    I have both the Pro Circuit Plat 2 pipe and the FMF Gnarly pipe for my 2019 YZ250. The FMF pipe makes more low end power, has a shiner plating, comes with new O-rings in the flange, and has about 1/4" more frame clearance at the front of the cradle in case you hit something and bend the header section. They both have thicker walls than a MX pipe. Plus, PC does not have their pipes on stock since the covid scam.

    Try this comparison. (you are very close to it). In a high gear at low rpm's, instead of using steady throttle, get on the gas full throttle like a dyno, and you should be able to feel (and measure with your gps cell phone stuff) the acceleration from low rpm's. I don't use a cell phone so I don't know what it is capable of, but if you can also see your rpm, (possible with a $100.00 induction tachometer, with a wire wrapped around your spark plug wire and a screen on the bars.), you can start at the same low rpm in a high gear, and measure the time it takes to get a higher rpm point of your choice. Other than giving you torque numbers, that is actually how a dyno works, Work done over time. It is very important to get the jetting perfect for each test also, or the results will be skewed.

    Pune la main urmatorul numar , mai bogat(ex . de la 165 -> 168) cand treci de la ktm stock la gnarly. Si va avea si "high rev" la fel sau " top end" ca inainte. In rest nu trebuie sa umbli la pilot/needle.

    Same on my 17exc250 extra low end for sure. Must be doing it wrong VR, maybe got a Fatty and someone messing with you lol

  • @theninja001

    I think the Gnarly is similar to the Fatty, low end grunt but not a lot up top, but the Gnarly is thicker and heavier to survive rocks and whatnot!

    • @Juicemann455
      @Juicemann455 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      theninja001 the fatty is supposed to increase power moderately throughout the powerband. The gnarly increases mainly low end. The fatty is usually advertised as being a do it all pipe while the gnarly is for the serious woods rider

    I have put fmf gnarly on my last 3 bikes, They check all the boxes, performance, sound , and , looks. Definitely gives you more low end and a little top end.

      Only if its a gnarly woods pipe.
      The gnarly desert doesent give bottom power.

    • @chadrides914
      @chadrides914 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original gnarly does not give top end. It removes top end. No other way around that.

    • @tdog54
      @tdog54 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Late here also. How did you go with the pipe? I just bought a 97 CR500 that had a gold series gnarly already on it so don’t really know about power comparison but certainly looks nice and shiny.

    Gnarly on my KX500 makes it feel like a 4 stroke.

  • @Freaki91

    There are 2 diffrent gnarly pipes.
    Woods and the desert.
    They are totally diffrent but allmost looks the same.
    My mate had a 300 exc with desert. And its like mid to top end power.
    My 250 exc with woods has more bottom power than his 300 and i can run a taller gear in corners. Just saying. And we both got the same setup on ignition map and carburator and vforce reeds. And silencer.
    It looks like you have the desert = not much bottom.

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree with you, there are multiple pipes, but make very little difference on the same bike, yeah you can change timing and reeds and jets and you know what, I got a 4 stroke since than and I love it, zero drama zero pipe to bend

    I can't take advise from dirt bike riders who ride with a bar forward freestyle set up. The entire industry picked it up. The 80's were the age of reason for dirt bikes. You guys are irrational, and you crash more because of it. Yea yea, I fell for it too and tried it for 2 seasons. Never had good control of the front end.
