@BillMcGirr yes it's a special place anyone can go see the buildings when they are not distilling there they have hours open to the public

@tucksmith8300 actually George Washington imposed the first whiskey Tax on America, creating legal taxed alcohol and illegal untaxed alcohol.. or moonshine, at which point he shortly after built this legal distillery. So he did distill coloianially before liquor was taxed and also distilled legally paying taxes after he create the liquor tax.. he created moonshine actually in a way.

@ He grew the corn, barley, wheat right there on his plantation and he did it all during the whisky rebellion and he also paid the taxes on it

I had some issues with my computer breaking. Got a new one and I am trying to recover the footage I was editing. I may have to start over when I am not traveling. But I would like to finish that yes

Yes Paul is fantastic! He was also invited there like I was as a guest distiller to work the stills. It a very unique group of people that get to come and learn and share information. Paul is an awesome rum distiller and a chef

For sure practicing distilling this way is very important to preserve the history of distilling I love it.

It was 6 row barely malt.

The correct ratio of malted barley 6 row can convert all of the starches of the corn and rye. 10-20 percent is more of a certain way to assure proper conversion.

@@AmandaBryantDistilling ok, tnx. so, 5% most likely at that time wasn't converting all of it, but it was "good enough" I assume...I understand that much but real math, even I was watching how to make a mash bill, never use it, I am in fruits, my part of the world 99% works fruits. tnx again.

Yes it's all real whiskey 12-14 hour days they barrel it and sell bottle releases at Mount Vernon In the Mansions Gift Shop

They sell rye whiskey brandy cherry bounce clear whiskey a number of spirits made here
