As an LBL native, and who's grandfather and grandmother are both buried at the Paradise Cemetery in the LBL, you nailed almost all of the information in this documentary. My grandfather grew up directly in the LBL in the 1940's and early 50's, when he was a kid and teenager. The Land Between the Lakes is also very haunted, as there are many Indian burial grounds located throughout the peninsula. As a kid myself, my grandfather would tell many terrifying experiences that him, his siblings, and mother all encountered. There was one particular incident when his mother's bed was lifted and picked up off of the floor, and hovered there for 10-15 seconds with her in it. So not only are there unknown beasts that roam the LBL and all of the rituals, but the place is also very haunted. My grandfather also told me stories of strange lights that they would randomly see in the sky over their home, and also in the woods themselves. My grandfather didn't believe in aliens, so he always thought that the strange lights were ghosts traveling throughout the area. There were also many people who lived near the LBL, along with outsiders who would travel to the LBL, and conduct ritual and sacrificial activities inside the peninsula. We were all aware of certain places not to go, along with certain times of the day/night, to avoid these ceremonies. It was well known who some of the people that came here to do some of these rituals were, too. It was usually important people with prominent roles in society that would partake in these events here, such as judges, lawyers, law enforcement officers, and even doctors. I have even heard stories of people accidentally stumbling upon one of these rituals at night in the forest. The attendees would usually be dressed in all black, with long, black robes with hoods on them. Every story I heard about someone coming across one of the rituals, the person(s) was always chased out by them, as it seemed that these people were not too happy. Finally, there are many other well known places hidden in the LBL that also has deep, dark history. One well known building that is still standing for some reason is the old St. Vincent church. This old church that has a cemetery next to the building, is known to be extremely haunted with some sort of evil entities. There have been many investigators that have came here to attempt to find out the church's dark secrets, with many having horrific experiences. Some had something physically touch them, and some have even had their lives changed forever. These are just a few more examples of what else is hidden within the forest in the Land Between the Lakes.

I'm in the LBL camping right now.. I'm at the Sugar Bay campsite on the Kentucky Lake side in a site just up from the lake.. by myself, absolutely no one else around here.. just me.. its drizzling with a deep thunder,it's 10p.m and really really dark
Great video Alex. So interesting. Whatever people choose to believe- it stops you in your tracks when Martin Groves, relays his encounter. It's quite clear, that he heard and saw something, that scared him to the core and it has cast long shadows. Jessi and Joe are always intrepid and I'm a big fan. Thanks Alex
I'm so glad your covering the LBL Aleks. Very bizarre area and that story of that family getting massacred by that Dogman was truly frightening. There are even police authorities who still won't talk about what really happened in that case. I guess it shook them up that much. But something is definitely going on there. I don't know if it's still happening but according to those who live in the area it does at times. A lot of focus is put on Bigfoot i think FAR MORE needs to be put on Dogman. Another great documentary as usual.

