    This is a really excellent tutorial. Thank you for making this. Today I learned how to remix an STL in fusion 360

    Lots of good nuggets in there, thanks for making this.

    Thank you for making this video. I was struggling with a part that was nearly 2500% under-scaled in two directions with the third (y) still undetermined with 4 holes, probably nicely spaced but the part should only have 3 holes. So I’ve got my work cut out, but without this video, it wouldn’t have been worth the shot at it. I’ve subscribed and will have to watch the rest of the videos in this series. Thanks again.

    JP! Thank you for this video, it's perfect! I just installed Fusion 360 yesterday and watched a few tutorials on sketching from scratch. With this tutorial here I'm now well on my way to building a particular project I have in mind, remixing some content on thingiverse (as soon as my CR-10 arrives, that is). AND THANK YOU FOR PICKING ME ON THE GAW! I'm super stoked about the RPi, thank you, thank you, thank you. I commit to you and your viewers that what I do with it will go back into the community in form of a video or videos on my channel!

      No Thank You my man! Your comment inspired what will hopefully be a useful video series on how not only to design for 3D printing, but how to take those designs and make some cash money with them.
      Congrats on the win my friend!
      Shoot me an email at The3DWrkshop@gmail.com and I'll get the Pi shipped out to ya!

    Oh wow. That's a lot of work. I edited an STL last night in Fusion. I did the quick and easy way and it turned out just fine. Of course the part I was editing was very simple and I was only extending it and adding another part. I'll keep this in mind if that method doesn't work.

    Unfortunately this method has a limitation and wont work with complex meshes.

      Yup, even moderately so. Plus he's basically reconstructing large large parts of the model.

    Hey! Very cool! Wish you'd do some more Fusion 360 vids (move a little slower though).

    Came across this looking to modify a mainboard case, I can't find anything I like that fits the mks robin nano v3.1 due to the usb port. The formfactor is otherwise the same as a btt skr. So I simply need to create the opening for the extra USB port.

    Very good basic high level info. I wish you would go into a bit more detail. I'm getting errors about "not being able to heal the edited region" and I have a TON more triangles on my STL. It will take me a month to go thru with this trial and error as to which triangles I can or can not remove or simplify. Fusion needs a "Simplify Mesh" function.

    I don't understand why you spent the time to delete extra faces when you discarded that geometry and instead created a new sketch.

    if youre using inventor i recommenced mesh enabler plug in, it basically does this for you.

    how to remix something: build it again yourself.......

  • @KSCPMark6742
    @KSCPMark6742 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    "remix" is a misnomer. You must basically recreate the object, and that's just insane. Wth don't people include source file, no matter what format ?

      @aaliankhan4998 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time, its not meant to be modified so most people don't mind putting it

      I put an f3d file with all the things i have posted online. I wish more people would do that too.
