I would like a sequel because this is literally my absolute favorite movie! It touches my heart on a special level and I've watched it literally more times than I can count.

I actually don't want a sequel. She's right about saying its better not to make one and let people have their own ideas of how Hazel's life goes on. Plus its more memorable if TFIOS stayed without a sequel.
kay cannon I agree. I think the story is so powerful because of the tragedy in it, I personally imagine that Hazel dies after the book ends and if they make a sequel where she keeps on living I feel like it takes away something from the story and makes it less powerful.
Red Moon 96 yeah exactly it wouldn't make sense because she has terminal cancer so she won't live forever and Augustus is dead it jist wouldn't make sense the whole movie was based on their love story so they can't jist make a sequel if they didn't kill Gus it would make sense for them to make a sequel

the irony is that the book they keep talking about in tfios also ends I’m many questions just like this one and the author wanted for people to imagine the characters life after the book so I think John green was looking for the same effect by letting people imagine hazels life after Augustus dies

Actually I think what happened next was that there were 2 children of hazel and then she died, their children were alone and then Issac accepted the robot eyes and took care of them.

I agree with Shai. TFIOS doesn't need a sequel. There'd be no real reason for it. With Augustus gone, Hazel doesn't have much to live for anyway since she was crushed when she lost him.

There won't be a sequel because John Green said so and I don't think it'll be anywhere near as good as the first. Plus I imagine sadly Hazel would've died within the next few years but would've remained close to Isaac but would never fall in love again.
true because she was wearing her dress and hugging the letter but I find if they bring out a sequel put It so that hazel died and she ended up meeting gus or gus waiting for her.

It would be nice to see how Peter Van Houten changed after his interactions with Hazel and Gus.
Like maybe not a story centered around Hazel after losing Gus but seeing their impact on him and how that affects him as a writer.
Does he write again, even if it has nothing to do with An Imperial Affliction?
Losing Anna in the story seemed to be literally what stopped him continuing as a writer so my curiosity has been more about him and how he has changed if he has. 🤔🤷🏼♀️
It's just like the thing with Imperial Affliction. Hazel wants to know what happens to Anne and her family and we want to know what happened to Hazel and her family. I wonder if that was on purpose...
Even though I loved the book and the movie I don't really want a sequel because there isn't really a reason to because the first movie was about Hazel and Augustus and their relationship and because Augustus is dead the second movie would just be about Hazel living a life and I feel it would become boring with no subject or main idea that it had before.

What is that thing that Isaac presses in the scene
It's a button to release (probably morphine) pain meds. His character just had an operation so he'd be given a metered/timed dose of medications. If you don't need the dose during that time window you don't push the button. My brother had one after knee surgery.
but the thing that annoys me about the movie and that makes me cry is that Hazel and gus' relationship was so powerful and their love for each other was so deep but he has to die, I really hate that and that's what makes me sad because she has terminal cancer yes but she could've spent more time with him and it would make sense to have a sequel. However question being is what would the first movie be about..? if there was that in the second part of the story so yeah its complicated and I don't like how the director did it but besides that it's an absolutely beautiful movie I wish everyone was like Hazel and gus. I've never felt or cried so much because of a movie and If I stay isn't comp for this movie this is the most amazing love film made Hazel is a powerful actor I love it