STM and Aleks brings us this fascinating story. I live only a 2-hour drive from these lakes and have a couple of friends who live on the shores of Kentucky Lake. Strangeness has been a part of this area for years. It’s a beautiful recreational area filled with legends and myths…..or are they? Thank you STM and Aleks!
This is great Aleks, excellent show. Great job getting Jessie and Joe on here as they have done some great research and fieldwork on this place and found some very disturbing things over there at LBL. I camped there in the 1970s when I was in college here in Kentucky and right now, I am camped about 100 miles to the east. This is a beautiful state with a rich history. Keep up the excellent work.
@@SmallTownMonsters Very much so! Well done and hoping you go into the LBL again. I just commented again on here with additional information about the LBL you might find interesting. Pleade read when you have the time. You got a new subscriber!
Aleks, great show. I'm originally from Kentucky but live in GA now. I went camping there in 1968 with the boy scouts. I was back in 2021. Compared to the first trip, the place is a dump. But it feels so creepy now.... Thanks again.
I reside in Stewart County and LBL is less than 5 miles from my place. I’ve hiked in LBL for years since the 1980s. As a former law enforcement officer I am familiar with several of the unsolved cases. My wife’s two cousins were the two girls who were murdered in 1980.
Have you ever heard of people talking about the family that died while camping at the LBL in the camper I was just wondering if that story is really true.
@@ilovemyplayfulcat320that’s a tricky one. so, there’s supposedly another 5th person involved in that. an extra family friend, who lived. there’s a dogman podcast thing on youtube and he speaks about it. there’s only one, and gosh it’s scary. true? i’d need more credibility - but it’s bone chilling.
@joonbug3856 yes I have heard that person that got underneath the Rv Roger I think is his name but I'm 54 years old and around that time of that Rv event happening I was in middle school I do remember a family wad murdered or something it was a long time ago and even then the media was being controlled and couldn't tell anything close to the truth I'm sure.
Glad you enjoyed it Tristan, it was definitely a lot of fun to cover some of the strange topics like the criminal/cult activity. Was great to work with Jessi and Joe as well! -Aleks
This incident wasn’t the only one in Kentucky where the government took people’s land away. Camp Breckinridge in Morganfield displaced many families, including land of my ancestors and their cemetery or headstones with it. An elderly lady who may have passed by now petitioned the government every year over the loss of her family homestead. Very sad and tragic.
#HellbentHoller 🦹Jessi and Joe are awesome. Great to see Martin Groves also. I pray, God please bless this man and ease the burden that lays heavy upon his kind heart. Amen.. Man, after everything I've heard & read (Martin Groves' books), you couldn't pay me enough to go there! It'll be interesting to see your take on it, Aleks.
@@Tennessee6447 You aren't supposed to bring firearms in there, unless you have a hunting permit, or so I believe. I noticed the girl from Hell Bent Holler carried a big knife but no sidearm.

This was so interesting and informative. Every person who was on was fantastic. I've listened to martins story on a podcast and I have listened to it a few times. Because it's so jaw dropping and you can hear it in his voice Martin is telling the truth.
Sad thing is this has happened all across the nation. In every State practically, and others for alot less of a reason than power through electricity. Governments suck
Great video! I sure do appreciate the boots on the ground investigation from that couple! They know what they’re doing and prepared for it! Looking forward to whatever they uncover or discover. It’s a shame for those who lost their land for no good reason. I hope someday it’s revitalized.
I had family who had this same thing happen to them in Collingwood Ontario. They had land on blue mountain not the side the ski resort is on but the back side. Two men came to my grandfather and told him this is what they are giving him for the land and either he takes what they are offering or they will just take the land. That land was never used for anything they merely just took it cause they could for whatever reason.
I really enjoyed this. Every film done by Aleks is just so informative and interesting. We get the background and then a field research and interviews...I love this! Thank you Aleks ❤

