I bet. I read a comment about someone thinks about going to a Nirvana show but choosing not to go in March 1994 and he later regretted it

Hard to believe that this year marks 27 years anniversary since we lost Kurt, the exact same amount of time he lived.
Soon he's been dead longer than he was alive... It's crazy.
Jesus...that hit hard man
Wow!...
Damn

The shot of Kurt hitting the distortion pedal at 0:37 right as the distortion kicks in is perfection
i never noticed that woah
That video was taken during the concert where he played Love Buzz, jumped into the crowd and crowd surfed, and ended up slamming his guitar into the face of a bouncer who tried to help him back onstage as he thought he was being aggressive. It sparked a big fight and row which is mentioned in the Heavier than Heaven biography.
i noticed that to it's impressive

@@mercedesguzman863 Nah, it's poetry. Words in a lyrical form are poems.
Dude, this entire song every single line is catchy and full of meaning. Every single one. Common in all of his songs. A lot of it was just random gibberish Kurt said, just cool lines he put together, but when all put together into a cohesive package, they take on whatever meaning you want.
27 years he lived. And 27 years we lived without him.

What people don't get is this was written in 1994. When it was released in 2002 it not only fit in with the radio trends, it was better than anything else. Timeless.
very true, his lyrics have a simplistic genius to them..
Kurt was a tortured soul. This was the mix of high energy and subtle that the Pixies influenced him. Those shows were incredible
@@Frankje01 It's funny, his lyrics are complete nonsense, but scarily genius. I feel like people try to copy it, but he just knew what he was doing.

Imagine being a Nirvana fan in 2002 and this shit drops out of nowhere
Dude, it was fucking nuts, and it's been my favorite Nirvana song ever since.
Yes it was absolutely the highlight of that year 4me and any of friends that were true fans. I wish they would play this on our rock station in Knoxville.
I got goosebumps on top of goosebumps. not to mention this song kicked the shit out of anything being released at the time. when this hit, it was so intense seeing this video words cant describe.
it wasnt out of nowhere. it was rumored to exist for years. a version they played live leaked to the internet years before it was released and then the official song leaked months before the actual release ..they even played it on the radio. courtney and nrivana sent letters to radio stations threatening legal action so they stopped. i avoided hearing it tho till the cd dropped in late 2002 and still waited till someone gave me the cd at xmas ...and it was amazing.
@@DannyCosmos No, no you're right. It didn't come out of nowhere. I knew about the radio play leading up to it (never heard it, like yoruself) and I heard it on bootlegs many years before they released the studio version.... i just had no idea the quality it was recorded in. I thought it was going to be a released like other b-sides with mediocre production... Y'know? I had no clue it was going to sound this f'n good. Know what I mean? Cheers.
i don’t really see anyone taking about this. but knowing it’s kurt’s last song, and he’s saying things like “always knew it would come to this” and “never speak a word again, i will crawl away for good” just breaks my soul in half.

because kurt is describing that part of his life. Literally, my gut instinct tells me he did not kill himself, courtney, and many others used kurt for everything they could get. Keep in mind that kurt was only with courtney just under 2 years, so she did well. kurt just wanted out of everything and away from courtney she knew this and put a plan into action. I still believe kurt bought the second plane ticket for frances, and this sent Miss Love over the edge same reason she claims she dont know who the ticket was for she knows but won't tell ✌️ when she passes many truths will come out but she's protected and connected for now 👊

Today, you‘ve been gone for 30 years.
Even though you died years before I was born, you are my biggest inspiration, the reason I love music and the reason I‘m still breathing.
I can’t believe I will never get the chance to see you live and to sing, yell and scream along with you. I can’t believe I will never get to listen to new songs you write and I can’t believe I will never even get the chance to meet you.

