    AMAZING video. Finally someone explained precision and non- precision in a simple well spoken manner. Many thanks.

    Hello as far as I know for precision approaches you consider RVR for planing minimas and for NON precision approaches you need to consider RVR /VIS and celing as well, how it is with APV approaches ? I chceck EASA OPS and there is nothing about it , just only you cannot consider APV approach only airports as you destination alternate or enroute alternate.

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I hope you doing great!! For APV approach I take into consideration the NPA minima or the CAT1 approach minima depending on the DH MDH.

    Hi captain great work thanks for the video. I do have a question .. Why are APV approaches such as LPV considered non precision when you actually receive lateral + vertical guidance but also when doing the approach you decent to DA and not MDA? .. Kinda confusing to understand why.

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are very welcome!! DA is used for Precision Approaches..

    Some LPV approaches have CAT I minimums, are they still Non Precision Approaches?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lpv are not considered precisions, are considered as approach with vertical guidance.

    rnav lnav/vnav is an approach with vert guidance ? also do you ever get vectored for an rnav app, if so would you just update legs page ?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I hope you are doing great! Many thanks for watching.
      Yes, the RNAV Lnav/Vnav approaches are APV, that's why you have a Decision Altitude and not a Minimum Descent Altitude.
      Yes I have been vectored many times for an RNAV approach, you can either constantly update the Legs page or you can extend the centerline and once established on the intercepting Heading push LNAV.
      Remember that you need to be established on final before your FAF.
      Let me know if I have answered your questions.
      Have a great day

      @@PILOTCLIMB thanks a lot and yes do you always have to manually enter the extended centre line I thought for example when a SID was selected it automatically appeared and isn’t it 14.0 dme the extended centre line if I remember correct
