If you ever want to try fishing the Ocotillo lakes I have a community card. Big fish in there. Certain areas are overfished but I’ve got a few really solid spots for big fish.
I fish everyday all day that's all I do I fished Ocotillo Lakes quite a bit I caught a lot of bass on swimbaits in there finally just recently the security made me leave crappy cuz that was a good place to go I will take you up on that offer that anytime in trade of showing you spots I know official hundred ninety-one areas over the valley for bass
im not a bass fisherman but I felt so bad yesterday *for catching the same bass twice* I was at lake wohlford in san diego, I was using meal worms on crappie jigs and I saw this 4lb bass and I threw it and caught him instantly, I felt bad removing him off the nest but I grab the wax worms in the container and put them in his mouth as my recompense for tourturing him, so he doesn't starve, when he gets those super red eyes... later after him guarding his bed, also enjoyed those worms, I put one on a hook and toss it in the nest again! he ate it, I set the hook and brought it in.
thanks Geoff, another great video...can you comment on what makes the Klash 9 superior to other hard swimbaits? It seems to be very popular here in the States and in Japan
Thanks for watching dude! I think it’s the ability to switch between different style of baits but only owning one. You can crank it down, glide it, burn it, slow roll it. It’s a fantastic concept, just sucks that the accessories needed to be able to fish it so many ways, is hard to find
Caught 5 at your first lake the other day on the bull gill. I gotta try the docks next time. I always worry that one of the owners is gonna yell at me lol
@@crazybassfisher It is. Got a quick question for you. I know most swimbaits you use are surface baits but for the ones that aren’t how do you keep the snags out? These Ponds have so much weird structure that grab my swimbait even if it’s only 3 feet below the surface. It’s frustrating worrying about losing expensive swimbaits.
Hey man what size Varial on the monster drive? And then if that’s a 150 size reel then what size reel would be best for the k9? I’m using a Tatula 300 right now and it feels kinda strong for it. I have a 117 Varial on it now so maybe that’s why? Idk.
Have u tried the one way glide yet on that bait seems like a really cool action an would seem like it would get crushed especially near walls an retainment walls.
Hey Geoff, I usually fish braid to leader on my big swimbaits just because I know braid can last a while but I've been considering switching to flouro. How long do you let a spool of line sit on your reel before you respool? And do you have any spooling tips? I've tried to use flouro on some of my lighter gear but I couldn't get a cast out without a backlash and just got too frustrated and switched back to braid
Whatever is working for you my man, keep doing. If I’m fishing hard, I’ll switch out spools every 7-10 trips. The thing with flouro is that it slips off the spool so fast and so smooth that backlashes happen quite frequently, especially with a brand new spooled up reel. I always normally have to adjust the brakes on my reel and really thumb the line to get it just right. After the first trip, it normally becomes easier to cast
As always, It was an awesome video, and I really enjoyed watching you catch those bass on the DRT K9. What size varial handle do you have on your Antares DC MD? I'm thinking about getting another DRT varial handle to put onto a new reel, if I get a new swimbait setup. If I get one, I'm debating between the 100mm or the 110mm varial handle, which one do you think I should try and get, if I get a new swimbait setup? I already have a 95mm and 117mm varial handle, and I like both, but I want something that is in-between those two sizes. Once again, great video!
Thanks for watching my dude! I have the 100 mm on the Antares at the moment and I love it. I have a 110 as well but I use that for my Calcutta conquest 400, I think the bigger handle fits the larger size reel better. I think the 100 fits 200-300 size reels perfect
Hey Geoff, I was wondering what other rods work well for the klash 9 that just really feel like they were made for the bait that isn’t a drt pulse rod and also what reel you would recommend since the Antares dcmg has such a steep price tag. Thanks.
Well, check out the dobyns fury or dobyns champion rods. The 807 would fish the K9 money. For reels, a simple tranx 300 or curado 300 would be perfect for the bait. Just make sure to get a faster gear ratio reel!
@@crazybassfisher thanks man, I was think about getting an f5 ghost code for the K9, or maybe one of the ldc production model rods, have you used either of those for the klash 9?
Bro IMX Pro 965 swbr or OROCHI Leviathan? Gonna get the the Leviathan Omega if I can when they come back available. But if not which of those two? I’m only into the 6-7” 2-4oz glides right now. Also looking to get into Single hook soft baits. So I’m looking for a do all kinda rod for now. I own the Tequila Bacc P5 now. So which would compliment that rod best? Thanks 👍🏻
Well, I can’t speak from experience on either of those rods due to me never fishing them. From what people tell me though, the imx is more better suited for bottom contact baits such as hudds and soft baits, while that orochi leviathan has a great parabolic action for glide baits. I got to fish some of those leviathan rods and they are super legit!
I got my first 250 fish yesterday, 5 lbs 1 oz, it was the craziest bite I've ever seen. Maybe i'll have to get a K9 now. Keep it up Geoff.
Great days those are you will never forget it Congratulations!!!!👍😁
@@garym2293 oh ya, I've still got a buzz.
Hell yeah dude! Congrats on the fish! I hope you can catch even bigger ones on it soon!
@@crazybassfisher same, my pb is an 8 on an s waver, but I know a place with 10s...
@crazybassfisher I just put some daiwa samurai 16lb fluorocarbon line on my reel. Would that line be OK to use with a tiny klash?
Man I love when Geoff posts some pond hopping vids!!
Thank you dude! It’s been fun lately!
Cant wait for more urban missions this spring
Sick swimbait setup up 💯💪🏿need that pole got the reel already
your ability to put that bait in tight spots is super impressive.
Love the pond videos bro ! Inspiring me to throw big baits at my local spots 🥶💪🏽
Get it dude! It can definitely be fun and rewarding!
I liked the older version of the Antares dc like the one you have also

That was sick dude! Need to see more of this grind pond hopping or fishing a lake!
Yup! Gonna be grinding hard soon once these fish get out of the spawn funk!
Awesome video, I love that kind of "urban" dock fishing! Greetings from Germany

I usually go to Lake Biwa Japan which K9 made up, but you doing better than me
Hahaha Biwako does have way larger fish though!
Thanx replying,
yeah.. there is big fish a lot, most fish are over 50cm, but it’s tough to catch them after around 2018
I like your style!

Yeah, I have done the “yoko-yoko” before and it’s super badass!
That's cool and all but have u ever fished a dropshot?
Yes, it’s actually my favorite technique to catch really big bass
