They did file. You can still get parts from them, but a lot of specialty items are long lead times. They quoted 4 to 6 weeks for the bearings but the customer found them from a bearing company and had them in a couple of days. I don't know of any aftermarket places, but I do know that Feeler, the company who copied the HLVH have parts that interchange.
hello sir . I have Harding t 42 sp and when I try to turn a shaft centre to centre, I get chatter on the revolving centre side of the tailstock.. can you please tell how can I fix this issue. and to align tailstock properly..
Something is loose, that's what causes chatter. Either not enough pressure on the tailstock, or bad bearings in your live center. As far as alignment, I use a test bar in the tailstock and indicate it using z-axis travel. If you don't have a test bar, just extend the quill and use that. Once it is straight, move the tailstock near the headstock and use a co-axial indicator mounted in the headstock to tram and adjust the tailstock center. I believe the T42 has an eccentric quill to adjust for misalignment.
@@OtherBrotherDarylSmith hello sir. sir hydraulic pressure is ok , everything is tighten . but still there is a lot of chatter on the revolving centre side...
Like I said before, it is probably the bearings in the live center. Do you have another live center to try? This is a tailstock and not a subspindle, correct?
I hear hardinge filed for chapter 11. Are there any aftermarket suppliers for parts?
