Li Ming wouldn't have done as much because Genji's resets worked while they were still alive. Li Ming would either have killed them one by one a bit slower or all at the same time and then the reset would do nothing. But Genji could just go up-down-up-down through all of them.
So I know that armored assault is super good, but with the endlessly attacking tether quest at one, I think some crazy combo potential with cruel chain is possible. Especially since blade dance and elune's wrath count as separate instances of damage you could potentially hit the 200% cap in a short time and finish with a pull for massive damage. Only problem is that even with that synergy I imagine it to be harder to pull off than just getting armor and aa-ing
Yeah well I mean that's what I've been doing. As you say, it's a lot harder to pull off. Been hitting 2k'ish W with that though so when you do land it it's crazy, unpredictible damage. And Maiev is good enough dmg even without that AA talents, so it's not like you're dragging the team down when you don't land your own personal wombocombo. I'd highly recommend trying it. For me, it's either that or the more consistant dmg of the AA build.
All: AOE is not so easy to put properly: timings, mobile heroes, cast time, dodging spells (.. Maiev: Hmmm, i don't think so, but if you can't i'll help you. Just a bit, for sure, because balance is above all!

I was playing last night as Li Ming and got so many combo kills on Maiev's drag. The combos are almost endless.
