    Congratulations Brad!!! I have watched every Fusion video you've done. I eagerly awaited each new episode of the live stream series I was watching at the time (the pencil sharpener was my favorite, well, maybe it was the Star Shooter :)) I even started re-watching the live streams because quality Fusion 360 training is sparse, and I learned so much from them.
    Good luck, and you definitely have an interested party in me.

    Are you kidding me!!! OK, you win. I liked, I’m following, and if these tips keep being this good, I’ll become a customer! I’m a “Lean” practitioner, and it has always bugged me that I have to take my hand off the Connexion to hit a shortcut key to trigger all these functions. (And wasting time looking for the darned checkmark when I finish shape can be frustrating.) I’ll invest the time to learn the context menu positions and start using these shortcuts now. BTW, i started my technology company in 1998, sold it in 20218 to a global tech company, and retired last year after 5-years with them. I wish you the best in your new endeavor. It can be challenging at times, but the freedom to guide your own destiny makes it all worthwhile!

    Best of Luck with the new venture 👍I have been learning from you and Lars and ..... for a long time and still get a new bit here or there even years later. Awesome news Brad. I've been following and watching you on TH-cam for years and have learned so much from your videos. Best of luck in your new endeavor. Side note, an idea for a future video. I'm jumping into the CNC world with a Shapeoko CNC, and would love to see some videos from you on the manufacturing side of Fusion for us sawdust makers...thanks for everything Brad!

      I'm definitely going to be doing more CAM videos soon. I'm also going to be doing more of the "project" videos that people seem to love. Thanks for being a long-time follower! On a side note, I'm actually teaching a class down in Denver at a MakerSpace down there on using Fusion with their Shapeoko CNC, ironically...

    WOOHOO! I'm happy for you Brad! Congrats on being your own boss!
    As for the right click, I've only rarely used the menu and never used the marking menu. Will try that. Thanks Brad!
    Question: Is there another way to review your features other than clicking on the timeline itself?

    • @bradtallis8968
      @bradtallis8968  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! You can edit a feature by pre-selecting it in the viewport (a fillet, for example) and then right-clicking and select "Edit Feature". I personally prefer to select the component and activate the component. Then it only shows the features that were used in the creation of that component and is much easier to see than all the features in a long timeline.

    Awesome, good luck with your LLC Mr. Fusion! Had to watch this several times to get this. The Sketch label has a down arrow "V" which means there's a sub menu. Too bad we can't configure this sub-sketch menu, or can we? Thanks.
    ps. the "finish sketch" gesture is what I've looked for years.

    • @bradtallis8968

    • @CraigHollabaugh
      @CraigHollabaugh หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bradtallis8968 yes it would be, 'c' for circle and 'r' for rect are muscled memoried for me. I'd like the marking sub to have center rectangle and polygon. But I'll take this new ability as is even though its been there for years. Thanks Brad.

    I find the gesture thing quite annoying but I cannot find out how to disable it. (Sometimes I just want to right click and happen to move the mouse slightly, making something unpredictable to happen.)

    Good luck on your future plans! A couple issues I run into - when I draw a spline - and finish it, it remains blue. If I move the spline often it will reshapes itself. How do I turn the blue line to black so it won't reconfigure. Second question and maybe a topic for you - If I am creating a design for the first time, I don't know what it will look like and don't know any of the specific about it. So, I just start drawing and editing and eventually I create the design but it is a mess with a bunch of fixes embedded. After I finish the design I will often go back and layout the model in a better workflow. Is there a preferred strategy to starting a new design?

    • @bradtallis8968
      @bradtallis8968  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you! As for the spline, you can use the "Fix" constraint on the spline points and then it will turn the spline from blue to black. Otherwise, you would have to dimension the location of each spline point to "lock down" their location. Your second question would definitely make for an interesting topic to cover. I'll add it to my list. I would say create everything as components and keep your sketches simple.

      @@bradtallis8968I just found out today by stumbling around that you can turn the spline black by putting dimensions on the green handles. Thanks for all that you share. I will be reaching out for help in the future.

    Humm ... I'm a big fan of the right mouse button, particularly with the context sensitive options that pop up after selecting something, but the Marking Menu and radial gestures ... not so much.
    Personally, I'd prefer it if Adsk allowed the users to choose how they wanted to adapt the user interface to suit their own workflows, rather than offering a one size fits all solution ... $0.10
    However, I wish you the very best of luck with CAD Ed, and long may you continue producing these excellent videos ... 🙂

    • @bradtallis8968
      @bradtallis8968  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya, I think it would be cool if you could "customize" the marking menu to commands you use the most. However, I still find it quite useful. And thank you for watching the videos!
