@Kyle Woodowens I thought about it too, but the way the transition went seems to suggest otherwise. Plus, it wouldn't surprise me that they both related to N after most of the city are his descendants.

Remember, they didn’t die at the end of 2. They split into 2 people- Pyra and Mythra at the same time. Plus Rex was essentially healed to full health by Pneuma after defeating Malos at the end.
