The bow stringer . . . line should be a length where ya pull it to approx waist length to string bow. Line on new stringers are always too long, unless you're Shaq-like. Tie loop in middle to shorten line. Good luck with the bow fishin'.
Awesome, thank you! We had some bow fishing success on a later video. I'm completely self-taught when it comes to bow fishing and set-up 🤣 Thank you for watching!
I don't know if you have small stones or rocks in your area but if you do dig your hole down a couple of feet and fill the hole with stone 4" minus the put your block on the stone. The stone will bridge the muck.We do that on job site haul roads in mucky areas.
Thank you for the idea! It would take me quite a bit of time to come up with that much 4" minus, but it's not impossible. I'll start collecting rocks and see how much we can get. Thank you for watching!
Thank you! The paddle is a bit large for me, as the man I purchased the canoe from was very tall. Yes, I've met two of my neighbors who either live or have a cabin out in this area. They are all great people!
Another great video!, what part of Canada do you have your cabin? your cabin is coming along great, and it didn't shift with the wet foundation. You must have some warm days I see you got on a tee shirt, Here in Wisconsin the temp is in the 30's. Good fishing, you got more pike. Have a good day, I'll watch for more video.
Thank you! I'm in South Central Alaska, not Canada. It's about 1 hour bush flight outside of anchorage. This footage is all from early September; it's much colder and snowy out there right now.
Thank you for watching and your concern! I was always packing a side arm on this trip. You can often see it strapped to my belt in some of the camera shots.
Not to my knowledge. I've only seen spawning salmon and pike in my particular lake. The river system in these parts also have trout, grayling, and probably a few other species I'm not tracking on yet.
Thank you for watching, as usual! I left the footing exposed. There were only two bags of gravel out there from the previous owner. If you dig down about 5 feet out there you will hit an organic gravel mix. That will definitely serve useful in the future!
Thank you for watching! The lake is extremely quiet and peaceful with the exception of the occasional motor boat. There's usually only one or two of those per week from the time I've spent out there.
Thank you! My idea/plan to get water away from the footings is to do some kind of improvised french drainage system. Dig out lake-ward sloping trenches from each footing and run some piping down to give the water and easy place to go. Let me know if you have any better ideas!
Looks like the water is coming from a small spring. Could be a source for fresh water but the cabin footing is in the way. Good luck.
Good thinking! There seems to be several fresh water springs along the hillside there, so it may be worth turning one into a natural water sources!
Really nice saw. Hope you can find a good permanent fix for your cabin without moving it. Beautiful lake.
Thank you! I've been brainstorming different ideas and am sure one of them will serve as a more permanent solution. Thank you for watching!

Awesome some fresh protine you certainly mastered the J stroke with your canoe. Curious if you have met any of your nigbours.

You are welcome.@@OhashiOutdoors I'm sorry, I got mixed up with some other videos About a guy in Canada. Wituik Back Country,
I see there are other camps on the lake. What’s the name of the lake. Thanks
Thank you for watching! There are several other cabins and camps on the lake which can often be seen during the fishing segments of my videos.
Hi. Great videos. Noticing something. Them bears are close by. Do you have at least a pistol on you?
Thank you for watching and your concern! I was always packing a side arm on this trip. You can often see it strapped to my belt in some of the camera shots.

Any walleye in that lake/river?

Enjoyed your video my friend. I don't know but if you filled the hole with gravel would that be a temporary fix? Things are taking shape. Cheers.

Cabin looks great! You've made a lot of progress. It seems so quiet on the lake.