Man this sounds so good..
This is I think one of their last recorded songs, imagine just how many more amazing stuff would we hear now if Kurt wanted to live.
Nikola Maticki Yes, it is actually the very last song recorded by Nirvana in the studio, and was taped a few months before Kurt died. It's always been my favourite Nirvana song, and to me it shows what might have been had he lived.
paulph12002 Right? This one is raw yet different from the previous works.
One of my favs too along with Pennyroyal tea.
paulph12002 January 1994 in Brazil. Dave didn't even have a copy of it until they released it on the black album in 2002.
If he wanted to live his music wouldn't be so sincere and emotional.
Nikola Maticki If they continued with this sound in their next album, it could've been the best work they produced. Truly is a shame. I don't see Nirvana as being quite as good as some people do, however I do enjoy their music quite a bit, and I feel like there was still a lot more potential left.
Last song recorded by Nirvana. My God. Amazing...
True, up there with Teen Spirit and Heart Shaped Box IMO.
Don't forget In Bloom and Come as You Are!
Do re mi was the last true recording ykyr is the last studio recording
I remember when they released this. It felt like getting a part of him back, if only for a second.
But this is the last song Kurt wrote.
Even though I have never met you or lived in your time, I really miss you Kurt. Your music will always resonate with me, my refuge from adversity, a sound of fury, a joy. Thanks to you I was able to connect with myself and know what I want.
Thank you for everything and keep rocking, wherever you are.

It's Better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not - Kurt Cobain

FootyFeeds Online this quote isn't by Kurt Cobain lmfao
OrangeCheekun it is, actually. The words he used were ' I rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not'
yeah he changed "its better" to "i'd rather".
still doesnt mean its his fucking quote, kurt himself was quoting it from someone else and probably fucked his words up. doesnt make it his, learn before you try to flex shitbrains.
There is something in this song that I cant describe: the emotion from the voice and the instruments. It makes me feel angry but calm at the same time. I get goosebumps. Does anyone know any song that feels just like this? I need more of it.
There is no song like this. it is unique.
Strapping young lad - polyphony/the new black
Devin townsend - Suicide
Children of bodom - Punch me I bleed
Trivium - Wake(the end is nigh)
Those songs encapsulate this feeling pretty well

Dave Grohl said it’s hard to listen to this song as Kurt sounds like he is wailing 😭 . I can feel that.... he is so missed and hope he is at peace now.
30 years today. If only he knew after how many years his music continues to inspire countless generations... You die twice in life, first when you die... And the second time, when the last person who knew you dies. And for that, he'll always be immortal.

I got to see the Nirvana exhibit at the MoPop in Seattle. Something about seeing his sweater in a case, the pictures, his hand written notes. Seeing all of them as individual people and not just some famous band. Having grown up in the 90s and Nirvana being such a huge, everyday part of my teens, it was a very unexpected emotional experience. I spent an hour in that room with a lump in my throat, fighting back tears. If you.ever have the opportunity to visit it, I highly recommend it.
I don't know why but this makes me cry, there's so much raw emotion in Kurts voice ;-;
I thought I was the only one :'(
I cried
+elmexicanochilango The emotion in his voice, the lyrics, the over all tone of the song. This is so close to his suicide note its insane. I'm not positive but it sounds like he's refering to Frances when he says "You won't be afraid of fear" "I will never bother you" "Nothing ever bothers her" That was a big thing with him towards the end. He had convinced himself that she would be better off without his influence. It's so sad because given another year or so she could have been just the very thing he needed to bounce back.
+chumon1992 I think he was referring more to Courtney Love.
UnitedNaishuns could be, just the you won't be afraid of fear line makes me think of Frances because he said in his suicide note he was terrified of her turning out like him and that he was really worried she was too friendly to strangers because, yknow, baby. But it ignited a fear in him that she'd get taken advantage of which goes with the line nothing seems to bother her, she just wants to love herself. Because infants by nature love themselves. I dunno I could be off base with that part, but I always thought the you won't be afraid of fear line related to Frances because he was very scared that she would get his anxiety and depression.
"Nothing really bothers her. She just wants to love herself." love the way he sings that line. His voice is intoxicating. So amazing.
He's saying that to Courtney
@@randymarsh5052 Yep i knew. Love how blunt it is.

