I actually have a similar build where I'm doing 16 Dex/Cha, 14 Con, on a lvl4 Assassin Rogue / lvl8 Old One, Pact of The Blade Lock. Take two ASI to get Cha to 20 (before gear) and Defensive Duelist for the armor bonus on missed attacks, which should be VERY often once you get access to Darkness and Devil's Sight on Warlock.

You can get permanent advantage on dex ability checks (stealth, sleight of hand..) quite early through The Graceful Cloth (+2 dex cloth armor). It counts as the cat's grace spell. In addition you only need 18 dex and can spend the second feat elsewhere

There is some alternative gear that still works very well. The Bhaal armor of course is amazing, and the Bloodthirst dagger gives a similar bonus. You don't get the stealth bonus, but you get double damage, which is of course absurd. There's also the Dancing Breeze, a finesse halberd, and Phalar Aluve, a finesse longsword. These can both be used with Great Weapon Mastery and Sneak Attack, which is great. For more stealth, keeping Shadowheart as Trickery gives her Blessing of the Trickster, which more than makes up for not having stealth advantage. The Graceful Cloth also gives advantage to stealth.
From level 3 through 6, you'll be relying on darkness and Devil's Sight to kill enemies, so there's even an early strategy before getting Greater Invisibility. In my version, I did all 7 warlock levels first. I used a two-hander until i got the Duelist's Perogative, which is just better, but I sometimes swapped to Bloodthirst.
In other words, the items that you provide are amazing, but there are options, even as early as act 1. I'd say that you want to get Graceful Cloth and Phalar Aluve in Act One, graduate to Dancing Breeze and Elegant Leather Armor in early Act 3, finally ending up with Duelist Perogative and the Bhaal armoe in late Act 3. These make you an incredible, sneaky Warlock assassin.

one note is once you get pact of the blade from warlock dump dex and put into charisma since your weapon wont get damage bonus from dex anymore your can just get dex gloves from moonrise tower in act 2 that raises your dex to 18 so you still get all the other benefits from dex outside of damage

Everyone is complaining about Pact of Blade nerfing the weapon but you dont have to use it until you get 2 hits with pacted weapons. at that point 2 hits do more than 1 and the build focuses on the stealth checks above all else which you need the dex for over charisma. Its a fun build not a 400+ damage a turn min max build

Love this build, thank you! I am adjusting the Charisma a bit more and dropping INT/CON and sacrificing 1 DEX in feats but otherwise love this!
I wonder though.. instead of Repelling Blast I wonder if ONE WITH SHADOWS is a better choice for Eldritch Invocations because you can use it in an emergency and just stay invisible if you don't move. I LOVE Repelling blast and Agonizing Blast right now together so hard up choosing it but just wondering if that has been used in this build and tested as One With Shadows seems like a perfect build for this concept. Also thinking I don't really WANT to move enemies away from me, I want to murder them all silently, so blasting them backwards actually is a negative here...
Also some suggestions I posted in a few replies I would check out.. but for equipment..
    2+ Char Hat Birthright
Shade-Slayer Cloak - 1 Reduction of Crit pt needed
Stalker Gloves - +1 to initiative to stack with chest and sneak attack boost
Disintegrating Night walkers to stay on your feet and since I didn't choose flight or dimension door it'll help Misty walk more.
The Dead shot Bow - 1 reduction of Crit pt needed and Keen atk to improve ranged when needed
Infernal Rapier for Wyll or Crimson Mischief until I can get the Duelist sword!
Using Ring of Arcane Synergy but for my other ring using.. BOOM:
.... Band of the Mystic Scoundrel, after hitting you can cast illusion or enchantment spell AS BONUS ACTION and I picked up mirror image so it'll help that and our beautiful Greater Invis.
Lastly using Spectator Eyes Necklace for more utility..

Lightfoot Halflings and Deep Gnomes also get advantage on stealth as a racial ability. Halflings are particularly good as you have the lucky ability so even if you do roll a critical failure on that advantage check, the dice will be rerolled, the likely hood of you failing a second advantage check are pretty much zero. For that reason alone Halflings are the stealthiest race in the game and theres heaps of spells and gear that solves the short speed distance.

