- What is the binding order of a cylinder lock. In this video I give a brief explanation of what "binding order" means, a couple of examples of what causes binding order. I show how a Challenge Lock can be opened (using the S.P.P. lock picking technique) once the binding order is known.

I called out the two witnesses (from the book of Revelation) because two pins need not be picked. The idea is of you lift them they should overset.
I love to find the binding order of a lock. Once you work it out its much easier to pick as you demonstrated very well. Some locks is not too difficult to find the binding order but other locks you can spend a long time on it.

Nice to see you picking on camera. When I first started picking I always wanted to learn the binding order of a lock, I am less bothered now and rarely learn a binding order, order, more relying on the feedback I am getting from the lock at the time. Obviously some locks this just doesn't work for and if picked out of sequence are much harder to open. Ha! Started typing this before the end of your video, thought it was over and had thought 'thats not a very challenging challenge lock' then you showed the keypins and milling, I think you just made it look easy. Nice picking 🎉
