Translink is hyping for our future bus system and I’m all for it.

fully separated lanes would be far more ideal then simple line separation.

I don’t understand why would Vancouver’s Translink want to feature the Bay Area’s meaningless BRT projects. For those of you don’t know, this Tempo BRT makes frequent stops, which is slower than the former limited stop rapid 1R. The 40 Foothill which runs somewhat parallel to Tempo actually moves faster. Better yet, for those who ride end to end would just ride BART instead. Back to Vancouver, many B-Line buses were replaced by Skytrain anyway.

Exactly this. Tempo is great in theory but we need to take this as just an example and not a direct rubric. The level boarding platform and other amenities are great but it needs to be fast like VIVA but frequent as the B line. Tempo is not a good example for frequent fast service but, for door to door connection it’s fine. This isn’t something we should strive for though as in Metro Vancouver transit is seen as something that needs to be faster than driving and frequent as heck like the 99!