The Deathstalker mantle is almost mandatory for any invisibility based build, which means you'll need to go dark urge, and it's best to start out as a Duergar for the racial invisibility ability to stack with other ways to go invisible, plus the superior dark vision also helps.

This is a wild mix of ideas that down mix together well.
Instead of investin into argonizing blast, you should have taken Beguiling Incluence on your 2nd Warlock level. That, paired with all the Skill Bonis from Rogues, will get you a bunch of easy ability checks. Because you somehow wasted your stats into dex, instead of CHA (what anyone with Pact of blade should do) you actually just nerf yourself by picking argonizing blast, If you only want the passive bonis from Warlock for the first 5 level, pick 2 light crossbows instead of using argonizing blast. Makes things much easier and you can still hold onto this methode until late game, because get Gloves of DEX in act 1 in the creche which sets your Dex to 18.
and Assassin is not as good as thief with Warlock.
Here is a better idea for early game:
    3 levels into rogue/thief
    1 level into Warlock
    2 shortswords
Use first Bonus interaction for Hex on main target.
Go in with your dual melees.
Benefit from 2 Attack rolls, both getting Hex bonus damage.
Do the same with dual crossbows if you have any issues regarding range enemies.
From then on level warlock levels until:
    3 levels into thief
    5 levels into Warlock.
Pact of blade for Mainhand shortsword.
Same tactic with 20 Charisma at that point and 18DEX
This is much better than anything else in this video.
If you maintain concentration (should be easy with this build) you can do 2 main hand attacks + 1-6 Hex bonus damage + 2 off-hand attacks + 1-6 Hex damage.

Super cool idea. Alternate options would be to pick Deep Gnome or Halfling races for their default advantage on stealth checks, or use the Graceful Cloth for +2 Dex and advantage on all Dex (including Stealth) saves, which would also save you a feat. Gloves of Dexterity from the Quartermistress in Creche Yllek could let you dump dex entirely to favor Charisma for Pact of the Blade attack and damage rolls. The Graceful Cloth and Gloves of Dex are available on your first day if you're skipping the Grove/Halsin quests, or immediately after you're finished with the Grove party.
Going to try this build with a Lightfoot Halfling for the advantage on stealth checks and Halfling Luck for re-rolling 1's. Starting stats: 8 16 14 8 10 17, Ethel's Hair Charisma + Graceful Cloth for 18 Dex and 18 Cha without Feats. Levels: 3x Rogue (Theif for extra bonus action to hide in Darkness while still making an off-hand attach, or Assassin for guaranteed crits), 9x Warlock for Hold Monster and level 5 spell slots, or alternatively go 5x Gloomstalker Ranger, 7x Warlock for 3 main-hand attacks every round, Greater Invis, 3+ Initiative and the Dread Ambusher attack on the first round which adds an extra 1d8 damage, you also have access to a Fighting Style, and you can take Urban Tracker Archetype if you want this to be the pick-lock character, and Ranger Knight Favored Enemy for access to heavy armor including gloves, boots, helmets, etc.)
Story-wise could be a Ranger who made a pact with Ethel after taking her hair, or after taking Ethel's hair realized how strong Fey can be and sought a different Fey creature to pact with around the transition to Act 2 (maybe the character calls in a favor from the Shadar Kai, He Who Was, for help locating a spooky Feyboi to get pacty with)
Feats: I'd prioritize Alert so you don't have to worry about getting spotted and absolutely manhandled by the initiative order, and then grab and ASI for 2x Charisma points to bring you up to 20 Cha without items.
Dual wield short swords or use the Phalar Aluve in Act 1 (add an extra 1d4 of thunder damage with Shriek, or 1d4 to attack rolls with Sing. Shriek will harmonize with Gloves of the Belligerent Skies and Boots of Stormy Clamour, also available in Act 1, causing enemies to likely go prone in the first round.) Dual Wield the Justiciar's Scimitar and Sword of Clutching Umbra (Sold by Dammon at Last Light) in Act 2. Both give the Shadowsoaked Blow special actions which do and extra 1d6 Psychic damage and DO NOT BREAK CONCEALMENT, so on a thief build you could hide either out of sight lines if your Invis breaks or in darkness and you can do a main-hand attack with extra damage dice while hiding, and still remain hiding for advantage on your second attack from Pact of the Blade. Deathstalker Mantle from Dark Urge story line would be a nice safety net if you end up in a tight squeeze without spell slots but have enough action economy to finish off an enemy and trigger the free 2-rounds of Invis
With the Duellist's Perogative Rapier from Act 3, you'll be doing 4 attacks with your main hand weapon, every round on Tactician, and it's a +3 weapon, stock.
Note: You'll probably want to keep a space for Crusher's Ring and the Haste Helm if you take Deep Gnomes or Halflings because of the decreased movement speed. Longstrider is huge for this.
This is an exciting build to think through, great idea!