you know you're right....
+beviseduardo I would like to be able, to be legitimate to assert I DO understand their message. I think so, really; I mean I feel so, deeply, but only Kurt could tell... I don't want to be too presomptuous when I see the exent of his art (literally LIVING it in every aspects), and the depth of his art: that's why even if I sincerely feel I am "on that tune" (if I can say it that way) I still don't dare to affirm "oh yeah, I perfectly get what they meant". I think Kurt would be the only person who could tell.
Anyway, all I can say is that nothing is the same since I started listening to Nirvana. I mean, I finally treat myself, give myself the right to see things on a different level, to BE on a different level. And it's so f...... good. I'm so f...... "me" when their music fills my head!
A relief...
(PS: forgive me please if my english is not perfect)
This song goes way deeper than most ppl can imagine and somehow Kurt found a way to express something impossible in as few words as possible... Sometimes one word too many ruins it all...

In my humble opinion, one of Nirvana's best songs ever.P.S.Cobain's voice was tender, soft, powerful and full of anger at the same time...and yes, filled with pain as well, that's for sure.
I couldnt agree more. It's a mix of all his songs, pain, lyrics, and more. Kurt was a genius.
Hi I Recommend an indie rock song called 'looking into the mirror' by Robert Nix
It's a bit of an anomaly, as it didn't come out with any official full album, and was released way after the band had finished, yet is as strong as their best work like Heart-Shaped Box and Lithium, while even pointing a way forwards as to what they could've become had the tragic events of history not taken place. It's never held a place in my heart like the songs I grew up with, say, About a Girl or Territorial Pissings, but it is settling in to being one of their 'greats', although it's taken me some time to really get my head around it. It's been difficult for many of us to move on after what happened, I think. We still love you, Kurt.
No, it was filled with angst
THIS was his suicide letter
One of the best and also one of the most heartbreaking masterpieces to ever have been written.
Stop marketing on nirvana videos the band doesn't even come close bro
you can feel his anguish, his pain, his annihilation. Love you Kurt, you’ll always be missed so much
This song is like therapy for me.
“I have never failed to fail”
It makes me feel better about being an absolute failure in life
it's a bait guys...
I have never failed to have felt pain
Let’s go to therapy as separate human beings if I could give you an advice. I’m sure there’s stuff that you’re good, maybe really good at. There’s a very thin line between modesty and self-hate, I think the 90’s obviously embodied that but there’s a limit. Try not to bring yourself that down, otherwise there’s days you don’t even know why you’re here. Grrr
@@jules8159 yeah I feel more hopeful. I think all it is is a lack of control over everything happening in my life. It makes me feel scared and I don’t like it but I am learning to let go and be one with life. I believe this is a big breakthrough for me and from now on I relinquish control of everything and only control what I can. If someone is reading this, let go of what is uncontrollable because if not it will pull you with it. Just be good and do good.
Hope is a beautiful thing. I have lost it many many times. But it helps. I feel I never will be the same as I was 23 years ago. Time goes by to quick. God bless you and try to smile and laugh

I'm reading Dave Grohl's book (yes, buy it!) and he mentioned this song, which was recorded in January 1994. This is how I arrived here. Watching this video makes me regret all the more never seeing Nirvana live in concert. Don't take things for granted that they'll always be there.

Knowing that this was Kurt's last song before he died, the lyrics hit differently. What a hauntingly beautiful melancholy song. RIP Kurt!!!!
This is by far the saddest music video.
It shows all the great things Nirvana did, all their experiences, their moments, then once the song ends, that's it. Nirvana is and forever will be in the past. Kurt will and forever will be dead since 1994. That's it. It's permanent and you can't reverse it.
It's almost like a farewell from the band.
Rest in peace, Kurt. Rest in peace.
And grunge pretty much died with them. Talents like Nirvana and Pearl Jam made grunge big, a few years later talentless jerks like Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd made it suck.

