Hello I enjoyed this video very much as always you have something very interesting to see and I hope that you continue to keep everyone's spirits up and shining have a wonderful day today and a better day tomorrow
I'm jealous this is one of only three distilleries I have left to visit since it opened up in 2007 and probably one of my biggest ones on the list but just can't get over that away for a tour
Thank you so much Amanda for bringing this video to us on George Washington still, and how alcohol was produced during the colonies of early America..🇺🇸..👍😊💯
I don't know if it is ironic or not, but Washington had the largest distillery in the country at the time yet one of his first major issues as president was the "Whiskey Rebellion" in Pennsylvania.
Hey, whats Paul doing there? I see him on StaleKrackers channel. I think he makes Rum in key west with his wife. Edit: I just learned Paul Menta has his own channel. Hes a chef that distills.
Yes Paul is fantastic! He was also invited there like I was as a guest distiller to work the stills. It a very unique group of people that get to come and learn and share information. Paul is an awesome rum distiller and a chef
Amanda invest in a cheap gambrel for your phone to make the video quality better. Love the content and want to see you put out more content. Keep doing it
HI Amanda, so, 60% rye, 35% corn and 5% barley...if only barley was malted is there enough power to convert rye and corn? Can you share what grains was used as a malt in this recipe? tnx, cheers.
The correct ratio of malted barley 6 row can convert all of the starches of the corn and rye. 10-20 percent is more of a certain way to assure proper conversion.
@@AmandaBryantDistilling ok, tnx. so, 5% most likely at that time wasn't converting all of it, but it was "good enough" I assume...I understand that much but real math, even I was watching how to make a mash bill, never use it, I am in fruits, my part of the world 99% works fruits. tnx again.
I had some issues with my computer breaking. Got a new one and I am trying to recover the footage I was editing. I may have to start over when I am not traveling. But I would like to finish that yes
@tucksmith8300 actually George Washington imposed the first whiskey Tax on America, creating legal taxed alcohol and illegal untaxed alcohol.. or moonshine, at which point he shortly after built this legal distillery. So he did distill coloianially before liquor was taxed and also distilled legally paying taxes after he create the liquor tax.. he created moonshine actually in a way.
@danielfrancisco8678 George imposed the first Tax on Whiskey, and actually created regulated tax distillation and there fore he in a way created moonshine

It's open to the public to visit most of the year. If you can get to the area it's very worth it.
