Super Secret Tech: Use a recoilless or a quasar and jump out of the mech to crack the head armor of a bile titan, this lets the mech kill the bile titan in like 4-6 autocannon headshots instead of like 30.
(FYI Its no longer available without purchase.) My dwindling hope was the stats were set prior to the new balance direction with the Creative Officer. That it hopefully receives a decent buff in one of the follow up buff passes/patches. As it stands, really there is no point of taking mechs over support weapons or even some primaries damage wise, and not even going into the left arm issue that both mechs suffer.
Against bugs, I already love it. Walking around like a walking anchor point for an objective push. Jumping in and out of it to quasar a titan's face and finish it off with a couple salvos. I'm not suffering from ammo shortage because I'm not one to mag dump heavy weapons fire into some low level chumps, but it's also not like I can't make short work of them in a pinch. Usually, I'll just jump out clear up the little guys with my pummeler smg. It's also nice to have a sustained power boost while I wait for my Autocannon sentry to go off cooldown, which is my go-to for dealing with groups of heavy bugs. That said a lot of this doesn't work if the enemy is already all over me. So in response I can ditch my mech, and it will basically get ignored, so I can come back to it later. Like, you gotta do what you can to make it a fluid element of your gameplay. The trap I feel is too easy to get caught in, is the idea that the developers will ever let us have a win the game button. Once something is powerful enough for everyone to find success with, the game is basically over. No one has to think about how to improve, adapt or mix up their loadouts and playstyles to complement their missions or teammates. That's how I viewed the balance philosophy anyway. If something overperforms everything else is underperforming. It's just easier to pull back the outlier.
Honestly, the Helldivers Reddit should put a moratorium on posts about new gear for 48 hours to at least force people not to launch into kneejerk narratives which then snowballs into an entire community thinking one way without even trying the new equipment. The mech is amazing against everything but a few enemies or scenarios. Hell, I still use the Eruptor on most missions and the wailing over that gun continues to this day.
For an explanation as to the main complaint at 8:27 he fires 8 rounds into the turret of a shredder tank, but the shoulder fired AC would kill this tank in 4. That is the difference durable damage makes, the time to kill is the same, but twice the ammo expenditure on what it should be killing in the same quantity.
i like it but if i wanna use it more, it needs its aiming fixed and a way to get more ammo. if these things are changed, ill love it with no complaints
Appreciate your content man. Your analysis is the most balanced in my opinion and you leave the toxicity that's sadly rife in the HD2 online community at the door. It's probably a case of those enjoying things are just playing the game while meantime serial whiners lose their mind over any inconvenience but in either case your take on things is refreshing.
This mech pairs REALLY WELL with the other one. The rockets on that one can take down the titans this one can’t handle. Two players with one mech type each can solo a whole level 8 bug breach
Agree that the rockets on the other one can down titans, but as to the 2manning a breach thing...not to be mean but that's not an achievement worthy of any note. You're likely to burn through a large amount of ammo doing that and you're going to have likely a dozen or more of those same breaches happening over the course of an entire mission.
Works on 7 just fine. People need to stop using 9 as a base for if a weapon is good or not. The highest difficulty should be hard and not a walk in the park like people apparently think it should be! Games are not balanced around the hardest difficulty because the vast majority of players simply are not going to play it. Also keep in mind all EXO's still have a square port on the roof of the cab so it's not out of the question that as some point they will add an upgrade that will allow the use of stratagems from mechs
The mech is pretty fun, I do hope that a large balance patch is on its way to bring things up to be more viable and I do belive that will happen fairly soon. The ability to resupply at some level and a shorter cooldown would make mechs much easier to use and bumping up the durable damage to somewhere around 100-150 (doesn't need to be too high given you get a bunch of ammo) would make it much more reasonable against heavy armoured targets.
A short list of things i find good/bad about it: - You can't bring it too close to some objectives as it can have very limited escape options. - Sometimes bots will fire at you when you can't see them, such as in a blizard, and it is just harder to find cover. - It can deal with pretty much anything given enough ammo and time, be it far away destroyable objectives or grunts. - Though the aim is a little off, it has very low recoil and good handling. It honestly feels more like a solution to (almost) every problem, but deals with anything too big or small too slowly. A jack of all trades, masters of not dying to grunts.
I just want the exosuits to be as good as they can be. They feel super restricted rn and they can be amazing with some fixes here and there. No one talks about the exosuits’ environmental immunities, either. No fire or gas damage taken (literally stood in a fire tornado/gas strike and took no damage), walk right through trees, barricades, stun crystals, etc.
it looks like a base breaker. it destroys fabricators and closes holes while dealing with mid tier enemies. it has the utility of using the autocannon and buddy reloading yourself.
Yep, I was also watching another video today where the guy was trying really hard to convince everyone the mech was actually good. On his demonstration he had to leave the mech every 15 or so seconds to deal with something the mech couldn't: napalm and grenades to breaches, AT shots to BTs and chargers. At that point he was pretty much only using the mech to kill brood commanders, the man was spending over half his mech time outside the actual mech, the mech looked more like a hindrance but he was adamant at convincing everyone it was actually good 😂
@@GrimJackalThen what's the point of you mech if you lose every single positive?????? Recoilless is the man these days
I mean having to jump put your mech to make your mech work defeats the purpose of having a mech in the first place.

Pop the BT head with 1 AT, then you can kill it in as little as 5 or 6 shots with the new AC Exo (though the guns are more equivalent to AMRs)
The biggest problem with these is we cant use stratagems inside, like in HD1

To bad you can’t take both in either lol
Me and my friend were doing this in nines. The real problem is you can't take both of them or the cooldown needs to go away.
I can take both mechs just fine.
They actually recently just posted that the reason for this was a limitation of resources for the PS5

Is there a level requirement to unlock the mech like there was with the other?
Yes, same level as the other one or more given it's order in the list.