this song breaks my heart, kurt's life has been so dementedly romanticised. people cry at this stuff like it's a sad movie or something but this is a REAL person. there is nothing pretty about being a heroin addict, about being deeply depressed and suicidal, about being dehumanized and turned into the media's little 'token' like a cool cartoon character. the man was shrieking in fucking pain and the whole world gave him awestruck goo-goo eyes in response. he lived a hell of a life in his twenty-seven years. a hell of a life.
Thank you
I hear ya, he wasn't built to be in the spotlight and have so much fame with his mental state.. it must have been so hard for him, fame and money doesn't care depression, the last month of his life were horrible on him, having Courtney come to rehab to tell him he's a horrible father and dropped Francis on her head while he was high was a horrible horrible thing to do.. personally I believe that visit and statement was the straw that broke the camels back for him.. I wish he never got involved with Courtney. I believe had they not dated he would be alive today.. he never realized his worth as a person, I think he thought he was lucky to find courtney but never realized her manipulation and how she didn't deserve someone like Kurt. He thought he was ugly and didn't deserve anything.. I always wonder what kind of music Kurt woulda made.. he said he wanted to do a solo acoustic album going in a different direction than nirvana.. judging by unplugged I can only imagine how absolutely amazing that album would have been ... If there is an afterlife first thing I wanna do is meet Kurt and listen to the jams he's been making in the afterlife, that would be so awesome 😎

Background info for everyone: "You Know You're Right" was recorded January 30, 1994 at Robert Lang studios in Seattle just before Nirvana embarked on a European tour, which turned out to be their last. It was the last song the band recorded, as Kurt Cobain killed himself on April 5, 1994. The song wasn't released until eight years later when it was issued as a single and included on the Nirvana Greatest Hits album.
The group recorded this when they had some spare time one weekend. It was not intended for any specific album, so when Cobain died, it went unreleased.
Kurt wrote this song as a sarcastic reference to his wife Courtney Love, at a very turbulent time in their relationship (shortly before his suicide), the title and predominant lyric: "you know your right" and also "nothing really bothers her, she just wants to love herself", both refer to Kurt's frustration with Courtney.
When Cobain died, the two remaining members (Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic) formed a partnership with his widow, Courtney Love, that controlled the rights to Nirvana's songs. Grohl and Novoselic wanted to release this sooner, but Love refused, and it was not until 2002 that they reached an agreement where she allowed a Nirvana Greatest Hits CD with this on it. As part of the agreement, the Universal Music Group, which released the CD, let Love out of her contract with the label.
Grohl went years without listening to this song. Until it was mixed for the Greatest Hits album, he didn't even have a copy of it.
Before the song was released as a single in 2002, it was called "On the Mountain" by bootleggers. The only time the song was performed live, Dave Grohl told the audience, "This is our last song, its called 'All Apologies'" without realizing Cobain had started playing "You Know You're Right." The poor audio quality left the bootleggers unable to make out exactly what Grohl had said, hence the mistaken title. >>
Before Nirvana released this, Courtney Love played a live acoustic version of it called "You've Got No Right" for an MTV Unplugged special with her band Hole. She sang "Hey" instead of "Pain." Here's how she introduced the song: "This is a song that Kurt wrote. We worked on it a little bit, we can't do it that well but it's Valentine's Day, and maybe he can hear it, and he'll go, 'You know, you really f---ed up my song, Courtney. Don't even try it.' But if it works, it's dedicated to my mother-in-law.
There is a very rare bootleg recording of Nirvana playing this live on October 23, 1993
Dave Grohl recalled the sessions that produced this song during a 2014 interview with Studio Brussel. "We had some time off before a tour, and Kurt wanted to go in and demo some stuff, so I said, 'Hey, why don't we do it at this studio down the street from my house,'" he said. "And we went down there, and we had three days booked. Kurt came in the last day and we were like, 'Okay, what do you wanna do?' And Kurt said, 'Well, why don't we do that song we've been doing at soundcheck?' And so we rehearsed it, I think, once, and then recorded it. Kurt did three or four vocal takes, and that was it."
Edit: Please stop arguing about Kurts suicide
