  • I spent a ton of time this week working on getting the tower closer to being done but hit a few snags.
#1) We are getting a bracket fabricated the will stabilize the tower to the shack
#2) Amazon or the seller misplaced my Andrews Female N connecter, so I am having to order a new one.
BUT watch the video to see where we are so far. PART 3 will hopefully be coming sooner than later and we should have this thing up and running by the end of the month.

Don, I'd be curious when it's all said and done to know what the total cost was and the break down. I know you had some of the tower sections donated and the sweet deal on the coax.
What's the weather proofing on the winch?
All and all setup looks great.
Also, what's the big news? I thought we were going to get another hint...HA!

Well... currently I'm in it about 1450. with a few more things I'll need to buy. As far as the winch, I'm just going to bag it and the cables when not in use. The big news, lol... we're waiting on a few things in order to be official and then I can announce it. We're SOOOOO close! Thanks for watching and I always enjoy your comments and questions!

With these repeaters going for about $1000, how does one find one for only $100?

Honestly just meeting somebody who had one sitting around... total luck. I have a few other friends that bought a few for well under 500.

Unfortunately i don't. Sometimes a used one is cheaper than building one. I just picked up a Vertex VXR7000 for 100 bucks.