This seriously reminds me of Boston, OH., also known as Helltown Ohio. Everything from it being a peninsula to it being a federal park to the government having took it over for a strange reason I can't recall. It's worth looking into. Great work- LBL is a very interesting place.
That area is creepy, but not from any paranormal reasons. It is one of those places where you don't just go wandering through, unless you are with someone from the area. There is A LOT of bad blood about that place. Many of the families down there still treat that area like they still own it. It is desolate. Weed growers. Ginseng hunters, who are very protective of their honey holes. Hogs that will eat every part of you and leave no trace. There are places like this all over the Appalachian region. I have a friend by Elm Grove that I was in the Navy with and I would go visit him in the summer for 2 weeks. He took us on quite a few trails with our atvs. Some places are open to the public, but I would recommend treading lightly. This place is no exception. Like I said. It is a creepy place, and beautiful as well. Don't go in there unless you have a firearm. Just don't flash it around and they won't know you have one. Many people there do carry. Don't go bushwhacking in there during hunting season. A good way to piss the locals off. The threats in there are not paranormal. Thanks for the video. You told a good story.
This was great, and you couldn’t have been joined by two better people. Jess and Joe are out there all the time; I’m a sub to their channel and I like their style of investigating. Martin’s encounter is terrifying, especially as a trained law enforcement officer, he’s very credible and is not going to risk his reputation on a false story. It took courage to go public with it, knowing that he was going to face ridicule; and I wish him well.
Before hearing about the high strangeness at LBL, I enjoyed memories of sleeping over at a friends cabin and learning to water ski in Lake Barkley. In 1972. So sad to see the place in such disrepair. It was a lovely area, but I didn’t know it was at the cost of generations of lost homes.
I didn't get to watch but half of it the first time. I got to finish it tonight and I find the Martin Groves incident very compelling !!! Great job Aleks ! Absolutely loved it
Sends a chill down my spine just crossing the bridge and seeing the opposite shoreline. It did that before I knew anything of the high strangeness. Listen to your gut, kids it will keep you alive.
I live in Kentucky and would love to go camping there. Ive seen a Sasquatch here in Kentucky at my house. It was an interesting encounter to say the least.
This is an interesting video. I was born in Murray and spent the first 25 years of my life as a “local” of this area. I remember visiting Hotel California as a teenager. I’ve run and mountain biked countless miles on the North/South trail and the Canal Loop. I’ve spent dozens if not hundreds of hours in LBL. I recognized nearly everything in shown in this video. Most of the time spent out here was alone, on the trails. Never did I see or hear of anything nefarious going on in the area. I’m not claiming this video is not true, this is just the first time I’m hearing of this and I’m now 49 years old, and I was senior in high school during the Martin Groves incident. I love the story. I find it fascinating. But I’ve never felt uneasy, even once, in the years and years I spent out in those woods.
So crazy yall are covering my "backyard" (and idk what or which aspect you're covering yet) but bc there is a terrible murder story here not committed by any human... like not physically possible. I myself have seen things as well, and have experience other phenomenon.❤ so happy to watch this!!
@@slyfox1970 an unknown violent creature is all I can say. Most I've seen is a black silhouette... that made very loud ground punnding sounds. Like it picked up a chuck of 2ft round tree cut about 2 foot high, and dropped it from about 6ft letting jt smack flat against the ground. Heard this twice before seeing the silhouette move from behind the trees. I was trolling on the lake in the small cove in a bay, shooting carp with bow. It was an exhilarating moment to say the least. Mostly bc I've camped, and partied in these woods for 20+ yrs.... i have lots of personal NVG time in pitch black scouts out there and never seen anything else again. But it is fairly vast and fairly vacant majority of the time..
I believe in Jessi and Joe. They simply don't make things up or try to enhance viewers experience with imaginary noises and calls. What you get is truth and their streams are all the more exciting for it. They are a must watch, just like Small Town Monsters. Great viewing watching them work together.
Martin Groves & Harry's story is very compelling. It's a sad education. thank you. In my opinion, it is the same ;the natives had their communities as well and that was upended also At the whim of the government
It must be so sad to have land taken away that in families for generations....... I'm Native. Our land was all taken away from our ancestors lived on for thousands of years. Many were killed if they didn't follow orders.. think about. Their homes were destroyed. Farm lands destroyed, animals killed. It's still being taken away slowly to this day.
you're absolutely right! and they're killing people every day! taking people away from the lands that they own! and that they lived on for all these generations! this is so horribly sad! my father God lay his arms upon all you people that grew up on the land be blessed! you have it in seven folds he will give you Grace love and Glory... trust in thee he will give you everything that you deserve... always believed and always, always holding in your heart because he will give you everything that you deserve and your family your children your mother, father... they can never take away your heart your love, and the glory that you have for your family and your land that you live on and that you love for!! it will all come back to you sevenfold❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the video... I love it. Also, people were displaced in the founding of every state and national park. My family had land taken when shenandoah national park was formed and the same for Quantico. I'm sure this doesn't even touch how native people must feel about their own displacement. My great uncle was Lakota Sioux but was raised on a reservation in Minnesota which is far from his ancestral lands.
Thanks to Aleks and the Small Town Monsters crew for letting us be a part of this!
I'm so glad that STM included y'all in this! Be safe and good hunting 🙏