Wow this is the perfect build for Astarion, it perfectly exemplifies the vampire aesthetic. I would probably try to focus more on getting charisma up rather than dex, especially since you can get high dexterity from gloves. But it probably doesn't even matter. I wonder if Thief rogue would be better, especially with an extra attack as a bonus action from the sword. As the thief, you'll be able to do 2 hits per turn presumably

    • @jasonhendricks4562
      @jasonhendricks4562 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Another alternative I would consider is going with Bard instead of Warlock. You'll lose eldtrich blast and devil's sight, but you'll still have greater invisibility and an extra attack without relying on charisma for pact of the blade. Additionally, swords bard means you can become even more effective with your dueling rapier, with flourishes to add the cherry on top.

    • @user-bq1dz8dt7r
      @user-bq1dz8dt7r 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

@@jasonhendricks4562 darkness + devil's sight are too OP. So mb the best here is: 6 bard of blades (for extra attack), 3 thief (for 2 bonus actions), 3 warlock GOO for devil's sight and darkness. I think darkness is more effective than invisibility. And a second bonus action worth more than just 1st turn mega crits. So you can kill them all in solo and fight in long combats. And another nice feature of this build - having 2 one-handed crossbows. So you have range damage option and it is GOOD option. You can shoot just... i dont know... 4 times per turn? or even more... I mean, just cast darkness on yourself, shoot em all, and if they'll get to melee - just shred them all... And you have many proficiencies. And you have some CC by "Blade Flourish" (bards of blade skills). So i think it is best.
Or 3 bard blades, 3 thief, 6 warlock archfey pact of blade. Here we take extra attack from warlock and misty escape. But we dont need escape from darkness. So, 1st variant is better i think.

Yeah good call here, I didn't realize it till I did my second run thru using this video... now I'm thinking maybe I want to do.. Vampiric touch if I'm putting this on Astarion or Mirror image for AC? Cloud of Daggers to continue the invisible assassin deal.. if I'm out of combat anyway like he mentions Hunger of Hadar is for.. then why not mess everything up and use my darkness and some cloud of daggers.. or Blink/Gaseous Form? Which both you can use in dangerous situations.. and again with Astarion picking up this build more Vampiric like. Maybe Mirror Image even? thinking this is for when I'm knocked out of combat and in a dangerous situation.. Hunger of Hadar damages and I can't see thru it.. so how does this help me? I'd rather have options or be safe and have other characters refocus while I hide it out or heal/armor up at least?
I think I might do mirror image as it takes no concentration and the others do, which means I could get back into Invis faster and the mirror image still lurks and helps no, while others concentration is broken once I'm switching back to invis... I'm using Wyll for this build not Astarion.. and my main is a druid so I also think instead of Fly I will choose Plant Growth because it will slow down folks to kill easier and be more synergistic with my Druid character armor bonus and their summons' bonuses. Also instead of Beguiling influence, using Book of Ancient Secrets for utility and I picked up Poison instead of another spell he suggested so my Poison Invisible Assassin can now Shut down a situation with Silence and Mirror image to handle being seen in any situation... Sounds MUCH more Invisible assassin to me...and since I got my charisma to 20 I won't have to worry much about those checks, especially considering I have things like Boon of the Shape Shifter Ring and that disguise helm that I can use at any time to make up for that.
Also scratching his Faerie Fire choice for Arms of Hadar since this class is combat as a warlock it'll help reduce damage intake in those said nasty moments where I lose invis.
Worth mentioning I also dropped his suggestion on Repelling blast and chose One with Shadows.. it's better for hidden assassin build rather than pushing people...
And adjusted my Dex to 19 and Char to where I can get 18 and boost to 20 with Birthright Hat...
After all of this I noticed my Perception was -1 because of Wisdom being so low.. I went back and rerolled all the same above BUT at Level one I changed my Skills to the following:
Remove - Deception (I'm Wyll a good guy not a liar)
Add Perception, keep Acrobatics, Sleight of Hand, and Stealth, also maintain Persuasion because even good guys have to convince folks of the truth!
      - Acrobatics +5 with 4/4
      - Sleight of hand +5 with 4/4
      - Stealth +7 with 4/4 and 2/2
      - Perception +3 with 4/4 and 2/2
      - Persuasion with +5 from 1/1
Hoping this will finally perfect this build!

