@@spiritualarchitect4276 I doubt that there's an actual surviving population in Idyllwild. It's a small mountain range and a ton of people go through there so often. Unless you can identify an area that you think they might be living.

@@jeffalbillar7625 after I watched this, I actually took a little drive up to the mountain for sunset to see what I could find. Realized I don’t go up there much anymore and it’s only a 30 minute drive to where it turns from Sage brush to pine forest. Gonna do that more on my days off now.

Omgosh we loved this. We live here in California , Los Angeles at the base of the foothills . We just came back from Big Bear. This is so good to know. We are die hard Sasquatch/Bigfoot fans. While other babies were busy watching baby Einstein, my babies were watching the Legend of Boggy Creek LOL. But never have we heard about anything about it in our mountains here in SoCal. So Thank You. We look forward to more
There was a sighting in the city of Buena Park in 81 or 82.
I grew up there.
I can share some stories…pics….and vids from investigations I’ve done all over SoCal. They are all over the place here.! I live in Temecula now but lived and investigated all over including Utah and Idaho and even Arizona. Hit me up anytime if you want. I’d even take you guys to a spot or two if you wanted. There’s no time like now to have a PTSD inducing encounter lol.

@@michellemarieperez6574 Ya I’ve heard of some DM sightings up by the toll roads that connect OC to Riverside County….and a couple areas around there as well. Don’t know what to make of those but the guy who told me is an investigator as well so there may be something to it.
I grew up on Bigfoot stories in the Southern California mountains, while yes San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and LA counties are more populated than our Northern California counterparts but we have some pretty vast wilderness areas.
I love the "Stranger Things" type of music for the opening.
I lived in San Gabriel Valley for almost 15 years and had no idea there were sightings in the mountains or any other areas mentioned in this video. Dogman encounters have occurred as well. This is a great series. Thanks for your work.

Right down the street from me I am based out of Corona. I remember when I lived in Phelan CA they said they had spotted one in Wrightwood and someone else said they had seen one up by Silverwood lake. That is around the time I became interested in Bigfoot.

There are squatches all over the socal area. They use the the grapevine area as a choke point to cross from the sierra nevada mountain range to the coast range and back. CHP have seen hairy upright beings run across the highways the length of california for years. You can catch them running to & from grape vineyards in the arvin & lamont areas in the summers to eat grapes & raisins. Some squatches will swim down the san joaquin river for miles and lay up for days at a time to eat grapes or raisens...search the pool areas east of mendota. Research the Zoobies...try those areas. Try south fork in tulare county...you might catch a squatch going through a trash can near the silver bridge. Mill Creek area is supposed to have a colony of squatches in the 'saddle' possibly. You can catch them out on route 245 occasionally on the pavement and in the vicinity of the general grant & general sherman trees. There are squatches that cross areas of the mojave desert...best...
By saddle do you mean as if you were to just keep following the Mill Creek all the way north toward Lassen?
I really enjoy these Small Town Monsters videos. Y'all are doing a great job, and a great alternative to the usual videos where guys run around the woods with the green night vision going 'GASP! Did you hear that!!" at absolutely nothing. Keep up the good work.

Glad to see a documentary on so cal Bigfoot, as a resident of the inland empire I have been saying for years they are here. So Cal also has some the first documented sighting. BIG Bear and 29 Palms are still hot spots

I’m from San Bernardino. It’s the largest county in the US and it’s mostly forest land. You better believe something could be hiding in there.

@@skeetermartini I was thinking a good idea would be to follow the Santa Ana river up to Bear Creek. Exploring off the beaten path and checking canyons for caves.
@@geechyguy3441 there’s a good trail that connects the Santa Ana river trail up to angelus oaks. It goes up to the post office there by the fire road.

Totally into this. Hemet, Lake Elsinore, Palmdale, Fontana, Lake Arrowhead have all changed since the 70s. I used to camp in all the places on your show when I was a girl scout and with church. It's scary to think bigfoot could have been out there- we did a lot of night activities and games.
Thank you for making this video. I live in Southern California. There was a late night sighting of Bigfoot near Ojai, California where Creek Road exits Highway 33. I don’t know when it happened.
yes! there is tons of sightings in that area! I live up here and have spent tons of nights up in that remote section. theres some very interesting reddit threads of people having some very odd experiences up in the Sespe wilderness.

Yes, several pretty remote areas with a few hidden spots.
@@spencercaligiuri6893 That's pretty much where Socal ends and the Central Coast mountains start. Los Padres national forest is actually a huge area, easily more remote than ANYWHERE in socal. We should definitely consider that they may be out there. I'm willing to trek deep into the wilderness to see if they exist, if you guys have any information please reach out. The expeditions are coming soon.