Fantastic Episode....Great seeing Jessi & Joe ... Hellbent Holler are incredible researchers⚔
Thank you, Bonita!
Riveting. Even my 85 year old mother cane in to ask about that account as she'd overheard from the other room. Great job guys! Love it! 👣
I'm in the LBL camping right now.. I'm at the Sugar Bay campsite on the Kentucky Lake side in a site just up from the lake.. by myself, absolutely no one else around here.. just me.. its drizzling with a deep thunder,it's 10p.m and really really dark
You must enjoy living life on the edge, I hope you don't tip over ❤
Excellent job shedding light on what the government did to those communities
Sad isn’t it?
Just the same as they did to the Indigenous People.
Welcome to the American Rez!
Thanks Alex
Thank you!!!
I’m all in for any investigation involving Joe and Jessi of Hellbent Holler! They are great investigators and I trust their findings 100%.
Thank you, MB!
Right on, Bro.
None of those police officers or paramedics have ever been located as far as I'm aware. That tells you somethin'. Cool story, though.
They all commited suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head twice then they threw themselves in the river!@GilbertSyndrome
A great follow up to The Bridgewater Triangle, Aleks and company. Well done.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
Is this the first of the series?
@@JohnConnor636 I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Yes it appears to be a new series.

"The Strange Places announcement trailer just dropped! Strange Places is a new documentary series by Aleksandar Petakov that follows his adventures and investigations into various unusual places around the world. Whether it be mysterious regions, abandoned locations or forgotten history, Aleks leaves no stone unturned in his search for strange places. Coming to TH-cam 02.25.2024."
th-cam.com/video/sB-YKd7PoWw/w-d-xo.html
@nnor636 Not sure what they are referring to but it might be the Bridgewater Triangle related video we did a couple of years ago for my Bigfoot Beyond the Trail series: th-cam.com/video/Ue8k5h9Dw-A/w-d-xo.html -Aleks
@@SmallTownMonsters My reference is that this film is in the same vein as the one about the 'Bridgewater Triangle', not that they are directly related one to the other. You, yourself Aleks brought it up when discussing how the lore surrounding both locations is similar, with the similarity being the way the lore is told and has an affect on the surrounding environs. Cheers.
I really enjoyed Jessi and Joes contribution to your program. Martins experience was very believable
Thank you!
@@HellbentHoller Just subscribed to your channel. Can’t wait to start watching you videos. It’s funny, your videos started hitting my feed two days ago. It’s the first time I’d every seen it. Now today to show up on a STM video

I truly enjoy your programs. There are strange incidents that occur that are hard if not impossible to explain. As a retired Deputy I have witnessed things that I cannot explain. Please keep making this excellent programs. One day I will be able to join.
Glad you liked it! It's a very fascinating and strange area for sure.
Thank you for the kind words, OL1!
LBL native here! Can't wait to sit down and watch this!

Enjoyed this sensible approach to the history of LBL.
Not the typical ghosts/ hauntings/ cryptid/ ufo stuff.
This was like a documentary.

Aleks, great show. I'm originally from Kentucky but live in GA now. I went camping there in 1968 with the boy scouts. I was back in 2021. Compared to the first trip, the place is a dump. But it feels so creepy now.... Thanks again.
Hey, Sam B!
Thanks for watching Sam! That's a shame to hear how it's deteriorated. -Aleks
Def one of the best TH-cam docs I’ve ever seen! WOW- way to go, guys!
This was awesome! Great to see you collaborating with Jessi and Joe!
Thank you, Kaiju!

Gov always takes what they want one way or another
#HellbentHoller 🦹Jessi and Joe are awesome. Great to see Martin Groves also. I pray, God please bless this man and ease the burden that lays heavy upon his kind heart. Amen..
Thanks Alek for all your hand work and dedication to opening our eye's and allowing us a glimpse into the world you explore. Safe travel.

