Sweet build man, i hope its a keeper for you. i just spent over 5k restoring my 01 yz250f touched every bolt, replaced every part, biggest monetary mistake i ever made lol. Not only did it just leave me wanting because i know what a modern 250f does but it also kind of ruined the good memories i had from the bike. Its set up perfect, rides amazing, but i will kick the crank and blow it up with how hard i ride. In attempting to sell it for a very reasonable price of 2500 clams to someone who would appreciate it ive learned that nobody wants nor cares about old 4 strokes, they're appliances bound for the junk yard. Sadly i do not think the resto mod scene is going to hit with the old 4 strokes like it did with the 2 strokes. i grew up listening to 426's having the cable stretched to the limit in the socal desert and its a sound ill never ever forget. Good memories
I have a 2001 model YZ that I’ve owned for about 20 years. It’s about 90 percent restored. All I have left is polishing the sub frame. Maybe I can finish it late winter.
I plan on doing a rebuild for same year range same bike! these videos are very helpful as not many people talk or post anything about this model yamaha's, I appreciate the content good videos!

I love this series you've inspired me to build a yz426f. That bike is turning out amazing.

Just drained the oil in a 426 I just picked up shavings all through it wish me luck
By chance did you get that bike at an auction in SLC?
no, my dad has had it since 2002 and we decided to build it this year
Oh okay. I had one I sold to a guy in CO then a few years ago I had a notice it was being sold from an impound yard in UT.
