in Northern California at the time. Me and my buddy (who was the head chef at the time) couldn’t get off until half way through the third quarter. The sports book was right infront of our restaurant and it was PACKED. We got off , ordered a bunch of drinks and freaked out with about 500 fellow sports fans as Steph drained that shot. Half of the people were on their knees because they just lost money and the rest of us were jumping for joy either because they won money or they were warriors fans like us lol. We almost got into a fight with a guy that lost 10k on his bet 😂😂😂😂
One of the greatest games ever. Was lucky enough to watch this live.

The Finest Mind boring who cares! Curry is the most fun player to watch period and GS!
The Finest Mind this one was better, plus the Westbrook game wasn’t nationally televised

Looking back this game is truly iconic
It's not too early for nba tv to have this game as a hardwood classic.
Klay and Iggy also did a HUGE part of this, this aint just one of Steph's best games, might also be GSWs top 5 all time plays as a team
@Tempo Changer yeah but if it wasn't for Klay and Iggy they would have fell short. Klay's last three kept them alive, and so did his layup, and klay also tied the game in a crucial stage. Remember Iggy's two freethrows after the buzzer? If he missed one, and they would have lost. So yeah.
It's a team game but Steph outshine them

Klayrobrown I still remember watching. Saturday night. Everyone's phone kept exploding every time Steph broke another record. Few in life will ever be as good at anything as Curry was in this game.
it was a good game but what about when he made thirteen threes
Aceman59 it wasn't as good. We know he can do that, but this game when he is competing for the best in the world
Easily the greatest shooting performance by Curry except knowing him i bet hes gonna do this even more during his career
Peek the Ankylosaurus not his best shooting night but it’s one of em. he hit 13 vs the pels.
I love how this performance is low key still taken for granted. Some of the 3s he made this game was on a different level, I don’t think I’ve seen Steph have a game where he made 3s as tough as the ones in this game. Crossovers, behind the backs, shooting over bigger guys, 30 footers, wow
April of 2021 he made tough shots just like this I'm truly blessed to watch this man in his prime
That’s what I’m saying. We know steph can hit some tough shots but man, this game was just filled with crazy 3 pointers.

He don't know you lil bro
I remember flipping through the channels on my television cus we don't have cable, and I came across this nba game and for me it was special. I was witness to Steph and his 3's and I was so riled up that my sister kept telling me to shut up. My mom was outside working in the yard, and told me that when done I will need to help her. I saw them move into overtime and got goosebumps, I then saw that 40ft 3 to win the game by steph and that moment was forever engraved into my mind. I have never been a basketball fan until I found out about the Golden State warriors and I sure love it.
Omg same I started watching basketball last year and started with the Knicks but I didn't like their play and I started watching the Warriors for some unknown reason and I loved their play and this was before I even found out about them being in the finals and actually winning I didn't even know what the finals were back then I had no clue about a basketball before
I don't think we'll ever see a more skilled shooter. He doesn't miss. Handle is supreme. Passing is elite. Leads the league in steal @ 2.1pg. Stephen Curry is a basketball enigma. He's so accurate that when our great grandkids watch these highlights, they're going to think we edited his shots into makes. The same laws don't apply to him.
Wait till I come in the game tho

This was just unreal . He lead his team in points and help lead them to a comeback victory. Like this is one of Steph Curry most Legendary games yet
Game that changed basketball forever
