    I see you’ve got a painless kit installed. That’s my project now and was trying to figure out removing the ignition switch cables. Thanks for the video, you’re good at these.

    Great video and I like your style. For starters, I'm probably never going to click on a video that's longer than 10 minutes. Once I started the video, you don't waste a bunch of time in the beginning with a loud channel theme video and finally, you stay to the point. You have a good, clear voice and the audio/video quality is really good. Plus, you're funny and interesting without intentionally trying to be funny and interesting. I understand paying the bills so I'm cool with the beard commercial in the middle because it's also pretty funny. This is how DIY video's should be done so I'm subscribing to your channel. Nicely done.

    I'm about to do a full column swap on my 89 Dodge D150. Finally figured out the cause of my floppy steering wheel, and it's my current column, completely cracked. I had already tightened the 4 bolts at the tilt knuckle and replaced the steering shaft before I finally found the problem.

    So I have an 84 gmc k10 and my steering wheel nut and bolt have both been stripped. I’m not sure if I have to replace the whole column now, but I can’t find the length anywhere. Does it matter what length the replacement column is?

    • @TheBlazerBeam
      @TheBlazerBeam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as you do a 1980-1991 steering column you will be just fine. The length isn’t crucial but you’ll be better off if you stick close to stock. If you have a tilt column and can get the stripped parts off all you would need to replace is the upper steering shaft and nut which might be cheaper.

    Whats the flip switch u have next to your brake release? I just bought a 85 c10 and it has the same switch

    • @TheBlazerBeam
      @TheBlazerBeam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of people will put in an ignition cutoff switch and that’s what mine is. Turn your key to on and flip the switch. If your dash lights turn off or on that’s probably what it is. You should also be able to flip it while the truck is on to turn it off

    Great video Is it possible to install a chrome style column like this into a 2001 Chevy silverado?

    • @TheBlazerBeam
      @TheBlazerBeam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With some modification, anything is possible. But you’ll probably lose some modern amenities going that route

    Thank you for this video man! Just bought a 1985 suburban 2 days ago and someone I can tell tried to steal it before because my ignition switch rod is all messed up… I rather just knock it out with a new column and go from there… do you have any links to where I can get a new/remanufactured column? I have tilt steering but I don’t care if the new column doesn’t have that. Got this truck for a steal of $1400 just because i was the only one who got it started, the person I bought it from never could get it to run til I hot wired it, I have been hotwiring it but it’s getting old to Hotwire it everytime I go somewhere 😅