I’m down here squatchin on the daily. Angeles National Forest is my home turf. I’m 100% confident they are up here. We had a class A sighting just February 6th of this year. Photos taken. Also dogmen sightings up the Angeles Crest. Love what y’all are doing! Let’s get a trip together and go out there!

100% they are in the Angeles Forest. They are also in the San Bernadino Forest above Lake Arrowhead.

We need to conserve our beautiful wilderness areas.
Great job Eli. Very enjoyable. I live in the San Bernardino Mts. of So. California. The amount of vast wilderness areas up here would surprise most people. There are areas that I would not explore alone due to it's steep rugged terrain. Deep Creek is a prime example. Year round water and very limited access to large portions of it.

Yes. For sure. The PCT runs right through this area.
@@jdsilvaca You know it actually does look to me like this area is super secluded and remote. In fact just follow the Santa Ana river up to Bear Creek, all of those valleys and hidden spots. I'm thinking this will be my location this summer, the terrain is going to be extremely rough though. I'd like to get some interviews in Big Bear

Bravo Eli! So excited to see an episode about SoCal! Thank you! As mentioned in this episode, an encounter near "Victorville/Hesperia" around 1970, was very interesting, the area was very rural and sparsely populated then. I mentioned in another reply about San Bernardino County having records of encounters, like the one in 2014, near Silverwood Lake and a couple others near Hesperia on BFRO, as I lived up there for more than a decade, including at the time of the 2014 encounter being recorded. Now I live down the hill in San Bernardino, near the Yaamava Casino. I do believe that they are in the Socal mountain areas.
If you had to guess an area that they may be thriving in, I'd love to know - I am planning on expedition to hunt down these beasts for a few days and I will obviously post it here
Absolutely superb presentation. Watched the recent SoCal episode and came back to this one. The recent activity of wildfires is always a tragic occurrence, especially when human lives, homes and businesses are lost to these fires. Again, it impacts agriculture, wildlife and bigfoot. I believe they move onto to areas that they once inhabited, such as the Southern California mountain ranges when an event such as wildfires happen. There have been several forest fires in the past 15 years all up and down the coast of California to British Columbia. Hence they may be moving eastward too.
Another note, no wonder they got huge in size - 1000 to 2000 pound grizzlies! Can't imagine that kind of fight unless two sasquatch took one down.
Just loving these shows Eli. Keep'em coming. Very informative and interesting. I still like the treks with Aleks but look forward to these a lot!

I remember when all that stuff was going on, growing up in the 60s, and it kept going all the way into the late 80s in San Bernardino. Our parents used to let us go camping [just us neighborhood kids], so in the early summer 1969 we followed the Forest Falls trail up to the top of the falls, and then we kept going for another 5 or so miles up that steep climb and camp. I was 11 years old. No adults, no cell phone, no lifeline, just 6 street smart kids learning how to be adult. But, the biggest talk during that time was the Zodiac killer and how he was going kill someone at the Orange Show in SBerdoo and the lady that was killed in Riverside by the Zodiac. The bigfoot stories came from those small towns around SBerdoo that grew mainly oranges and apples, the foothills. Pickers would see the most, then tell their kids which we would find out in school. This was also peak time for UFO flaps over the Inland Empire. Greatest time to grow up. period.

During one of San Diego Counties massive wild fires, they told everyone to stay inside and not to go anywhere unless it was absolutely necessary. I was driving west down Palomar Mountain on highway 76 passing right next to the Pala Indian Reservation camp ground doing about 50 mph. There was heavy smoke all around and no other vehicles. In my periphery on the other side of the road, up against a large pine tree there was some shimmering/blurry brown and tall ‘something’. It triggered my adrenal response and I slowed a little to look in the mirror but could see nothing. I suspect it may have been a bigfoot/sasquatch trying to escape the fire/smoke and may have been using infrasound to camouflage itself.

We camped up at Doan pond about 6 years ago and we were making whoop sounds and got a response back! There were only a few other people when we were there. It was dark, and across the pond up a hill where there's no roads, no campers, very hard to access area. We got whoops and knock responses from the top of that hill. Very rugged and wooded area. No way there was a random person up they at 11pm when the only other few campers they're were all sleeping or sitting by their fires. Keep squatchin!

My stomping ground is from LA up to Santa Cruz. There is only 50-70 miles from those coastal mountains to the Sierra. LA being the closest. I have heard stories, even had a weird experience myself in that region. I don't think they pop over here very often anymore. But it is true that there are lines they could navigate back to the Sierra in one night if they used the Darkness to there advantage. I am so happy you made this! Cheers
I think the Sierra Sasquatch migrate to the coast range and down to the transverse ranges in Los Angeles and San Bernardino and down into San Diego depending on weather and food and water.