Great video guys thanks, such gripping stuff and truly chilling accounts. You go from strength to strength.
What a fantastic first episode & can't wait to see future ones. Love that you started with the history of the place & worked your way from to the paranormal. Adds a depth to the story being told
Man, after everything I've heard & read (Martin Groves' books), you couldn't pay me enough to go there! It'll be interesting to see your take on it, Aleks.
Obviously Aleks doesn't believe him or they wouldn't have went in unarmed in the dark.
@@Tennessee6447 You aren't supposed to bring firearms in there, unless you have a hunting permit, or so I believe. I noticed the girl from Hell Bent Holler carried a big knife but no sidearm.

Sad thing is this has happened all across the nation. In every State practically, and others for alot less of a reason than power through electricity. Governments suck
Really enjoy your way of narrate and present different topics, Petakov. Great documentary, keep up the good work. Greetings from Norway.
Thanks for tuning in and glad you enjoyed it. -Aleks
I hate the families were displaced and lose their homes. So very sad.The bitterness has soaked into the land....
Wow.
The government is my biggest fear. They`ve destroyed every chance I`ve ever had of succeeding in life.
Enjoyed the documentary and You had a good man with you Mr Mark Newbill
Great video! I sure do appreciate the boots on the ground investigation from that couple! They know what they’re doing and prepared for it! Looking forward to whatever they uncover or discover. It’s a shame for those who lost their land for no good reason. I hope someday it’s revitalized.
Thank you for the kind words, Rachel!
Way cool having Jessi and Joe with you, I also watch them. You guys are the ones that get out there, results or not
Thank you, Timothy!
That martin groves incident is the most believable most honest human emotions I have ever witnessed!!!!!!!!!
Martin has Earned a reputation of sorts. For being able to get information from people and locations.in other areas with potential cryptid incidents.
Better than anything I've seen on TV. Awesome job!

This seriously reminds me of Boston, OH., also known as Helltown Ohio. Everything from it being a peninsula to it being a federal park to the government having took it over for a strange reason I can't recall. It's worth looking into.
Great work- LBL is a very interesting place.

This was such an awesome doc. One of my absolute favorites so far. What a crazy place!
Whoever decided to use phonk for some of the music... Bravo! It's definitely a bop. Great video as well.
Thank you for the kind words and the support!
Cool to see the hellbent crew in this! Another great one from STM,love the entire crew STM and hellbent in one giant cryptid mega bot.

It was great to see Mark Newbill of SawdusttBeast join you for an interview !

Great video, and really intriguing. Unnerving!
I live in Kentucky and would love to go camping there. Ive seen a Sasquatch here in Kentucky at my house. It was an interesting encounter to say the least.
Which part of Kentucky? I have had some really strange things happen in the Hart county area while hunting.
Off my soap box! Thanks so much I really enjoyed watching and my dog 🐕 was glued too.
This was very nice to watch.
Thank you, WK! Hope that you are well!

So crazy yall are covering my "backyard" (and idk what or which aspect you're covering yet) but bc there is a terrible murder story here not committed by any human... like not physically possible. I myself have seen things as well, and have experience other phenomenon.❤ so happy to watch this!!
Where exactly is this place at
@@slyfox1970 an unknown violent creature is all I can say.

What you get is truth and their streams are all the more exciting for it. They are a must watch, just like Small Town Monsters. Great viewing watching them work together.

Martin Groves & Harry's story is very compelling.
It's a sad education.
thank you.
In my opinion, it is the same ;the natives had their communities as well and that was upended also
At the whim of the government
This is the best video I have ever seen. Please keep them coming
Absolutely Phenomenal one here! So happy you got Elijah Henderson on this, love his channel, Cryptid Studies Institute for those that don't know.
Thanks for watching! Elijah's channel is linked in the description below as well!
Great work as usual Seth and company !
Enjoy all the different topics thanks for your hard work
Thank you! It was great to cover many of the strange stories from the LBL. -Aleks
