    It's been a while since I've tuned in and I'd forgotten how good it was to watch Karl play - especially when he is on a roll. Paul - thanks again for providing the humorous yet enlightening commentary.

    Nothing better to watch than Karl striking it pure and rolling in puts

    Well whatdoyoknow, the very next day Karl's putting stroke has magically self-corrcted itself. He's rolling them smoothly, pace and line is money and the putts are dropping. Awesome!
    And special thanks for the extra Thorbjornsen footage.

    Been fan since the beginning of your vids. Very inspirational watching his journey. I remember telling my golf buddies about Karl when he was a small kid. He grew into a fine young man. Kee up the great camera work and commentary. Never missed a minute and I’m looking forward to watch the rest. I played Poppy Hills in January 2020 and it’s my favourite track so far. Have played only two in US, TPC Harding Park being the second. Cheers from Slovakia

    Great playing by Karl on Poppy Hills, a very difficult trac. He's good enough to play on any tour in the world. I wonder what his driver swing speed and ball speed are. Thanks for sharing you and Karl's 10 year journey with us. Really enjoyable and inspiring......

      118 and 305 carry, but can crank another 10 yards when he needs to. At his last session with Col Swatton he was asked to add 10 on his next swing and he did it on the number. Problem is, the harder he swings the less fairways he'll usually hit. That said, Karl had his Driver on a string at the 2019 Bobby Chapman and beat the field by 7 shots on a 36-hole event, missing out on the tournament record by just a shot with rounds of 63 & 64. Here's the media read on that: scgolfclub.com/2019/10/21/top-ranked-junior-vilips-wins-chapman-championship-2/

      Thanks for the support. Karl turning Pro is a poisoned chalice though, as wherever a tournament is covered by a network, video recording with anything other than cell phones is not allowed, and even using a gymbal with a phone is prohibited. So, if Karl is not in a featured group, we'll get no video of him.

    Hi Paul what a difference a day makes - I have seen a few here in Adelaide with + handicaps that didn’t make it, it will be very interesting to see what CW and Stanford do to shape his game.

    • @KarlGolf
      @KarlGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The difference with Karl is the team he's building around himself. The academics at Stanford are, of course, crippling, but to have a Stanford degree is priceless in case the golf goes to hell-in-a-hand-basket. He's got Swatton as his lead man, Luke Mackey from GA overseeing his physical stuff and Colin Morikawa's coach Rick Sessinghaus is his mental trainer. This has all come together relatively recently and the results are just starting.

    Ahh! A cliffhanger. Guess I’ll be back later! Do you reckon they will let you follow Karl around with a camera once’s he’s on the tour :) ?

    • @KarlGolf
      @KarlGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, because of broadcast rites. Had the same issue at the 2019 US Am where Karl played the best golf of his career against Brad Dalke and Golf Channel only got 2 shots on camera whilst he was 5-under thru 17 on Pinehurst #2 and Dalke was only 1 shot back. Match of the tournament totally missed by the broadcasters, whereas I could have got the entire match on video so that everyone could see it.

    I totally understand why but it's a real shame that Karl has lost his accent. If he goes pro and makes it big it'll be hard for australians to get behind him

    • @KarlGolf
      @KarlGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We'll have to put him in the same category as Greg Norman, Steve Elkington and David Graham. Varying levels of success and popularity, so you do have a point. Karl's brand that we've been cultivating however, is very broad-based.