From what I've read, Pact uses whatever is highest of your spellcasting attributes. So if you instead had 20 INT or WIS, it would use that for attack and damage. If you aren't raising CHA though, the only reason to go this route would be for the extra attack it gives and to allow you to basically use any weapon you are proficient in with a different attack modifier. Which likely wouldn't be much if you are a Druid or Wizard. Could be moderately useful on an EK though maybe, although it still seems like a waste.

Reason I am asking is because I want to run Laz'eal, Gail and Shadowheart which means I need a high charisma face character that can sneak around in stealth and pick locks/pockets to round out the party. This build seems tailor made for that especially if you want some spell casting ability as well.

Then this build would work decently well for you atleast at the start; but once you get pact of the blade: highly reccomend respec as pact of the blade's charisma modifier to your weapons does NOT add the charisma modifier: it replaces the weapon mod. For example: say you do 10 dmg with 10 str on a weapon, with pact of the blade and 8 charisma, you would do only 8 dmg INSTEAD of 18 because it over writes the str scaling... I highly reccomend grabbing the dex gloves since they give you a set 18 dex at act 2. It'll save you some skill points

If you're new to the game, I don't think there is much point in following this build as, besides the mistakes with pact of the blade, it is built around items obtained later in a playthrough. There isn't really a substitute for that weapon elsewhere in the game, so you'd get more value building a more traditional Pact of the Blade warlock or Blaster Caster Warlock. For both versions you'd want to stack your Charisma to 20, pick up Agonizing Blast at Warlock 2 and either spam Eldritch Blasts with Hex or go in for melee attacks utilising your Pact Weapon. You can dump Strength once you get Warlock 3 Pact of the Blade.

Don't play a messy build like this one. Just play a classic warlock with eldrich blast, and save tieflings in act 1 and 2. alfira will give you an item that is just OP for eldrich blaster warlock in act 2. It will be way less messy, and easier to play. (don't go pact of the blade with that build, book is way better)
If you want something a little bit harder to play, but also more powerfull, play a tempest cleric 2 sorcerer 10 (storm or draconic blue). You just play like a classic caster, but when you are against a boss you cast create water on them followed by metamagic bonus action [your best lightning spell], and you use your channel divinity from tempest cleric for max damage. This will eather kill or almost kill anything in the game (in act 3, break into the mage shop, you'll get a staff that give you the best lightning spell in the game, which will compensate the 2 cleric levels that prevent you from having them)

I suppose one could get the permanent Summon Cheeky Quasit would partially make up for it, but having the imp with mutiple attacks has saved the party on more than one occasion. Yet another Act 3 only build. It's fine and all I guess, but if you actually want to play something like this before Act 3, get the sword in Act 2 that lowers your crit threshold to 19 and you can have another weapon in your offhand. You also have someone else cast Greater Invisibility on you, and you can also use the ring that has Pass Without Trace to make sure it never breaks.
Stat spread seems kind of goofy. If you are going to be Invisible more often than not, you should have 14 CON and at least 16 CHA. 14 CHA isn't really all that great if you plan on using Eldritch Blast much at all. Or any spells that target enemies for that matter. Seems like the only reason you even bothered with Warlock was for the extra attack. So why not just go Fighter instead and get Action Surge? You don't need Warlock for Greater Invisibility. Someone else can cast it on you. Your build seems like it's more for solo playing.
The damage on this build overall seems kind of trash though. Why not just go with 16 DEX 20 CHA and use Eldritch Blast instead? Hell, if it's just about enemies not being able to attack you, just cast Darkness on yourself and go to town with EB. You can also pair this with the Deathstalker Mantle. Honestly, the build looks like it could be fun, but Paladin/Warlock is much, much stronger overall and can pretty much do the same thing, and more.
