    Dude, what a good explanation. Plenty of average geeks know how to do a thing, but it takes real brilliance to articulate it well. Great job.

    Earlier on in my learning about 3D printing I came across your video on Cura settings. Not only did it provide a great starting point but it helped me understand the reasoning behind the settings which was very useful going forward. So, looking for info on how to convert an SCAD file to something Fusion can use (so I could edit) I found this one. Watching this I now realize, whaddya know, no reason to import into Fusion at all, just follow your instruction on how to edit the parameters in OpenSCad. I love your approach/style, gets to the point quickly and clearly and lays groundwork for future use. Thanks!

    Fantastic get you going info for complete noob like me. I’ve been printing for 3 years but only with STLs and Tinkercad, Thingiverse etc. SCAD files always scared me away, but this makes it easy. Thank you so much! Peter.

    Neat being able to cut and make some edits with the STL or gcode files. Just learned this in the last few days the different apps that allow for. PrusaSlicer you need to rotate since only allows for a Z-plane cut either upper or lower with adjustment of the Z value. Microsoft 3D Builder and Meshmixer also allow cutting in more ways like angles. Was wondering how can I get larger prints on the smaller MPSM V2 bed without extending or possibly to make the bed and other axis extension parts.

I have looked around but all are gibberish to acetone, polyurethane, epoxy ETC... without using sanding.. I'm a noob so highly appreciate your insight on post 3d printed stuff using (grey/silver) PLA+. Thanks again!

    Great instructional video. Got me started. The web started throwing FreeCAD vs OpenSCAD... wait no, FreeCAD won't open .scad files, no, integrate OpenSCAD into FreeCAD, no no... use OpenSCAD then work it in FreeCAD. Nightmare by good techs, poor teachers. Fusion 360 should really integrate this. Again, great job, all the other videos/info were simply dead end confusing.

    Hey:) I have a question. I have a scad file i want to edit but it includes all the parts of my print. I need to change only a few and take an stl of them. How do i do that?

    • @woodywong76
      @woodywong76  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you know the parts of the code where the parts of interest reside, you can change just that part and comment out the rest of the code so that the it only renders the needed parts. Then export them as shown in the video.
      Another way, might be to edit the part that you want to change. Export it all, then use a slicer program to split the files into individual parts (almost all slicers can do this now) and simply delete the stl parts that are not needed.
      I hope this helps. If you still have troubles, hit me up and I might be able to offer more help.

    Its nuts to me that somebody knows how to read/write that code at the bottom and somehow it makes a button. The syntax is alien like to me. But changing the variables seems EZ enough.
