In my opinion, I don't think it would have to sound like Nirvana in order for it to be a "good" cover. Sure, he executed the vocals extremely well, but I'd rather see a unique and different version of the song performed.
Adam Mcdowell seether and manson are the only two bands that should ever do covers. Every time they do covers they usually do the original justice or the make it even better.

Although I’d absolutely would love to see Shaun sing and play with nirvana, I don’t think that Nirvana would do it for the same reason Queen wouldn’t let Marc Martel sing with them.. they look and sound too much alike, it would be unreal and probably wouldn’t be something they’d want to have on their minds. Shaun looks like a bigger Kurt and sounds very similar to him as well. I’m a big seether fan, and a fan of B-side nirvana so I’d love to see it happen.

Dude, it's like Kurt possessed him for like a minute in the middle! 2:06 to about 2:32 . His hair blows into almost the same part and his voice gets VERY similar! It's awesome. I'm not even a Seether fan, and I wouldn't say this about most other things their vocalist does, but I gotta give him credit for this.

Nirvana's influence on Seether is so huge, you know, Shaun's dressing, John's hard kicking like Dave Grohl's, and specially Shaun's vocals... But fuck, that's great! Wish there was more bands being that influenced by Nirvana and that punk rock or grunge or whatever 90's wave. Grunge would be back or still alive.

He's basically a Kurt 'poser' and its pretty obvious he wishes he had that influence that Nirvana and Kurt gave to people. And also Kurt was a feminist so thats why Krist and Dave chose all females. I thought Joan Jett, St.Vincent, and Kim Gordon were great, but Lorde was too much, since she's a pop artist who has all kinds of fame, which is one of the things also kurt despised.