I camped pretty much every summer in Idyllwild as a child.
I'm pretty sure as a young mother in the early 90s we were being watched by one at Lake Hemet. In the 2000s I came across sightings in the exact spot I sensed something. At the time I never assumed it to be a Bigfoot but now I do.
I also had a sighting in I think 2017, through binoculars of one up on a rock outcrop within the Joshua Tree area
The Joshua Tree area has some weird stuff going on.
HEY ELI…..My name is Dave. I’m a Sasquatch Investigator and experiencer. I’ve investigated Sasquatch all over the country and lived in Utah while investigating…..as well as Idaho….but I am from Southern California and I live in Temecula too! I’ve investigated all over Southern California and there is a shit pile of information I would love to share with you. Also….if you were interested, I can take you to some of the areas that I’ve investigated. I admit I’m leaving this comment prior to finishing the entire video so I’m assuming you don’t mention some of the encounters I am referencing here…..but there are some incredible witnesses in Southern California I’ve met with and have also verified. I have some great photos and videos from investigations in Southern California that I haven’t posted online yet but I can share with you. Ever since my first encounter in 2016 I have constantly reached out to other investigators and other witnesses to share information and help move the discovery of these things forward quicker. I don’t think enough investigators take the time to speak with and meet with one another if they’ve already grouped up with somebody and I think that’s a serious mistake. I’m not saying you do that, but it’s been much more difficult for me to connect with other investigators than it should be. Since we both live in Temecula I figure it doesn’t get easier than that to connect and have a chat about Sasquatch. Anyway, let’s talk man. 👍🏼

Big thanks to the both of you, and the entire team at STM. This channel is helping me weather some monsoon level storms here on Ape Island. When are you two coming to investigate the very squatchy Vancouver Island? There are ancient aboriginal references and stories on Sasquatch on this island, and countless contemporary accounts of sightings. I spend time in the backcountry, camping and exploring... Late at night I have heard sounds unexplainable. While solo camping on a recent backcountry trip, I chuckled to myself "That owl must be 10 feet tall & 500 pounds"... Laughed it off and went to sleep. It was only the following day that I really put together what I heard.
Moneymaker looks like an older version of D-day in "Animal House"... Loved this documentary!

Socal was always influential with Bigfoot investigation. I'm surprised you didn't know that. I've even heard of sightings in Lancaster /Palmdale In the high desert. These forest people come right up into the edges of civilization, you don't have to go deep in the forests to find them, they are there of course but they are literally everywhere as long as there is water and game to support them, even in sparsley covered areas.

You'll find news articles going back to the 1920's detailing "Bigfoot" sightings in the surrounding foothills of Los Angeles, especially San Gabriel. And the Chumash indians of the Santa Clarita Valley had persistent sightings of "giant hairy creatures" all along the Southern Grapevine and Interstate 5... so much that, for hundreds of years (who knows exactly how many), the affected mountain range was known as "the Magic Mountains". And now you know where the Six Flags amusement park got it's name.

The terrain is very similar to the Mogollon rim, Arizona , where there are lots of Bigfoot reports ..
The book “Out on foot” by Rocky Elmore a retired Border Patrol is a great recommendation. There is some accounts of Bigfoot activity on there from the mid nineties. It has inspired me to explore the wilds of San Diego
I used to live in SoCal in the 80’s & 90’s. Very nice job surveying the local research Eli! With the large human pop it’s completely understandable why most sightings were during the night. No doubt a stream or river with suitable habitat (woods, wild game, edible plants) was nearby. One would no doubt have to expand further out to find evidence these days. Too many people in LA!
I saw what I believe to have been a Sasquatch in SoCal in 1998 at a place about 30min north of Buellton. I worked at a remote resort at the time and saw one while biking. I also helped a biologist from Santa Barbara try and locate what they believed to have possibly been a female grizzly back in there.
That is crazy a grizzly bear?? The central coast is where I plan to launch investigations after I'm done exploring the deepest corners of Socal. Reach out to me!

I leave this comment without having watched yet. But I always find it funny when people think of Southern California/Los Angeles as not having wilderness. look at a map. LA and its surrounding suburbs are in a basin literally surrounded by mountains - a lot of them super remote once you crest over the top of the city bordering ridges. Once you get over the top of the San Gabriel range you are confronted with an expanse of wilderness that runs one direction all the way to the mojave desert and up through the Sierras.. in the other direction it goes all the way through Ventura and up into central California with the Los Padres range/Big Sur. There has been activity reported everywhere up and down all of these areas in the outskirts of civilization for as long as recorded time I'm sure, and they are out there to read. the Chumash Indian spoke of them. Yes Los Angeles is one of the most densely populated cities in the country/world - but don't forget that the sierras leads down right into the smaller ranges. I've spent many days backpacking through the San Gabriel range 5 miles as the crow flies from Pasadena and not seen a human soul for days in some very remote areas. looks and city names can be deceiving but we are surrounded by wilderness down here. LA is just a hub amongst forest and desert with all sorts of strange phenomena reported.
