Actually we didnt have any winter tires, just standard. The only really snowing part was maybe 2 km on the Khunjerab pass, the rest was normal asphalt.
As far as I know, you cannot drive directly from China to India because the two countries do not have a defined border, only a de facto controlled ceasefire front. . . .Interestingly, if you really want to travel through China and India overland, you can only do so via Nepal or Pakistan first.

That's right, for us the easiest way was first through Pakistan then to India 😁
