Tusk Crossbite vs Talon | Which is better for all-around riding?

- This is a review of the Tusk Crossbite, but with the Talon as a direct competitor (which I personally preferred over the T-35 and Recon). The Crossbite is advertised as a "do-everything" option with high durability so you can swap less and ride more, without sacrificing ride quality. But... is that true?

Great comparison on tires. I’m a tusk fan also I run the recons on my se300 on mountain single track here in southern Nevada. I replace both tires at 25hrs and am super happy with the performance I get from them using tubeless with 6-7 psi. I will be trying a set of talons soon. Thanks for your testing.
Running the crossbite on my 450exc in northern Nevada and I hate it! Sketchy, unpredictable no matter what pressure I run it at. Ive settled on 12 psi but its just not confidence inspiring. Its getting replaced with a Bridgestone X31, based on many recommendations. Recently mounted Emex T45's on my sons XR100 and he was almost instantly a better and more confident rider. He's only 13 but i value his opinion, he's a pretty talented and aggressive rider and so far he loves the grip the T45's are giving him.
Hey man these videos re great and very helpful. Just picked up a Talon front and excited to try it out. Running a T35 on the rear. It's a weird combo on paper but I think it might just work great for my terrain in the western NC mountains. Mix of mud, roots and slab.
Great info on the tires. I am very interested in the tusk tires! Awesome video. Let’s go rip!
Wore out talons. Next try is talon front and recon rear. I bets it’s a good combo!
I grew up in the SoCal desert and I’ve found that lower pressures in soft terrain doesn’t work. 12 to 13.5 psi is usually what makes the front wheel work best.
The only time I like the crossbite front is mud and sand, I have a set of talons under the guest bed ready to go on. I got a durometer if you are curious.
I definitely loved the rear crossbite in loose stuff. My main trails have big sand/clay sections and it ate through them.
I think if they did a 120/90 variant it would help a lot with the all-terrain feature.
One other thing I didn't like about the cross bite was that it seemed to have a really tall sidewall that induced swapping in desert whoops, I had a couple of close calls and decided to swap to something else.
I had that exact issue. The intro was a short clip of it doing it coming out of a whoop section. SCARY.
i'm out here on a 650 and i'm rebuilding the engine right now, but i'm looking for the right type of tire for south of george type of riding atm.
Warner ? Do you prefer the Talon over the t-35 ? Thanks
Cove Wash near Santa Clara. T-35 will last more hours (40-50), Talon has better performance overall. T-35 has a bad wear pattern from the cheap rubber, it rounds exceptionally fast and you'll notice it if you ride a lot. I recommend a Dunlop MX33 or MX34 over the T-35/45
I've probably bumped into you out there , just down the street from me👍
You took a soft terrain tire too the desert
UT is sand and clay 😂
