When I was a camp counselor in Seattle on the Sound...I had a 6 year old name Seth Goldstein who was exactly like this. "I dont give a crap about hiking on this God Forsaken Rock ." He was classic.

I had a 5 year old foster kid living with me and we were out clothes shopping when one of the moms from kindergarten came up to us. She says: "Hi Ava, has Brady been behaving in class?" Without missing a beat she replied "how should I know, I'm not his babysitter". I adopted her. She's a senior this year and this skit reminds me of her at that age 💗

Fred is like the only good part about this skit.
Jonah’s performance made me laugh on two levels. First, his delivery is funny as hell. Second, his mannerisms remind me of the stage trick I taught my kids where one talks while wearing an oversized sweater and their sibling hides behind them with their arms through the sleeves. It becomes a game of both trying to improvise together without knowing what the other will do next. Either the hands try to match the speaker’s words or vice-versa.
He carried the entire sketch by himself. Great actor.

This is one of the best monologue performances given on snl.
The joke is that they have to read the cards. The difficulty is to keep it funny and stay in character. He kept it funny all the way through. awesome!

PS: they have no time to memorize anything, they basically get all the scripts ready staurday morning. they are always changing lines, sketches and details, it's impossible to memorize everything. watch interviews with the actors or Franco's documentary about SNL and you'll understand. Plus, for the cast it becomes easier to act like they're not reading, but the hosts don't have the same training

I don´t like when they can´t act without reading. His eyes are looking at the text all the time.
They are often actually told to read the cue cards because the script changes so often, sometimes lines will appear on the cards that they have never seen before. Some guest hosts have gotten told off for not reading the cue cards.

The one thing I can’t understand, though, is why doesn’t the “his hobbies include ‘stretching the truth’ He describes himself as ‘OUTDOORSY!’” but didn’t get a bigger laugh. That shit was hilarious!
