Thank you for sharing this! I have been making stocks for decades, but I learned something new about five years ago. My nutritionist told me not to cook my stocks for no more than 8 hours. I used to do the 24-hour method taught to me as a child. He said that after 8 hours of cooking, the heat will kill off minerals and vitamins when you go past the eight-hour mark. So I have been simmering my stock no longer than 8 hours and I find the gelatin is thicker and the clarity of the broth is much clearer and less muddy. Just a little food for thought on this.
For those that are new here, you can get a piece of cheesecloth, you do not need much. At about 2 tablespoon of rice to that cheesecloth, close the bag using a ponytail hair band. Drop it into a mason jar, put your homemade seasonings on top of that. Instant rice works better. The rice will pull the the moisture and keep your seasoning dry. Just about the only good news that rice has
Annie! Why haven’t I tried these tortillas until now!! I’ve tried many including serious keto & Nashville Chris…& finally went to Hero which I know I needed to get off the gluten, but just couldn’t take the substitutes, until now!! I love these!! U made it possible & ENJOYABLE🎉thank u!!❤(I did add corn extract)
I get all the broth off the bones and then refill the instant pot with water and cook it all again and use the rendering as just plain chicken broth vs. bone broth. The bones at this point are pretty crushable and our dog gets these as her treat in her raw diet dinner.
Hi Annie! - HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🍾- I’ve really missed tortillas, especially corn tortillas. I purchased 2lbs of Carrington Lupin Meal to (successfully 🤤) make your grits recipe. I think I can just grind the meal down to make flour, correct? Thanks for the recipes! ❤❤❤
Pass on the LMNT with maltodextrin in it. Found it cheaper now just to make home made electrolytes that are about tasteless depending how much you put in to water and spread it out over the day.
Hi, I’m not trying to be negative but another TH-camr mentioned that there’s maltodextrin in that LMNT. I don’t know how much, though. And I haven’t heard if it’s been removed or not. You might want to check it out. And, I’m sorry, I don’t remember which TH-camr. I will see if I can find out who it was that said it.
Hi, I found the TH-camr. It was Steve at Serious Keto. He did a Maltodextrin Test video 4 months ago. For those of us who are diabetic, this might raise our sugar.
In order for the broth to be shelf stable it would actually need to be pressure canned, not water bathed. But she's just freezing it. No canning needed.
Thank you for this! How do you store your broth? fridge or pantry or? --- for me its just myself and my husband and I make broths as I need them but this would be handy for sure when I dont' want to spend 24 hours to make a broth and I need to make something for dinner asap =)

Yes!! Studies have actually shown this to be true. It can also decrease the gelatin and collagen content to cook it longer. Great info!

My mom always put a few grains in the salt shaker for the same reason, hopefully your shaker jar holes aren’t big enough for the rice to pass through.
Everything looked delicious.

Yes! Those soft cooked bones are so fabulous for dogs ❤
We also give bone broth to our cats. They love it.

Would you be willing to share your recipe for the homemade electrolytes?
What are some ideas for using the shredded chicken please?

Do you not have to water bath can the jars for storage?
She's just freezing it.Broth requires pressure canning, not water bath. (It's not acidic enough.)
