This should have been in the movie. Issac just suddenly showed up blind in the movie they barely even mentioned it. He should have been a bigger part.
I totally agree! i was wanting Issac'a scene to be shown too. Also i wanted Gus's scene to be shown like him in the hospital and Hazel there right before it is his last day or whatever, Hazel was just like o he passed 3 days later im like really. Have no idea why they cut this scene, they told you Issac vision thing early on and what would happen eventually but still. But despite that still love this movie.
I agree, especially with the scenes of Gus. There was no momentum leading up to Gus dying it just happened
No there wasnt he just kinda died. You really thought it would be Hazel i was so shocked. Or i thought they might would have it like they both died at the end.
God hand Mishima I actually think it was a smart decision by the writers to quickly bring on the decline in Gus's health after Amsterdam, because it reflects reality. When people get seriously ill in real life, it just happens and there is no time to prepare for it. That's why the film is so highly praised. The audience roots for Augustus, Hazel and Isaac to live because they are such strong and likable characters. The sudden change in Gus from a confident and attentive boyfriend to a vulnerable and sick teenage boy is very believable and makes the tragedy of cancer all the more clear to people.
iluvlafferty I actually agree with you and great point, but sometimes as an audience you want alittle more closure when it comes to movies. Sometimes the mysterious circumstances is best but sometimes you also want some closure. You are right it was realistic one of the things i like about the movie. I know sometimes things can take a turn for the worse quickly and unexpectingly i know that is indeed life. I just thought they could had been alittle more detailed and clear about some things regarding Gus's death not saying it had to go in every single detail just alitle more on some things. I agree it is highly praised the movie is so likeable and relatable. Everyone wants there Hazel and everyone wants there Augustus. It was so relatable one of the reasons so many love it. The characters were realistic and likeable. You truely loved Augustus, Hazel, an Issac because they were so likeable and they truely wrere good hearted people.

They are only allowed to do a certain amount off time in movies so they have to cut scenes out, it’s mainly to do with the studio they work with.
Sometimes the director doesn’t think the flow of the movie goes well if they add a particular scene so they cut it off, from what I’ve heard when I used to watch voice over commentaries of actors during movies.
yes two minutes is not much but there are a lot of those 2 minute scene and all of them are good.

When Hazel realise that he's dead the scene was really melted my heart and when Augustus was telling about pre funeral it's really no words to describe it

The first one was meh, the second one made me so happy. I LOVED Hazel and Issac's friendship in the book and missed it a lot in the movie. That was a great Issac/Hazel scene, and I wish we got the one where they played video games together too. :)

The hospital scene reminded me of when I was told I was a cancer "survivor" and was given a little parting gift of a packet of information that "would answer any questions I might have".... I told the "Oncology Nurse Advocate" the thing I survived was all the mix-ups, screw-ups and other miscommunication I got from the hospital - it wasn't the cancer that was going to kill me, it was all of THEM. She just looked at me and told me to have a good day.
Isaac was awesome and he just cracked me up! 😂he still does. 😂😂
