I have a similar problem. I called Chevrolet today. They wanted to charge $1,500 dollars for diagnostic check ✅. Everything work's, on the infotainment system, except NO SOUND❗❓. It wont switch over from XM FM AM❗Volumn, on the steering wheel doesnt work❗What should I do❓
@@SymphanieDavis Come to find out in was the system modome. Located on the right side above the tire wall. Mine was wet from 💦 getting into it. Luckily for me it was replaced with charge 🤝
Not all cars have that one to two wire splice. I took apart my sons car from the rear seat all the way to the from just underneath the dash and all orange wires are separate. I even had to remove the front seat to get to all the wires. This car also had no water leaks at all, it was completely dry. Still trying to figure out where the problem is on my sons car. Next step I might have to dismantle the dash.
That wasn't my problem. I never even seen the two orange wires. My water is coming in through the tail lights. Super annoying!.. The wire you changed was coming from the amp or going to the amp? I tested the amp and there is 12v back there. IDK what else it could be
Question Without the amplifier that's in the back in your trunk even though you may reconnect the three orange wires if you don't have a amplifier in the back of still won't work correct???
yeah for that year it would be side mounted on the left when u open the trunk or the very top. It may have been bypassed. Have you had any audio or wiring done on it? If so or if u purchased used I would check the general spot for cuts to hide it in carpet or loose wiring.
Javarro Linn Mine doesnt have one even tho it has a fuse for amp in the fuse box on the front passenger floor so I pulled the fuse out and the radio still works
What’s mind boggling to me is how the damage is only enough to mess with the volume & not the display. I think that’s weird that is an electrical problem but doesn’t bother the infotainment system.
I tore my entire car apart and can’t find the orange wire where it was spliced, also I don’t even see an orange wire coming from the amp connector.. I’m lost And I’ve done this before on my old impala
Sir could you please come to Seattle and fix mine for me??? Lol single mama out here and I am ready to drive my 2014 impala off a cliff.. it’s been cutting in and out!!! Grrrrrrr
Thanks my friend. My old ladys ride developed this problem. Along with a lot of others Lol!
Thanks I'll try it.

7 months later have you gotten anywhere? I’m having this very issue with my impala

Your problem might be my problem because I don’t have the orange wire spliced and can’t find what’s causing the no sound
@@kramliker same I can’t find it neither
Damn I guess I'm late to the party but I get no sound from mines neither😢
Question

if you have an impala you have an amp from the base model. Its located between your 6 x 9 speakers on the back deck.
Javarro Linn I havent found mine and its an 06 and usually its there or on the side of the trunk by the taillights

Only if bypassed. Otherwise no. If the two wiring hook ups connect together then most likely its been wired to bypass the amp.

Mine didn't have any water or corrosion and still didn't work
